Capital Lock & Key

My neighbor who kindly offered to paint my front door first removed the deadbolt and doorknobs. When it was time to put it all back together, somehow the deadbolt got jammed up and wouldn’t budge. After spending a couple of hours trying to figure out what went wrong we gave up. Called Capital Lock & Key the next day, and Chris called me back within a 10 minutes or so. He was very patient listening to my tale, and even offered some suggestions on how we might see if it was fixable ourselves, and what to be careful of. I was impressed! Called him back when we still couldn’t get the darn thing to budge. Chris had it fixed and working perfectly in about 10 minutes even though he had «never seen this before». Charged me the very fair basic service fee, and was polite and professional throughout. I like dealing with the owner/​operator of a company who takes pride in their work and treats me like a valued customer. Chris will be my go to guy for all my locksmith needs.

He made it to me same day I called. I kept throwing more at him and he handled it all! From one simple rekey to a change out to a smart lock (I can rekey it myself for my Air B&B) to fixing the garage and then adding a keyed outdoor lock to my sliding glass door!
Price was way less than if I’d tried to do all this myself and he was very knowledgable.

I will add my 5-​star review along with everyone else’s. Chris came within 30 minutes of my call that I was locked out of the house, on a Saturday afternoon when most places were closed. After checking ID for proof it was really our house (appreciate the safety behind that!) he quickly got the door unlocked for us. Then he serviced the door locks as one had been installed upside down, and both were difficult to turn. His fee was not high. He was friendly and efficient. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to everyone.

Chris came to our house to rekey it and reprogram our garage door openers. He was punctual, friendly and did first-​rate work at a reasonable price. We recommend him to anyone and will keep his business card handy for any future needs.

Chris is very fast and efficient! My husband locked his keys in his car, and he said he would meet us at our place in 20 – 30 minutes — he was here in 15. Today is Memorial Day too, and there wasn’t an extra fee. Just $ 65 to unlock the trunk. We will definitely do business with him again (if we do this oopsie again)

I needed to get a key made for my truck and even though it wasn’t urgent, Chris was very helpful and was able to fit me in on the same day. He arrived when he said he would, was very friendly and charged me a very fair price for two perfectly fitting keys.

Chris, the owner, was so friendly. He gave me a great deal on both unlocking my truck and making a new spare key for me. I really liked the work he did and would use him anytime I needed something unlocked.

After calling two other locksmiths, I checked Unilocal and called Capital this morning to inquire about having a replacement transponder key and remote entry fob made for my Ford truck. Chris Law, the owner answered the phone promptly and agreed to meet me in 45 minutes to fix my problem.
Chris and I arrived at the meeting site at the same time. Upon inspecting my spare key he immediately recognized that I didn’t need a transponder key. He could very well have charged me for the more expensive key and I wouldn’t have known the difference. Two other local companies had previously told me that I did need the more expensive key. Hmmmm.
In 15 minutes, Chris programmed the new remote entry fob, made two spare truck keys, and two spare keys for my camper shell. He checked out that everything worked and I was on my way.
Chris was not only prompt and courteous, but he also took the time to educate me about transponder keys while he worked. His price was more than fair.
As far as I’m concerned, there’s only one locksmith in the area, and that’s Chris law.

I needed all the doors re-​keyed, and a new lock installed. He was there within the hour, was done in about ½ hour and even helped me re-​program the garage door with remote entry.
Service was great and all done for a fair price.
As a consumer and business owner myself, I know you can’t ask for much more than that. It was nice to find someones who lives up to the ratings.
