I don’t understand why this store follows a perpetual pattern of hiring people who do not understand and practice basic arithmetic. If you’re not able to handle money with integrity and then look at the customers with the most dumbfound look, please stick to stocking the shelves and performing sanitary duties.

My local 99 cent store I’m so happy you arrived. This is the perfect store for me as I like to be frugal at times. 99 cents you can’t pass that up! My usual weekly stop consists of purchasing the langers cran raspberry juice which I’ve become obsessed with! It’s a great stop to stock up on snacks and a dew household necessities for the week. My go to for gifting items like gift bags, cards & tissue paper. I always check the freezer section for new & unique snacks. It’s a pretty busy store so I’m always glad when they are opening new registers.

I’ve shopped at many different 99 Cent Only stores over the years. Over this time, lots of the items and the quality of choices have changed LOTS! Nowadays, you can find name brands, fresh eggs, and all sorts of vegetables and fruits! Now, the thing bothering me the most is the«ONLY» part. In the past few months, lots of items priced $ 1.99 and $ 2.99 have been sold and more and more items priced this way have been displayed and sold. I don’t care if you’re going to sell items higher, but don’t say«ONLY»! Moving on… The best things I buy at any 99 store is gift bags and gift wrap. They offer a good selection and for stuff that gets tossed anyway, the prices are good. Some office supplies are good, but some of the writing pens and markers aren’t as good. When more products began to be offered, I began shopping more and more. Some products are sold, as long as they’re available on the shelf. Once they’re sold out, they’re sold out. For example, sometimes you’ll find Quaker Oats or Nature Valley cereal bars that normally retail for at least $ 3/box. They’re not expired and won’t be for several months, so I bought around 20. Great deal! When I returned a few days later, they were gone and no more were going to be sold there. A dozen medium eggs are sold there. One time a few weeks ago, the eggs were offered at $ .99/dozen with a limit of 4 dozen. These eggs were fresh and actually a little larger than most medium eggs. I’ll sometimes find Jennie-O turkey burger patties in the freezer section. They’re individually wrapped, dated and when cooked, they’re perfect and moist. I often buy Guerrero tortillas(both flour and corn) here. These are delivered fresh all the time and much cheaper than Walmart. Some of the vegetables and fruit are okay and others need further inspection. Sometimes they’re super fresh, sometimes they are slightly bruised and sometimes they’re not good anymore. I always buy Shasta here because I think it tastes better than Coke and Pepsi, and you don’t always find Shasta in stores. Smart n Final carries it, but 99 is closer to home. Things like body toiletries, bathroom supplies, batteries, plates, cups, plasticware and cooking utensils/ware …I don’t necessarily find them worth the price. Most food sold here are good for the price, but some(depending on ounces and weight), are still better purchased at a market. Candy and snacks are okay too. Now with all the positive and praise, I gave this store 2 stars. I honestly should have given 1, but I shop here regularly. Still, I watch carefully what I buy. Last week, I was looking in the refridgerated section for hummus. The brand sold here, is delicious. No matter what I buy, when it comes to food, I look at the expiration dates. Well I found the hummus and the one I happened to grab, was expired weeks prior to that! Infact, I was there In mid August and the expired date was July 172015! So I looked at the ones it was piled on and surrounding. I counted at least 5 till I gave up and looked for someone working there. The guy I told, immediately headed over and began taking them down. I was amazed when they kept piling up. I swear there were dozens! I shop here often and that’s why I don’t want this store to get in trouble with a customer who might buy this and get sick. We all know what that kind of trouble leads to. To the manager and anyone in charge of stocking and displaying merchandise: Please be more careful and make sure only items that should be sold, are put out on the floor. This is a food item. You can’t let someones carelessness bring trouble to an entire store and company! This goes for corporate too. Please make sure this doesn’t happen at any 99 Cents store! Some of the staff is friendly and some are obviously lazy and don’t want to be there. A couple of the cashiers are just rude and obnoxious. Everyone knows the plastic bags are thin and don’t hold much. Some of these cashiers stuff 2 big bottles of Shasta in a bag, and don’t double. When I ask, these ladies roll their eyes. One time, I was humiliated. My funds were accidentally low, like $ 1 off. I asked if I could step aside, so I could transfer funds online. With an attitude and smirk on her face, this slender Latina woman(early 20’s with long hair) called out loud to cancel the whole thing. I told her it would only take a couple of minutes. When I was done, I told her and she«sucked her teeth» at me shook her head! C’mon girl, I told you what I was doing and that I was still buying everything! Just rude! The worst part is, she knows I’m a regular! Because this store is close to home, I still shop.

Carson or Compton, their both the same when it comes to local business and their operations, always a disappointment. I have been here a few times so I wanted to wait for my review so I can criticize fairly. Too many questionable people loitering the premises, way to cramped inside store, it’s hard to get through each aisle, only one person at a time. Too many kids and not enough responsible parents, more questionable people loitering the aisles undecidedly, produce section is an embarrassment, and to top it all off they never have more than two registers open at a time. The two stars is because cashier is always friendly, will not be returning here just like other stores I refuse to go to in Carson.

Unfortunately, this store replaced a Ralph’s grocery store, which was much needed. But, I come here often for quick items and snacks. The shelves are always stocked. It’s also clean. I’m not fond of the disorganized stocked boxes in the walkways near check out counters. They are in the way. I often still go to the 99 cents stores in Long Beach and Torrance for fruits and veggies to juice because the selection here just isn’t up to par. The lines are also super long and super slow. There’s usually only two cashiers open when I go in. the ones I’ve spoken with have also complained about the manager’s poor scheduling… just like I and other customers have. Fix the scheduling issue, please!!! Overall, I’m glad to have this store in the community so I don’t have to drive so far to find one.

I absolutely love the 99 cent store! This is my «go to» spot before I go shopping anywhere else. I always find some goodies here. Nice and clean store.

Been shopping here since they opened. They have recently started to stock their merchandise in the middle of the aisle. It’s a big hassel to go around them and doesn’t look good. Other than that, I like this store.

Very clean and organized store for being a 99 cent bargain store. Normally I’m ready to see disaster at these places. But kudos to the staff. Store just recently opened. When coming here I expect long lines. Today I had one thing and there was 3 people in front of me. But the cashier did a great job getting the line down. Thank you

Recently opened, was a Ralphs just 2 months ago… stopped in because I forgot my calculator at home and had a test for school. Slow cashiers and long lines though. I’m not sure if standing in line for 1 item was worth it.
