Established in 2008.

Hi there, my name is Jo Stokes and I am the owner and founder of Essential Kneads Wellness Spa Inc. I began my wonderful holistic journey six years ago when this lifestyle sought me out and all I had to do was listen with intent. Some of my many passions are chakra/​energy balancing for both animals and humans, Master Reiki therapist/​instructor, ionic detoxification technician, integrative massage therapies, infant massage therapist, and my most recent endeavor, colon cleansing.

My mission in bringing Essential Kneads Wellness Spa to Carson City is to share the knowledge the universe continues to enlighten me with and to help others help themselves through massage, Reiki, and other holistic avenues.

Some friends and I were leaving Tahoe and stopped in Carson, and last minute decided we wanted a massage. Linda was free to help us this afternoon and she was great! Very professional and friendly an intuitive! Very relaxed! Would definitely recommend her!

I must say that she gives the best service of any therapist that I have ever gone too. I have been back a few times and will continue to see her in the future. When I first went to Jo I had many problems throughout my body and had a very limited range of motion in my hips and lower back. With her services and recommendations in three months time I no longer have hip and back issues. She is one of the most uplifting and positive people to be around. I highly recommend her to so many I meet. Thank you Jo for enlightening my life

I have seen Jo many times for colonic therapy, foot detoxing and one time for Raiki. The best thing I can say about Jo is she cares. She cares from the bottom of her heart about everyone who crosses into her path. And she wants everyone to feel better. She uses an open system colonic machine. She also offered infrared sauna, but I’ve never used hers because I own one at my home. Her pricing is fair and her alternative treatments work. I think her business does so well because of her calm spirit and genuine love for each of her clients. I have recommended Jo to many people and I will continue to spread the word to my friends in the Carson area. ;)

I went to Essential Kneads Spa for three treatments: Infrared Sauna, colonic, and reiki session. I would absolutely go back!
Jo was so thoughtful, kind, and cares a lot about her clients and is passionate about what she does.
Some more info about my treatments:
1) Sauna: this was my first time in an infrared sauna and it felt great. It’s very private, quiet, she has soft music playing, and provides water and a towel. I was in for 30 minutes, sweat a lot, and felt great.
2) Colonic: Jo has a libbe bed (aka open system), which in my opinion is the best way to experience a colonic. The room is private and comfortable. If you’re curious about colonics or have never experienced a libbe bed… this is the way to go! You’re in the room by yourself, there’s no embarrassment at all, and it’s very comfortable.
3) Reiki: This was my most favorite part of my sessions. It was relaxing, insightful, and I left feeling very much at peace. I’ve had reiki done before and Jo’s experience is one of my favorites. I definitely look forward to doing it again!
Parking: is street parking and was easy to find. Her studio is located in a very cute area of Carson City.

I just recently got a hot stone massage from Jo, she is great! I was not a believer of the ionic foot detox treatment, but after having a session, I can’t really say that I doubt it’s benefits. I really did feel like it had pulled quite a bit of toxins out of my body, and you can see it in the foot bath. Really, I’m a skeptic and I could not logically explain any other way that the water could get so… mucky. You feel it within your body, too. Although I didn’t make it in to my follow up detox, I still felt a noticeable improvement. You can tell she really loves what she does, and cares about your well being The whole experience made me feel clean… and happy! I highly recommend.
