Make sure you go early because they start to drain the pools after charging full price. You find yourself squatting to stay beneath the water level.

Hot springing in the winter-time is probably one of my favorite things to do(if you haven’t tried it, you must!). Carson Hot Springs are my «go to» hot springs. They offer a pool and two hot tubs. The water in all pools is natural mineral water. In addition to the general admission, you can buy spa packages. I’ve enjoyed every visit here and it’s location is great because it is on the Reno side of Carson City. I’ve noticed that recently they raised their prices a few dollars. Also, each time I go I notice a little more wear and tear on the facilities. This is expected in a place with such heavy traffic. I recommend checking out Carson Hot Springs sometime: its close to Reno, family-friendly, affordable, and a fun place to visit.

Used up my 10 visit pass today. Pool is dirty was not filled even half way. Floating debris in pool strange people not buying another pass…

Gayle and I are in Genoa for the weekend visiting her Mom. A dip in a Hot Springs was on our list, but not at the $ 50 per person price offered by David Walley’s. Instead we booked a private bath at Carson Hot Springs at $ 15 each, which also included the outdoor pools, towels, and of course the Senior Discount. Yes, the place can be a little rough at the edges. However, that’s part of the charm and they are putting money into this place as evidenced by a newly remodeled Unit #H and the new dry saunas. Gayle and I had a very nice time here, we’ll be back, and probably with with more family members. We also took a peak at the adjacent Sassafras Bar and Restaurant, and look forward to the 2016 opening of their brew pub venture. The only mystery to us are the adjacent«motel buildings», which Gayle’s brother alludes to an alleged«swinging» reputation. I’m not sure about that, but my impression is that Carson Hot Springs is a fun and family friendly Nevada recreational opportunity. And if you want a more bright and shiny yupscale locale, priced accordingly and without the interesting variety of local community members around, then head south to Genoa.

I used to come here every week with my friend, on ladies night, Tuesday, for $ 5. They no longer have a ladies day or a guys day(discounted prices). They have also raised prices from $ 10 to $ 12. WHY? I have no idea! I went there last night thinking maybe they remodeled something, anything. It looks worse than before! Caulk and tile missing all around the pool AND hot tub! An inch of standing water(puddles) in the walkways. Portable heaters HANGING in bathrooms(safety hazard if you accidentally lean on one or trip and fall into one). Pool water looked disgusting! They’re supposed to drain and fill every night/morning. Looked like someone’s dirty bath water. I showered immediately! I am very disappointed.

Planned a nice new years day to go relax and enjoy the hot springs I have only been to once before. Called ahead to make sure they were open and that gift cards never expire. Was given the hours, told they were busy but we could get on a list to wait for private tubs. So we planned on having dinner once we checked in and then would swim in the public area until a private tub opened up. On arrival we noticed it really wasn’t very busy and there was an obviously upset customer to speak with the front desk. He politely let us go first and I asked to get on a list for the private tubs, handed the very unprofessional desk clerk my gift cards. She said they wouldn’t have tubs available for hours later then originally quoted and wouldn’t give a reason, just had a bumbling non answer. No problem, we’ll eat, take our time, and use the public area. She takes the cards that have been paid for and never used… only to tell me they have no balance on them… IMPOSSIBLE! IFTHEGIFTCARDSDON’T EXPIREHOWCANTHEYNOTHAVE A BALANCE! Back to babbling like an idiot and being completely useless she has absolutely no answers, help or suggestions. TERRIBLE customer service! I’m going to figure out how to get the money back that was used to purchase the gift cards and NEVERRETURN!

I’ve been coming here for 2 decades, bringing children with me for the last 10 years. It’s always been a nice fun time. Staff is typically quite nice. Today was a different story, a girl I’ve never seen before, named Alexis was working the front desk. She was one of the rudest human beings I have ever encountered. She was not only rude to me and my family, but also to every other person I witnessed her interact with. She has no business in customer service. After 20+ years of patronage, I will not be returning to Carson Hot Springs. I’m just glad my punch card is empty.

So, I finally made it out to the Hot Springs. It’s cool for what it is, but I was expecting more upscale. It’s nothing fancy at all. More like a small community pool with private spring baths. There’s a separate restaurant attached called Sassafras. This didn’t look too inviting or busy the Saturday I visited. The Spring is oddly located in an industrial park and borders what looks to be a low-income row of shanty-town apartments. Free wi-fi is available on site, but there’s only 2 outlets located within the patio. The outdoor adult hot tub stays at 105 degrees constant, but it didn’t seem that hot to me. The private baths top out at 109 degrees and come with a 2 hr. time limit. However, you must use your 2 hr. allotment all at once and can’t split up the time, even when they’re not busy. 1 shower stall each in both the men’s & women’s changing areas. I kept wondering the potential of the place if they put forth more investment and improvements.

Go to place for hot springs. Between the pool, outside tubs and private rooms this place is great and priced well. Getting under the Hammer(hot water that feeds pool from a pipe 10 feet up) will get rid of almost any ache. I prefer the private rooms. They are all different temperatures. Only downside is no jets like the outdoor tub. No biggie though. They are the best oncenwinter hits although sitting outside when it snows is very relaxing. Just cold for a minute getting back to changing room. Only thing I wish they would offer is a season pass of some sort. If they did that it would be stellar.

We love coming here. Nothing hurts when you are in the Hot Springs. At our age that means alot. Grandkids LOVE it! Locker rooms could use a good remodel but the out side is kept up beautifully.

The history of the place is neat and the private bath houses are nice and relaxing. But the pool was filled with screaming kids and it was way too overcrowded!!! And the admission prices were a little steep I felt. I’m used to more natural undeveloped hot springs… So this was a different experience for sure.

I have been coming here since childhood and now bring my kids to this place. However the price increase is pretty crazy. We came for a quick before bedtime soak after a stressful day and with the pool more than half drained and an hour before closing they still wanted 45 bucks for us to swim. We have been driving to Grovers and love it. Much cleaner facility and prices reasonable. Sad to say goodbye to this lifelong memory. Goodbye Carson Hotsprings. Until you can revise your prices we will drive to the mountains. Even with gas it is cheaper.

Yeah it is costly and the bathrooms need a make over, but the water in the pool is 10 point 10! I crave going here and have been twice. Never regret and can’t wait until I return~ Oh yeah, the hammer is the best! LOVE~

My husband and I decided to visit the hot springs for the first time on a Wednesday morning. Google sent us in the wrong direction at first but once we found the place we discovered how easy it was to get there. We walked inside and asked for a private room. We had our choice of different temps. The lady at the counter wasn’t overly friendly but wasn’t rude either. We picked 103 as the temp and chose room I. It was $ 30 for both of us. I also noticed the sign on the register. It said that as of February the half price days would end. We found our way to the room ourselves as the woman behind the counter gave us no information. Oh well… We weren’t there for her, we were there for the water. Our room ended up being the last room at the end of the hall. The room was small and had a bench and a few hooks to hang things. I would suggest bringing a bag that closes as there is so much condensation the ceiling«rains». We walked down a few stairs and into the water. It was amazing! It was so warm and just the right temp. The room was clean and did not smell. The water comes right out of the wall and is flushed out the other end of the room. The water is constantly refreshing itself. It was also very quiet and never heard anyone talking even though 2 of the rooms were occupied. When our time was up we dried off and decided to walk outside to check out the pool area(it is included in the price of the private room). A group of older folks were enjoying the water and having a great time to themselves. There are 2 hot tubs but one was down until spring. We also noticed a fire pit! All in all, we walked out completely relaxed. It was exactly what we needed! We will be going again real soon!

As a local businesses owner I am a little reluctant to give a negative review as I know the impact it could have on a company. But I am so disappointed I need to voice my opinion and concerns. First thing I thought about the place was the appearance was a little on the downside. With a little investment I think this place could double its revenue. Second thing I noticed was kids until 10pm on a Sat. The idea of possibly making a curfew for people under 18 starting at 8pm should be entertained. Now onto more important things. The private spa room needs ventilation. Windows that open would definitely be a plus. It was just so hot it couldn’t be enjoyable so my wife and I got out after 15 minutes. Not to mention the water was very hot. The appearance of the private spa room needs remodeling desperately. It doesn’t give a romantic or welcoming feeling like I had anticipated. I understand that not all people are utilizing these rooms for an evening with their spouse. Some might be using it for therapy and such. So maybe make half the rooms more updated in which I’d gladly pay more for. Now the reason for this review and 1 star. Upon entering the room I noticed the water was cloudy. I figured it might be an illusion since the room was so full of steam. Once I Sat down the tile was slimy which was kinda disgusting and just further encouraged us to leave. Well when my wife and I got home we both were pretty itchy. We both thought this might possibly be due to irritation to the hot water since its been a while that we have been in a spa but sadly neither of us now think that’s a case. It’s been 3 days since we went and now we are both having to take off work to visit our doctor to get rid of this incredibly itchy rash. Until matters are addressed we will not return and will not advise friends and family to go either.

At $ 10 for adults, $ 8 for children, and kids 5 and under FREE, with just a quick drive from Reno, Carson Hot Springs is an affordable day of fun and relaxation and feels like an extra special treat when cabin fever starts to set in during the winter months. There’s not much in the way of fuss or frills when it comes to Carson Hot Springs. But when you’re giving me a chance to splish and splash with my kiddo while simultaneously relaxing with my honey and soaking my tired muscles, I don’t need any fuss or frills. And when you give me a place to do that while enjoying the sunshine outside in January, you make me a big fan rather quickly. The times that we’ve hit up the hot springs, it’s typically been pretty busy. There’s an interesting mix of customers. Lots of families, with kids jumping from the ledges and splashing around, while couples cozy up in a corner looking all love-bird like and older folks somehow maneuver around it all to swim their laps. It seems the magic of the spring water is working here, though, as everyone is very laid back. In fact, I’d say the biggest thing missing from this place is the impatient/grumpy scowls we’ve sometimes been recipients of in other crowded pools when my little one is splashing around. The facility certainly shows its age, but when we’ve visited the bathroom and locker rooms have been clean. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and I rather appreciate that they actually enforce rules put into place(ie, I’ve witnessed them chasing kids out of the adults only hot tub). There is a good amount of lounging chairs available, as well as several tables and chairs under a shaded area. I love that they welcome you to bring in outside food and have ample space for having a little picnic. The fire pit is also a very nice touch, especially during the very cold months.

I love the hammer. It’s this fountain of 98 degree water that literally pounds your shoulders or any other body part needing massage. Better than any massage I’ve gotten. However I had to leave when they brought in the new born baby in a diaper. Gross and unkooth.

Here’s the deal: there’s Carson City hot springs here and David Walleys down in Genoa about 25 miles south on 395. Many comparisons have been made between the two. Bottom line: DW is closer to south Tahoe and skiing, it’s a little fancier and it costs a lot more. CC hot springs is a lot more family friendly, the swimming pool is in the high 90s temp and they have private hot tub rooms and affordable massages. (Speaking of which, if you have a choice, take Lisa. Quote my wife: «she has the hands of a god. «) Yes the swimming pool gets crowded and loud and there’s a ton of kids. However, since my kids were adding to the decibel level, I can’t complain. And unlike DW nobody gave us dirty looks. We will definitely go again.

While this IS an old eatablishment, the prices are great, the water feels amazing and the people are friendly. I love coming here, and would recommend it to anyone! The private rooms are $ 15 per person for 2 hours, but you also have access to the main pool for the rest of the day. The main pool alone is $ 10 per person for the full day, and you can bring food or leave and come back if you want to go eat. Mondays are half off($ 5.00) for men, and Tuesdays are half off for women. Good deal!
