This place is awesome! The regulars are nice the burgers and Italian sausage are delicious and the bartenders are fast and friendly. A seriously fun dive bar not to be missed.

I’m give this place three stars only cause the food is decent for bar food, bathrooms are clean and it’s close to home. Other than that, the prices are, not the greatest especially if you want a shot or mixed drink. Ex., jameson 6.50! This isn’t the city or even close to the city. They shouldn’t charge like it is. He’s got his few regulars but not enough apparently to have reasonable pricing. Also, the constant turnovers of employees Def says something about this place. Not exactly a Cheers environment.

Not a fan of this bar, and you can’t call it a sports bar since when you want to watch a sporting event they have love music playing or karaōke. The female bartenders strut around trying to look hot for more tips or whatever(don’t find any of them attractive) Wings are awesome there tho. I highly recommend getting them. Like i said they need to change the name because this really isn’t a sports bar.

Great daily specials, friendly service, and has live entertainment during prune nights. Lunch deals worth the visit.

Came here for the first time last night(Saturday) for the US99.5 radio station event giving away some free concert tickets. The last time we went to one of these events it was a lot of fun and the bar that hosted it was great. Walked in the bar an hour before the event was supposed to start to have some beers and get some food. It was very empty and quiet so we took a seat at the bar. I noticed a bunch of signs in the bar saying the event was from 9 – 11 and that during that time they would be charging a $ 5 cover or you needed a toy for the TFT toy drive. After a few minutes, the bartender lady(Dead Eyes) came over and immediately requested money or a toy for us to be there, along with IDs. I was a little taken aback by the lack of a simple greeting or acknowledgment, but passed it off as her personality(I don’t need to be chatted up or be asked about my life story, but a Hi would be nice). Even though we were there way before the event, we paid anyways and didn’t say much about the time frame. Dead Eyes disappeared for awhile and finally decided to come back some time later. I asked for 2PBR’s…to which I got a dead eyed stare… silence…and then«I don’t know if we have that here. But I don’t think so. They had it at the last bar I worked at, and I just started here on Thursday. So, I don’t know.» And then she stood there, waiting on me to I guess… come up with some other ideas and take a stab in the dark at HER bar’s possible inventory of beer, since she clearly couldn’t tell me anything about it. I sat there and stared back at her dumbfounded… not about the fact that they«supposedly» didn’t have PBR… but by the fact that she didn’t offer to find out/check/ask the other bartender… or at least something! I kindly asked if they maybe had a list or menu of some sort to prod her into taking a few steps to open the cooler or do some checking since she clearly wasn’t sure if they did or did not carry the beer, and she said, «No, we have no lists or menu. I mean, we have Miller Lite and Bud light, how about one of those?» And stood there. At this point, I am in utter shock that this person is A. in the service industry B. a bartender and C. not getting yelled at by me right now. I kept my cool and just asked if they carried Budweiser… and yes, they did. After this, we went to the other side of the bar and sat at a table to stay away from Dead Eyes. The bar itself was cozy and my kind of place, it had a nice open set up and it was clean(which really isn’t a concern of mine either way, but other people might care reading this). There were two pool tables with a good amount of room so you’re not bumping into people when you’re playing. I do not have high bar standards and am at home in the crappiest of dive bars. I have seen reviews where people set unattainable standards on how things should be done or how they should be treated and that is not something I waste time caring about. I have worked in the service industry and this just really irked me. To me, you do whatever you can to get answers for your paying patrons, even if you are almost 100% sure you don’t carry something – you still make the effort to show that you’ve checked(whether that’s opening the cooler, asking someone else, or educating yourself on your place of employment’s beer selection), and come back with an answer. It’s common courtesy and doesn’t even have anything to do with bartending experience. Unfortunately, this particular person did not have these simple skills and I wasn’t about to jump over the bar and check for myself, but I damn near thought about it.

A large group of us came here on Friday night, it was a strange situation, but we all had fun. It was pretty silent when we walked in and there and there were about four men. About five other people came and went while we were there… but that was about it! We put on the jukebox and played some pool & darts in the other room. The bartender was quite nice and attentive. A very chill place, just would be nice if there were more people!

I used to live in the apartments right behind this bar and I can’t say I ever wanted to go, but nothing beats a 10 second walk home. I would usually go during the week and there were usually pretty odd people there. The one or two weekends that I went there it was a little more lively, but still had kind of a dirty, cheap feel to it. It wasn’t bad for just stopping in, but not a place you’d want to bring your friends.

Ah, Spectators. I spent many a nights here as a fresh 21 year old. To be honest I haven’t been in quite a while, but nothing had changed in the many years I did go there, so I’m assuming it’s still the same. I feel like it’s Cheers — they have their regulars, who they all know, the regulars know them, and they all love each other. I remember lots of loud laughing and people saying they should go home now… and saying it again when they were there 3 hours later. Definitely watch out for the DUIs –as you should any time, just don’t drink and drive peeps — cuz the police station is across the street. When I used to go there, it was cheap, divey, and full of character. Check it out because it’s probably one of the only tickets in town anyway.

Dump dive bar. Always be careful going through carol Stream. The cops are proud of their DUI arrests and always seem to get patrons at this place passing through north Avenue. They have terrible seating as the chairs and tables look like they came from a garage sale. Also, when a mens bathroom has no standing stall. that is a bad sign. At least they have a few pool tables

Honestly, I have not had a bad time at Spectators. They always have a guy sitting in the corner with a laptop, just waiting to talk to you and play your requests. WARNING: He will not play Red Hot Chili Peppers Zephyr Song, so dont even waste your breath.
