I expected more based on the Unilocal reviews is usually what I believe. Come on Unilocalers we have to do better. So, this was a Friday at 8pm I wanted the brisket and they were out. Ok, disappointment! Back up was beef ribs. It was edible not tender and a lot of fat. The BBQ sauce was good I got the spicy. Mac and cheese was different not cheesy and I think it had sour cream due to the smell and there were curds in it. Greens were good. Baked beans hmmm not much flavor. Beef links were ok but not special. Well I will not return. It may have just been a different flavor than what I’m used to as it states the this is where Alabama meets Texas.

More like 2.5 stars. Good mac, good greens, good bbq sauce. Ok pulled pork and mediocre chicken link(tastes like Bar S… or however u spell it). Probably stick with other local spots.

Food was good. I think it’s better than Jay bees. The sauce is spicy for my taste. Doesn’t hit you till the end of your bite. You taste a small hint of it. But just not till the end. Their chicken was a little dry IMO. All the other meats like rib tips, rib, tri tip was decent. I still think joeys BBQ in Pomona still the best. If in the area, I think this place is good. Stop by and try then. Not the best but Good.

I’ve been meaning to try this place so I ordered Fathers Day dinner from here. The ribs are Soooo good. Tender, seasoned well and just enough sauce. My mom love the chicken and the greens/cabbage mix. My honey said the beans were okay, but he is so use eating my beans so he sets the bar high. Overall my fam enjoyed the food and service is good

Today was my first time visiting«My Father’s BBQ» and I must say there BBQ was definitely on point. I had the Beef Brisket, cabbage/greens and Mac and cheese all of it was bomb and my husband had the Trip-Tip he too enjoyed his meal. The meal also come with bread and I usuallydo not eat the bread when I eat BBQ, so my husband said you need to try this bread ANDOMG!!! I need to order a loaf of that bread not kidding it was that good. Also, the workers makes even more inviting… Especially the young lady at the counter she was so helpful and kind which makes it really easy for me to return back… Yes«My Father’s BBQ» thank you and you just won yourself a new customer … coming all the way from Jurupa Valley.

I’ve tried a lot of BBQ in LA, and around the country(including Texas!), and this is one of, if not my favorite place to go. I came here all the time when it was«Bodacious». It’s more of a lunch or casual dinner place with a walk-up counter and adequate, but minimal seating. The atmosphere, though, is great. It’s smoky, and the music is perfect. It all fits with the food. The brisket is fantastic, but the turkey is an outstanding staple for those days I want BBQ and don’t want to feel guilty about it. The ribs are good, but not my favorite. The sausage is really good. I don’t think I’ve ever tried the chicken(what’s the point, when the turkey is so good?). I highly recommend it, whether you like BBQ or not.

I like this place. I wish I could give it a higher rating. But… While the brisket had great flavor it was too greasy, The baked beans were too sweet The mac and cheese was too plain and the sweet tea tastes like it was made from a mix. Great service, however.

Had the brisket dinner with Mac and cheese and bbq baked beans. Brisket was on point!!! Overall the food was really good, but I didn’t expect the beans to be spicy. Unfortunately my kids couldn’t enjoy them. I got to scavenge from my wife’s plate once I devoured mine and enjoyed the cabbagreens she got. I think that will be my side next time.

Make sure you put plenty of quarters in your patience meter before coming because you will WAIT! It would probably be better to call in your order because the line was ridiculous! I only ordered a side of yams, mac, and a piece of cornbread because I didn’t want to wait an hour for the meal and even that small order took over 15 minutes! The mac was good and the yams were perfect not to sweet and seasoned just right… I must come back and try a real meal…

Pork ribs were boiled. Minimal flavor. Brisket was better. Not worth the 19.00 spent on two meats and two sides. Mac n cheese was not good. Noodles were overcooked. The ok star was the greens that they mixed with cabbage. Not bad. The Dr. Pepper I had to wash it all down was better than the food. Sad. People who give this place more than 3 stars do not know BBQ.

The Ribs and the Tips were the Bomb My Daughter and I enjoyed them. The Macaroni and Cheese had Flavor but with the Pasta being Overcooked it took away from it. The Greens and Cabbage Mix was Good and had a Bit of a Kick. Cornbread was Good. Can’t give a True Overall Rating. But if i was to Base it off the Ribs 5 Stars. Need to Try the other Side Dishes in Order to give My True Rating.

I literally just finished what was good from this place. I ordered the 3 meat combo(chicken links, ribs, and chicken) with baked beans and collard greens and cabbage. I also ordered some peach cobbler as well. The meats were delicious my kids and I agreed on that. I was really disappointed with the sides. They were very flavorless. I added some hot sauce to them and it didn’t help. But the peach cobbler was very delicious. My daughter found a piece of plastic on her chicken and some undercooked beans. My chicken links weren’t even chicken but they were good. Half of the texas toast was soggy from the bbq sauce because it was placed on the top of the meats.

Ok… First let me say I haven’t been to Bludsoe’s so I can’t make a comparison to that establishment. I have been to Hambone’s in Bellflower and thought that place was pretty good. However… My Father’s BBQ… is so much better than Hambone’s, and here’s why. I had the brisket here, and it was moist, juicy, and cut-with-a-fork tender. I had mine with sauce on the side, and it still had a nice smoked-meat flavor with just enough fat to keep the meat from drying out. Hambone’s was tasty but smothered in sauce and definitely needed a fork AND knife. This place was spotlessly clean and EVERYONE who worked here was friendly and courteous and asked how my meal was. Hambone’s was a bit cluttered(an older, smaller building so space is limited) and the employees simply took the orders and presented the food. The Hambone’s employees weren’t rude, but they weren’t personable either. To summarize, I was VERY impressed with the food and service at My Father’s BBQ. I liked the beans(sweet and mildly spicy with a bit of chopped onion and jalapeño, I think) and mac and cheese. The Texas Toast was just right: crisp but not greasy. The pulled pork ran out just before we got here(a good sign!) so I plan to come back again just to try it. So Unilocalers… Come out to the South Bay and give this BBQ restaurant a try. It’s just east of the Links at Victoria(golf course). I think your taste buds will thank you!

Had such high hopes. We ordered 2 brisket sandwiches with fried. 30 minute wait, and the place was relatively empty. We get our food, after people who came in after is got theirs, and it looked really good. Pulled my sammach apart to check the guts, over cooked brisket. It was dry and lacked any smoke or dry rub flavor. It looks like it was either put in the microwave or sat under heat lamps for a long time. Fries were good, it was the spice they out in them, but I was a fan. Perfectly cooked fries were not enough to ever make me wanna come back. Next time I’ll stick to my normal spots.

Had the Brisket dinner with mac and cheese & baked beans. The brisket was good and tender, the beans had this good smokey sweet flavor to them and the mac n cheese was some of the best ive had. They put some kind of seasoning in the mac n cheese that sets it off. Next time im getting an extra side of that mac n cheese. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. I support Black businesses.

If you complain about the price, just understand that ALLBBQ restaurants are expensive. You’re paying for premium meat. Amazing Mac and Cheese like my mom makes, love the mixture of greens and cabbage, but it needed some more flavor. We had the honey cornbread and peach cobbler and it was delicious! The cornbread is a dessert in itself, it’s a huge potion– but you’re not gonna want to share it :) We(a group of 4) had the brisket chili(my favorite!!!), brisket, rib tips, and turkey leg meal. We got to try all the sides and we can’t wait to make our way back to this place. I’d happily drive all the way from Pasadena to Carson for their food!

New spot. Good Ol bbq with excellent customer service. We were greeted the minute we walked through the door by the friendly staff. Because it was our first time here, I’m sure we had the«we’re lost look» but within seconds the staff asked if it was our first visit and gave us a quick run down. I had the chicken link, salad and potato. Everything was delish!

Two stars 1 * for effort 1 * for the cashier Stopped by here around 8:15 pm ish after passing so many times. Ordered the three meat combo(sauce on the side to get the real flavor of the meats) for my husband and I to share. Here’s the break down: Meats Rib tips — tuuuff(lol), no flavor Brisket — nice & tender, no flavor Chicken links — not real chicken links(looks like Food 4 Less box special), Sauce — Okay, ’bout the best out of the meal Bread — Okay(Texas toast) for dipping in the sauce Sides Yams — I’ve never had mashed yams(not flavorful) Greens & Cabbage — no cabbage, no seasoning Cornbread — OMG, solid as a rock. If you’ve ever had reaaaal good BBQ& you know it, then this is not the place for you.

Last weekend we visited the Long Beach BBQ festival and came across this BBQ place that had a booth at the festival. So as a Unilocaler I started Unilocaling the business to see what their ratings is… The food looked good so we were willing to give it a try. We got a 1⁄3LB of ribs($ 12.00) and I have to say that it was some of the meatiest ribs I have ever had in my whole life… After eating all the meat, there would be a tiny bone left… Unlike some other Ribs that mostly are bones and alittle of meat, this BBQ place was really worth to spend money at… The meat itself was delicious… It had a dry rub and was soaked in tangy BBQ sauce… I really liked everything about the ribs. I doubt I would ever go to Carson to try this place again, but if I ever come across their BBQ stand in the next BBQ festival, I will surely spend a buck or two!
