Alan S.
Business Owner
I grew up in a suburb of Newark, New Jersey. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from UC Berkeley. I attended graduate school at the U. of Oklahoma where I trained to be a psychologist and therapist. I received my Ph.D. in counseling psychology in 1976. I wrote my doctoral dissertation on family therapy through Stanford. Until 1989, I worked as a clinical psychologist in Colorado and Wyoming and as a family therapist in Southern California. I was licensed in California as a Marriage, Family and Child Therapist from 1977 through 1989.
I changed careers in 1989. Please call me and I will be glad to discus the reasons for my decision and other aspects of my background and practice. After law school, Claudia Bravo Silverman and I started our practice in her hometown of San Francisco where we practice family law. My background in psychology assists me in helping our clients cope with difficult times and in settling or effectively litigating their cases.
