Had a fall today and broke my front bridge on a sidewalk. He took me in last minute and fixed me a temporary so I can have a nice smile till I get a permanent bridge. I appreciate that he was able to do this toward the end of his busy day. No Half ass job. Not only that he referred me to several dentist that can work on the permanent bridgework. Thanks, Dr. Molinar and staff for your help today.

I did not like this dentists. He charged me $ 50 for canceling a cleaning apt with more than 24 hours notice. Tells inappropriate jokes and stories while his hands are in your mouth. Stay away. We switched to Dr Bell and have been very happy.

Today Dr. Molinar gave me a comprehensive oral cancer screening. I was vastly impressed as no dentist in my 60 plus dental history had ever done anything similar. The most any dentist ever did for oral cancer screening was to run his gloved finger around in my mouth and ask me to stick out my tongue! I found out today what *should* have been done.
Dr. Molinar shone a bright light into my mouth and checked carefully everywhere. He gently held my tongue and moved it left, right, up and down checking all sides and underneath it. He then palpated under my jaw and all around my neck and the back of my head, feeling for anything suspicious. Finally, he had me swallow while he held his fingers on my throat so he could check the size of my thyroid gland. All findings (thankfully, all of mine were normal) were dictated to his assistant and noted in my records. And there was no extra charge for the screening as Dr. Molinar told me it is included in the general dental care for all his patients.
I find Dr. Molinar to be a very thorough and careful dentist who takes his time to do his work correctly while caring very much for the comfort and health of his patients. My experience today raised my respect for him even higher.

After six years of avoiding going to the dentist, I finally bit the bullet and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Molinar. My experience was, by far, the best I’ve ever had at a dental office. Dr. Molinar and his staff are friendly, intellectually curious, and accommodating. They will explain everything to you so you aren’t left wondering what’s going on. Unlike my previous dentist, I didn’t feel like they were constantly trying to upsell me on every procedure imaginable.
Perhaps best of all is some of the technology Dr. Molinar’s office uses. They have an air abrasion device that can painlessly remove cavities, without even needing to numb you. I went in for some gum disease issues and they also had some sort of sonic device that was able to remove tartar from below my gum line, also without any pain.
If you’ve been putting off seeing the dentist for fear of painful, expensive procedures and judgmental attitudes, do yourself a favor and call to make an appointment right now. You will be able to rest assured that you are receiving the best care possible from a team that actually cares. Seriously, don’t let your oral health continue to worsen – get it fixed right now.

I am writing this on my husbands behalf as he does not have a Unilocal account but really wanted me to leave a review. My husband has despised going to the dentist since he has been a kid and always comes home annoyed after visiting the dentist. His visits to Mr. Molinar’s office were totally different.
He really enjoyed the whole staff and said the actual Doctor was the best Dentist he has ever experienced.
We recently moved to Carlsbad and this will now be our family dentist. He highly recommends this office for everyone, especially those like him who fear going to the dentist.

Need a filling? Too scared because you don’t want a shot or to get numb? Air abrasion is the way to go! I had my first session last week with Dr. M and it was painless! I literally had sand blasted into my mouth. Yes, I said sand. White grainy sand like from the beaches in Hawaii. I pretty much got a free facial. :) hopefully I don’t need to get a filling again but if I do this is now my go to method! Absolutely painless! Thanks Dr. Molinar!

I am so impressed with the services and friendliness. I called and they told me to come in immediately. I never even sat down in the waiting room because they brought me right back to address the extreme pain I was in. Right from the get go the friendliness factor was awesome. They put me at ease. The doc quickly assessed where my pain was and then gently began his work. I was super nervous, it is dental work after all, but Theresa and the doc put me at ease. Explained everything and walked me through it. I am actually excited for when I go back to get my regular work done now. Excellent experience!!!

BEWARE of the dentist who does work that is unnecessary! that’s what happened to me. WHY would a dentist do work that didn’t need to be done but DO work that wasn’t? for MONEY! NOT a good, ethical dentist if you ask me!

Dr M is the best! Not only is he funny, he makes you feel comfortable and explains everything he is doing to your mouth. Seems trivial maybe but I like to know exactly what is going on! He really cares about his patients. I originally contacted him with some pain via his website after hours. I got a phone call from the Doctor himself that very night! How much more special can one feel? He goes above and beyond. Don’t hesitate to make an appointment with Dr Molinar — and tell him I say hi!

Sarah the dental hygienist was great. Due to my sensitive gums I was apprehensive about the cleaning. She took great care to explain each procedure and kept checking to make sure I was okay. I’ve already booked my next appointment with her. Thank you :)

Staff is friendly doctor is ok. I had a new patient appointment and he walked into the room and didn’t introduce himself at all.

I wish that Dr. Molinar was covered by my new insurance. I never realized the value of an honest dentist until I started seeing new dentist that overcharged my by hundreds for procedures that were covered. Dr. Molinar was always honest with me and I never had any issues whatsoever. Now, I am out searching for a good dentist and I wish I could go back to Dr. Molinar. His office was always kind and professional. I would highly recommend him to anyone and go back if my insurance covered his office. I went to his office for years and was always happy with the results, even though going to the dentist is never fun! :)

I have been seeing Dr. Molinar since about 2007. I’ve been through different jobs, lived in different towns… but through my insurance, always managed to find my way back to Dr. Molinar if I felt I needed to have some dental work done. Of course, I know of a couple existing issues, but who has time or money, to fix everything in their mouth just because it’s needed. I wish I did! I never thought to write a review for Dr. Molinar until after a conversation I had with my husband on Saturday night (10÷12÷13)!
In early 2012, at the suggestion of my husband, I found a dentist locally (Poway) and went to him for an exam, x-​rays, and a little bit of dental work. For reasons I don’t wish to discuss, he rubbed me the wrong way, professionally. I decided to go back to Dr. Molinar & have a fresh exam done, get his opinion about my teeth, & start over. I’d been to a couple appointments (this time around) before I tried to make appointments for my kids & husband. He’s about a 45 minute drive from me. They’re not open weekends, but because I’m so far away, he & his dental assistant accommodated my family by working it out so we could come in on a Saturday. One by one, he worked on me, & did thorough exams on my husband & two daughters. It’s a great start to getting their dental needs met… and MUCH appreciated!
After our appointments were over, we left, went to the mall & did a little shopping, and got some lunch… then we all went home. After the kids went to bed that night, my husband and I were sitting on the couch watching TV & he paused it & said, «You know, I want to tell you something.»
He told me something he’d never said before… he said that it bothered him so much that I HAD to go all the way to Carlsbad to get my teeth worked on. It’s such a drive, we have good insurance, there are plenty of dentists in Poway, or surrounding areas… he didn’t understand why I had to go through all that to go see Dr. Molinar. He said, «After today… I totally get it!» He told me that he got up with the girls, he was stressed out, pressed for time, had to drive all that way (grumbling about it), had to fill out the dental paperwork (which I did 99.9% of!)… and it was all just to get in a chair to have his teeth looked at! He said that when he got in the chair & Dr. Molinar started talking to him, he started feeling better. He said that by the time we left, «that guy turned my day around!» We spent ½ hour talking about our trip to the dentist! My husband was just astonished at how he felt before vs. how he feels now. I love it!
It’s awesome for ME that my husband sees what I do in my choice of a dentist, and can tell me, «Now I get it!» Dr. Molinar explains everything, every step of the way… leaves nothing for interpretation. He gives you facts & information about why & how to do things… explains possibilities for the reasoning behind scenarios so that you’re better able to understand what may be causing them… and with my 4 person family, we all have different needs & dental situations, so we need all the information we can get!
If you’re the type of person that doesn’t want to get stuck on a «dental conveyor belt,» you feel the need to understand what’s going on, & you want to deal with someone that you can trust… I definitely recommend Dr. Molinar for you & your family!

I’ve been going to Dr. Molinar for about 2 yrs now and I think that he does good work. He seems like a bit of a perfectionist which is why some people may think that he recommends things that don’t need to be done. I think he likes to catch things early. That being said, he did recommend that I have some crowns replaced which I did not think I needed. I talked with a friend who is in the same field and she said that decay can happen under existing crowns, and that they typically last about 10 yrs so I did get them replaced. The only thing I find a bit annoying is when the office assistants call me with a reminder call, they always want me to call back and confirm. You should only have to call back if you can’t make the appointment. I find this to be REALLY annoying!

It has been years since I’ve been to Dr. Molinar, but I wanted to put in a good review nonetheless! Especially since I’ve been to different dentists in my own area and have been able to compare…
He was really great. He knew what he was doing and I felt he was trustworthy in giving me the best care, but on top of it he had a fun personality. He’d make jokes and just lighten up the environment a bit. He was professional as well, and had a way of telling you like it is in terms of what you needed to do without exuding judgement.
He was the dentist who got to pull all four of my wisdom teeth too. It went very smoothly.
He also was the first dentist to make me understand that because of these gaps under my back teeth, I needed to floss in a certain manner in order to really make sure I was getting all the gunk out. He illustrated how to do this, and what he meant. My teeth are like the ultimate trap and that was causing some problems. This is something I didn’t realize before.
The only reason I stopped going to him was because I got married (not under my parent’s insurance anymore) and moved away. But I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I woke up one morning, completely alarmed because half my tooth was gone. And even worse, it was right in front. I couldn’t even smile. My first words, «OMG call Dr. Molinar.»
He was off at the time, but I called anyway. He answered immediately. I explained what had happened and the first thing he asked was, «Are you in any pain?» I said, «No pain, but it looks terrible and I have a job interview coming up.» He saw me immediately.
While working on my tooth Dr. Molinar informed me of another tooth that I was about to lose if I didn’t take care of it. I kind of knew this already and was avoiding it because I am not to financially steady at this time. He showed me ex-​rays of the tooth and a few others that had problems right now that could be taken care of. He explained to me carefully about each tooth and exactly what was happening in great detail. He also said he wanted me to know this now, so I was at least aware and could make informed decisions about the work I needed. He even used model sets and pictures as visuals, which were very helpful. He put absolutely no pressure on me to have work done, but told me what I needed to know about my teeth and how to take better care of them in the future.
I know by past experiences how important it is to take care of a problem when it first happens before it gets worse. Dr. Molinar takes precautions with his patients because he doesn’t want them to have to wait till they’re in pain and end up spending more money. I am so happy that Dr. Molinar worked on five of my teeth, because I know for a fact that if I didn’t get a few of these done.(just some light work), that I would lose them in the next year of two. Or at least they would start breaking apart.
Thank you Dr. Molinar. You’re my hero! It’s obvious you truly care about your patients and the lives they lead. You are not only a great dentist but also a great person. You have a patient for life. I truly owe you and you know that’s the truth.

I have been going to Dr. Molinar for over 10 years easily. I have always been very please with my services… He is personable, professional and efficient at what he does. The Dr.‘s staff is very welcoming and very friendly. I have sent several people to him throughout the years and I have heard nothing but great things about Dr Molinar. 5 STARS!

I’ve got 9 cavities in my mouth as I type this. It’s my insurance that is preventing me from getting them filled, not his office. I even have a separate savings for it.
Office is clean and welcoming, and the staff is super friendly. Even the receptionist, who I totally sympathize with having to be on the phone allllll day in an office, is never anything less than fantastic.
