Beyond poor service. Unprofessional. Low quality. Customer service horrible. Beware. I decided to give this small under staffed Men’s Waxing boutique a second try. The First experience was just below average. I showed up early for my online appointment and ended up waiting 13 minutes for the owner to get organized and finish up with her previous client. I get it, she is trying to run an efficient operation with more technology and less headcount (owner operator). I forgive and move on with my appointment. She seemed distracted about a new location and the waxing result was just above average. The second time was NOT A CHARM. I went online to book my appointment and although I was a registered user from before had to redo my entire registration!!! OH MY! 1^st RED FLAG. Well finally get an appointment that is less than ideal. On my way over to the little tucked away shop, there is a major traffic accident, so I am the one who is a bit late, I will come back to that. I arrive, NO PARKING!!! 10AM on a Friday and NO CUSTOMER PARKING, further delays… Well I show up, no one in front (my actual appointment time has not expired mind you — plenty of time left to accomplish a brow cleanup). I waited 40 minutes in the small cramped lobby, for her to finish with the customer she obviously saw earlier than planned, hoping she was actually trying to be efficient in order to fit me in or work with me on a new timeslot somehow (you know, me, the actual customer). Well not going to happen, she comes out to the lobby stares at me says I am not her next customer. I asked if she could be flexible, she responded in a very condescending way (almost as if I had offended her — I am certain that she believes this is just being «assertive») She was not interested in re-​scheduling, she was not interested in flexibility, she was not interested in her customer. She certainly was not interested in seeking to understand and accommodate for her long term business benefit. Don’t forget on the first appointment I WAITED FOR HER and then listened to HER DRONE on about HER. When her customer needed some flexibility it was not worth her time.

So, first things first: This is a men’s waxing studio! My friend and I needed to get our brows waxed on Saturday, and he’s been seeing Amanda who works here for years, so we made appointments and headed over. The studio is right in the heart of Carlsbad Village, with lots of parking in front. It’s located in building B.
Even though I’m clearly not a man, Amanda made me feel comfortable and it wasn’t a big deal at all that I was there. She did an AMAZING job on my eyebrows, making them even, as the last girl who waxed them left them slightly asymmetrical. Also, Unilocal I’m about to get sooo real with you: Amanda waxed my nose hairs. It’s a thing, it happened, and it didn’t hurt at all. NOT AT ALL. Crazy, right? Amanda’s fun and sweet and great at what she does… I now understand why my friend won’t see anyone else and I HIGHLY recommend her!
PS ladies — if you’re not comfortable coming to a men’s studio, she works at another studio as well that isn’t strictly for men. Go see her, I promise you won’t regret it!

Jennifer is the best. I called around to several places before I chose Jennifer. This was my first wax and she made me very comfortable. She was very professional and great at her job. I would definitely use her again and refer her to anyone that is looking to get a wax, especially men.

Absolutely, hands down, the best! I get a brazilian here quite often and I really love her! I even got my boyfriend to get them with me and he loves her. He is soo shy and i never thought i could get him to go but now he suggests it and its his idea to go! She makes it a completely comfortable experience each and every time. I was really nervous at first but she quickly made me feel comfortable. I am a baby each and every time and bless her heart for putting up with me! 100% recommended! Love her!

This place has now been slightly remodeled and it’s really pretty :) I went here for my very first waxing and i was freaking out. Jennifer calmed my nerves. She was very honest about the whole process too and she was very sanitary.
The bed sheet was fresh and clean without any stains. She didn’t double dip (i can’t imagine an aesthetician doing that. EWW). She was very thorough with the whole process. I was excited for my next visit!

I miss Jennifer. She is really good at what she does! She makes the appointment casual with friendly conversation. I never felt terribly embarrassed, and she always remembered how our conversations left off. I move around a lot, and Jennifer is one of the best aesthetician I have been too. I highly recommend her.

Received a great Male Brazillian from Jennifer yesterday. It was the first time for me so I was nervous about it. Jennifer was very patient and walked me through the procedure and different materials before we started. She is very skilled at this art. She worked confidently and professionally through the procedure and was not at all squeamish about handling the «parts.» It was not as painful as I expected it to be. It sounded worse than it felt. Hair removal on the genital areas were actually the least painful part. Some of the tweezing of individual hairs was a little hard to take but Jennifer kept that to a minimum. The results were excellent with no sign of significant skin irritation. I will return in about month for my next treatment. Jennifer gets my strongest recommendation.

Jennifer is absolutely the best at what she does. I have been here 4 or 5 times in the past year, and she is always so flexible with me as appointments and services are concerned. She understands that it takes me quite a while to drive from Chula Vista to come see her, so she is not concerned at all if I am a couple of minutes late. Every time that I see her she automatically remembers our conversations and greets me as a friend that she has known for years.
Just this past weekend I had to call her for an emergency appointment. I tried to book an appointment on her website but there were none that I would be able to get to. She called me back and immediately added time to her Friday night, happily.
As the appointment was almost finished I asked her if she could add my torso and she didn’t even blink before saying that she would do it.
I cannot say enough about Jennifer and her business. I even booked my wife an appointment for the next day and she had nothing but rave reviews as well.
The drive is completely worth it. And if it is hard for you to plan ahead that traffic on the north 5 is going to be bad at certain times of the day because it is the best way to L.A., that is your own fault. That is why your GPS shows you traffic updates. And don’t believe the review that says that it is hard to find. As you arrive, walk into the courtyard and it will be the first office space on your left on the bottom floor. Really hard to miss the suite 100 sign.

As Alex S. said, «NEVER AGAIN.» I found Pure Waxing online and booked an appt. to have my eyebrows waxed. Upon entering the shopping center where Pure Waxing is located, I realized there are actually several suite 100’s, which made finding the location pretty difficult to find. After fully circling the shopping center twice, I reached the door to Pure Waxing at 3:08 (my appt. was scheduled for 3 PM). I found the door at Pure Waxing locked, and the location was not clearly marked (there was a tiny sign in the front window), but the business is being operated out of a suite with a large sign above the door that is not «Pure Waxing». Upon looking inside, I did not see anyone and the there were next to no lights on. I knocked on the door, but no one came. I started to walk away, and then I saw a woman walking around inside at the back, so I knocked again. Jennifer came to the door and did not welcome me in; I told her about my appt. and asked if I was at the right place. Jennifer replied that I would have been at the right place at 3 PM. I informed her that I had a tough time finding the place, as it was my first time coming to see her (I am staying in the area visiting family); she proceeded to berate me shaking her head and continually repeating that I should have called her. She then stated that I was 13 minutes late to my 15 minute appt. (which I was not) and that she had finished her previous client 20 minutes before I came in. It was unclear as to whether or not she was actually going to proceed with my appt., but at that point I did not want someone with such a horrible, unprofessional attitude waxing my eyebrows, so I stated that I did not feel comfortable with her services and I was on my way out, at which point she yelled to me,“That’s fine!”
I have NEVER, EVER received such disrespectful and unprofessional service (let alone from an actual business owner!). I was a first-​time client and her business is not easy to find. I can only conclude that the high reviews here for Jennifer are from close friends. Do not deal with Jennifer’s attitude — do yourself a favor and go somewhere where your business is actually appreciated!

I’d been to another aesthetician for a wax twice, but there just didn’t seem to be the right «fit.» As a guy, having a waxing procedure is stressful enough on any number of levels, so I have to be totally comfortable with the person doing the waxing. Based on a number of good reviews here, I decided to give Jennifer a try. Wow… the difference between the two was like night and day.
Not only did she make me feel at ease straightaway, but she explained everything so well that I knew I’d made the right choice. And although waxing is never painless, I have to say that her technique and skill made the experience much less uncomfortable than my previous waxer. Jennifer is as professional as they come, genuinely concerned about her client’s comfort, and reasonably priced as well. It’s great that you can make appointments directly on her website, and she sends you an email reminder in advance. She even offers new clients $ 10 off if you book online. Easy as can be.
If you’re a man looking for this type of service, you will not be sorry if you give Pure Waxing and Jennifer a try! Highly recommended!

Jennifer & Pure waxing has become my one and only routine appt. I had a bikini wax before going to her but never a brazillian & i had a poor bikini wax experience @ european wax center. A co-​worker highly recommened i see Jennifer for my first brazilian experience & i am hooked. She makes you feel so comfortable and calm. She understands the inevitable pain and pays attention to your pain tolerance. I was so scared my first time but after that never again! She trully is talented at what she does. I’ve been going to Jennifer for about five months now, after becoming frustrated with declining quality and professionalism from my previous waxer. I intentionally waited a while to do my review, but it’s time.
I can’t imagine a better experience for a male brazilian. Jennifer is friendly, efficient, thorough, professional, caring… I could go on. Everything you could expect or want from an esthetician.
Her techniques for pain management are excellent, and let’s face it, waxing is never going to be a pain-​free process. But Jennifer genuinely cares, pays attention to how your skin (and you) are responding. She is a self-​proclaimed perfectionist, and takes the time to get every hair she can, tweezing as necessary to leave you smooth as can be.
Her pricing is competitive. She rewards loyal customers with discounts for pre-​booking. Her appointment-​setting process is painless, and the reminder emails are a nice touch.
If you’re considering getting waxed for the first time, or if you’re not satisfied with your current waxer, do yourself a favor and see Jennifer. She’s as good as it gets. Five Stars.
