Top quality spa with great massages and great facilities.
I’d give it 5 stars but the prices are ridiculously high and they charge a 20% «service charge» in addition to whatever total you agree to and in addition to whatever cash tip you leave.
That kind of thing always leaves a bad taste for me. But the service and facilities are excellent.

My family’s Christmas present to me this year was a therapeutic massage at the Aviara Spa. I loved everything about this spa. From the moment I entered, I was greeted with a smile and shown around. The locker room and relaxation rooms were quiet, clean and peaceful with all the toiletries you would need in the former and magazines, drinks, and light snacks in the latter. My masseuse, Jesse, did an excellent job with the right amount of pressure and I felt phenomenal for a couple of weeks afterwards. The worst part of it is now I feel spoiled and want to go back!

Had the 50 minute facial with Kasey K. today and it was wonderful. Probably one of the most relaxing facials I have ever had. My skin was glowing afterwards. I would highly recommend a facial with Kasey, she was amazing. I stayed at the Hyatt Aviara and both he hotel and spa are lovely. The spa itself was very nice and the costumer service by all employees was top notch. Highly recommend

I’ve been meaning to try this spa for years, but finally had the opportunity to book a treatment this past weekend.
Booked the Couples «Spark at the Park.» This is two 50 minute Massages, and then you have an hour in the Couples’ Suite with Chocolate Covered Strawberries and two glasses of Champagne.
Upon check-​in at the hotel, there was a mini-​scroll from the spa welcoming us for our treatment. Cute.
We arrived 30 minutes prior to treatment. Locker rooms/​facilities/​relaxation room were nice, but standard. It was pretty quiet since I booked at the end of the day (5pm). Staff was very friendly.
Couples massage was good with aromatherapy and at this point I would say this was 4 stars. However, when we stepped into Couples’ Suite after massage, this was fantastic. Fireplace burning, your own private outdoor jacuzzi w/​umbrellas providing privacy, chocolate covered strawberries, champagne, bottled evian water and a huge private shower (one note about shower, not all the shower heads worked; its supposed to have 7 heads but only 4 were working). They provided a phone w/​menu in case you wanted to order additional items. This suite made it a 5 star experience.
Highly recommend and would go again.

Let me start by saying that I have never been to a real spa before. Manicures and Pedicures do not count or hold up against this place. After having a particularly stressful exam week, I needed a time out.
The whole day started off amazingly because there is no parking here, it’s ALL VALET. You couldn’t even park your car if you wanted to. I was fine with that. I was then directed to the Spa in the bottom of the hotel where I was to check in for my treatments. Check in was smooth and effortless.
The facilities for the women are so nice! You are given a locker with a code combo that holds a fresh robe and sandals. There are counters to get ready at after your treatments, private showers, along with a spa, dry sauna and moist sauna. Fresh lime-​iced water can be found next to the saunas with oil infused toilets to take in with you.
After you are done changing they ask that you wait in the relaxation room, where your therapist will come meet you. This room is beautiful and warm. Fresh orchids are all over the place and in-​between the comfortable lounge chairs. There is also a fireplace, refreshments, snacks and magazines to add to the experience. (Although it was so bright, it hurt my eyes. I wish I was wearing sunglasses)
50 Minute Ritual Facial– So relaxing and I felt like my skin was glowing. My technician was so nice and answered any questions I had about taming my stress-​ridden skin.
50 Minutes Ritual Message– As equally relaxing and stress-​relieving. My technician also gave me tips on stretching and relieving the knots I get in certain places. (I would pass on the parafin add-​ons. Not really worth it)
Once you’ve had a spa treatment you are able to use the facilities for the rest of the day. I took advantage of this and you probably should, too. I needed to get all the oils off my skin before getting re-​dressed. A shower later, razors are even provided, and I was on my way! Definitely coming back :)

I have been to this spa twice now during each of my visits. Both times I had great service and an excellent massage by Jennifer. The relaxation room is pretty lackluster, but they make up for it with an incredible massage. I would highly recommend visiting this spa, if you are staying at the hotel or are in the area.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time here this afternoon. The masseuse were very skillful, attentive, respectful, and courteous. The facility was very clean and inviting. The ambiance was so relaxing that I even stayed in the relaxation/​waiting room awhile (and dozed off) before going back up to our room. (This spa is on the 1^st floor of the Park Hyatt).

Love relaxing at the four seasons spa. Nice environment, however the facial was decent, didn’t really see a change with my skin after the facial. The jacuzzi was quite cold.

I am torn about giving this spa 3 stars but I feel like there are some positives and some negatives so I guess the 3 stars fits the review. My husband and I were at the Park Hyatt Aviara celebrating our 20^th anniversary. We reserved the couples retreat which entitles you to a side by side couples massage, use of the couples suite for an hour which has private whirlpool, large shower for two and a nice relaxation area as well as chocolate covered strawberries. I also reserved a pumpkin latte facial (the special facial of the month) for myself immediately following our massages.
I will start with the good. The spa is clean and pleasant. The therapists were excellent. Our massage therapists were very good and pleasant and we enjoyed our massages immensely. I particularly liked my facial therapist, Kacey. She spent a lot of time with me, explained the beneficial things my face needed and did a wonderful job. My skin definitely looked and felt better after I left there. I would come back to this particular spa just to see her again.
Now for the not so great. The first thing was that the large shower that was supposed to accommodate both of us, didn’t work. There were multiple shower heads and only one worked, which was a bummer. Really no big deal but slightly annoying since we paid for it. After our massages were through, I waited for over 20 minuted for my next service and no one ever came. I went to the desk to ask what was going on and they said they had no record of me scheduling a facial. I knew exactly who I spoke to on the phone and even remembered everything she told me. The told me they would speak to her and could offer me to come back. I was not thrilled about coming back as we had a busy next couple days planned. I did wind up going back on Sunday for my facial, which I am glad I did because I really enjoyed it but I was not happy at the time. Not sure how they got this wrong. The did offer me a discount on my services which I thought was appropriate.
As far as the actual spa goes, its ok. I have been to much better spas with better amenities for sure. They didn’t have a lot of the standard things such as deodorant, hairspray, etc. There were pretty basic amenities but the nice extras were not there. Especially since this spa is as pricey as those others that have those amenities. Overall, I enjoyed my time there and would go back just to see Kacey but I might try some others in the area next time. I hear the La Costa spa is nice too so I might give it a try.

It was my first time at the aviara spa and I was very pleased with my visit! The staff was very friendly and we were very well received. I got a 50 min ritual massage which went very well, however I wish that the lights were more deemed or that there would have been some candles lit up. I felt a bit uncomfortable at first due to the brightness of the room and did not immediately feel at ease. The choice of massaging oil was pretty straighforward since they only offer three different oils that you can mix up to your choice. After closing my eyes and getting the massage started I started to feel more relaxed although I did make the effort to keep my eyes closed. Also I did notice that the same song was playing in repeat, with a tiny bug/​repeat that I noticed during my massage (maybe a cd scratch?).The spa was well accomodated with snacks and drinks to all the guests and the resting area was very enjoyable and we even went and checked out the adult pool. In overall, I had a great time there although I think that the services are a bit overpriced.

The best. If you are in or near Carlsbad, check out the spa and stay all day. The service is wonderful, the treatments worth the price, and the facilities top notch. Avoid La Costa and go here!

One of the reasons we picked the Park Hyatt Aviara was the spa. My husband is a big fan of massages and insisted I experience one for myself, so we booked two at the same time.
The locker rooms were clean and well-​appointed, with a small therapeutic hot tub in each. Both before and after treatment, the staff puts you in a serene waiting room with small bites of food, juice, water, and tea, and encourages relaxation. I’m not a relaxer by nature, but my husband was half-​asleep by the time he sat down on the chaise lounge.
As for the massage, I had a very sweet and sociable masseuse named Jamie, who was so accommodating (even when I admitted that I wasn’t a spa kind of person). She spent 50 minutes working on me and even wrote down the body parts she had focused on, the aromatherapy choices, and what I should do to feel even better.
Yes, spa services at a 5-​star resort are going to be expensive. But even as someone who won’t be returning too often (to any spa, not a statement on Aviara), I think it was well worth the money.

Pricey? You bet. But with the old adage of «you get what you pay for», the Aviara Spa at the Park Hyatt Aviara is a beautiful spa and the people who work there pushed it over the edge to a perfect 5 star rating.
First of all, the facility. Renewed a couple of years ago– this is a lovely and tranquil spot. From the spotless locker rooms with separate whirlpool and sauna, to the wonderful products that smell so good (even the hand soap) to the private relaxation lounge– your first steps into the area assures you that this is going to be a special experience.
The shared relaxation area is really lovely. Natural light pours in from the glass ceiling, a fireplace at one end allows you to cozy up with a warm cup of team while at the other end of the room, water softly trickles from a fountain while you recline in lounge chairs. The snacks are changed often in this area from little quiche tarts, cheese sticks and fruit for breakfast, to nuts, fruits and shortbread for a mid morning snack. And as an avid tea drinker– I love the loose teas with tea bags ready to self stuff. And the woman (Maria?) that stocked the room was a delight– telling me that I should try one of the cookies as it would go great with my tea. It was almost as if I was a guest in her own home! (and she was right– those shortbread cookies were delicious!)
But as good as all of that was– the services I received were even better. My massage was done in a room with an outside window, shuttered but letting in natural light. Most massages I get are very functional but this one combined functional with some nice touches– a little aromatherapy with my choice of scents, a warm neck wrap, scented eye covers and warm towels on my back and feet. Ahhhh.
And my facial was just as delightful with my skin looking amazing when I walked out of the room. In fact, I was so relaxed that I just sat in the relaxation area for about 30 minutes while I collected my wits with a warm cup of tea!
The prices are more than what I usually pay. The massage ran about $ 170 and the facial about the same. But the extra pampering was worth the money.
And I must also address the welcoming staff. I had been down to the spa a couple of times to workout (yes the workout facility of the hotel is in the spa). The staff welcomed me everyday and went out of their way to coordinate my appointments so that I left a satisfied client. They even gave me a free small gift when I left after my services. And this woman remembered my name (I wish I could remember hers) as she called me by it each time I walked into her area. Sometimes it’s just the little things that put a smile on my face.
Ahhh…the Spa at Aviara. Just what a great spa should be!

We have been coming to the Aviara spa for seven years. It is the only part of the Aviara that has maintained it’s previous «Four Seasons» level of service and quality. I have never had a treatment that was not amazing. My husband agrees! Great spa! Awesome massages, AMAZING facials, wonderful facilities and professional, top-​notch staff.

Disappointing.
I got a massage here a few years ago and was pretty disappointed by 1) the quality of the massage (seemed like a novice masseuse), 2) the price (definitely overpriced for the caliber of treatment and amenities) and 3) size of facilities/​lack of amenities. This spa is comparable in price to La Costa Spa, which is AMAZING in terms of its facilities and amenities. With La Costa Spa being right down the street, Four Seasons definitely has some fierce competition.
