History

Established in 2013.

Stand Up Paddle is a sport that can be enjoy by all ages and abilities.

It breaks my heart to hear people say things like «I could never do that», or «I tried it once, but I couldn’t do it.» If given the right equipment, the right environment, and top quality instruction, almost anyone can stand up paddle. And it’s Fun! This is what West Coast Stand Up Paddle is all about.

I have been a teacher in so many facets of my life. I know that people learn in many ways and it’s so important to work with their learning style to have success. I have taken children as young as 2yrs old on my board and taught children as young as 11yrs old on their own boards. I have taught teens, young adults, 70yr olds, and all ages in between.

I am a certified Level 2 instructor thru the Paddle Fit program, and a Level 1 instructor through the WPA (World Paddle Association). What this means is that I have accurate knowledge of water safety and proper instruction for Stand Up Paddling. I am certified in both adult and pediatric First Aid/​CPR/​AED.
