Description

Specialties

Each of us at Balanced Movement Studio knows that movement is the key to living healthier, living happier, and improving your quality of life. With that in mind, we have two goals: to build a movement community, and to make you a part of it.

If you need help getting motivated, if you’re not feeling like you used to, if you’re worried about your long-term health, or if you just need some help with your fitness routine, our highly trained certified personal trainers can help you.

We also have a 1,200-square-foot movement space upstairs, where we host movement classes including yoga, Pilates, hooping, bellydance, capoeria, Nia, Qigong, Taiji, and more. This warm, inviting space overlooking downtown Carrboro is the perfect place to take a break from your hectic day, and feel better for doing it.

If you need more specialized care, we share the building with Proaxis Therapy, with a team of licensed physical therapists who share our belief that movement is the key to a good life

History

Established in 2003.

Personal trainer and fitness professional Elizabeth Towe and her husband, physical therapist Brian Beatty, established Balanced Movement Studio together with Balanced Physical Therapy (now Proaxis Therapy) in 2003. Their mission was to create a movement and wellness community with an integrated, intimate atmosphere — and to help people improve their quality of life through movement and exercise.

We live in a society that is very much out of balance. While everyone comes into our doors with a different interpretation of what «balanced movement» means to them, it is our passion to help people bring more of it into their lives — and to have fun while doing it!
