Sarah was a huge help to work with and also a great pleasure to chat to. They have great taste and are very personable, and truly want you to walk out with the best looking frames possible. Amazing selection of glasses and absolutely excellent customer service. Sara was so knowledgable about their product options and really helpful and patient in helping me choose exactly the right pair of sunglasses to suit my face shape. They carry the latest styles from every designer brand you can imagine, but have options for all budgets. Simply the best!

Sara and Jordan at Andrews Optical get 5 stars for customer service, product knowledge and enthusiasm in my book. I personally have a difficult prescription but these girls took over an hour with me from start to finish in finding frames (that were 20% off) and the best lens material for my situation. They both were very accommodating and eager to find what would work best for me as an individual. They made what for me is normally a stressful endeavor into a fun adventure.

I wear both contacts and glasses. I used my insurance benefits for my contacts since I wear them every day; but also wanted an updated pair of glasses that had a better style. While I really like my opthalmologist, his office doesn’t have a great supply of frames, so when I heard about Andrews, I thought I’d check them out.
When you walk in, you almost become claustrophobic because the shop is WALL to WALL frames. I’m not talking last year’s going out of season frames, but current frames that are in colors and styles that are almost overwhelming. Thankfully, Diane and her team know how to help you make that critical decision; but with their prices (and coupons found in the Community Guide), hey why not get more than one pair?
I made my selection, thanks to the help of Sandra, and chose a great Tory Burch pair that really complemented my face, coloring and style! They can do Care Credit, VSP, MES and just about any type of financing (deposit up front). I’m glad that I stopped in and will definitely be back for any future optical needs!

They have a customer for life over here! I’m a first timer in the glasses club, so I was completely new to this experience. After researching local shops that took my insurance, I landed on Andrews Optical. From the moment I walked in, Sara helped me from start to finish. She really took her time to help me find the right glasses and didn’t try to over sell me on anything. I ordered mine literally at the cut off of the end of the year, so I didn’t expect my glasses to be on time… but they were! I was so pleased with my experience that my boyfriend ended up getting his glasses ordered from them as well! All the women in there are so helpful and just really nice people. If you are looking a shop with excellent customer service and an outstanding selection of glasses, Andrews Optical is for you.

I will never go anywhere else! The customer service from Andrews Optical is absolutely above and beyond any one else! I don’t even know what I did before I found this gem of an optical store. I have sent any and all of my sight impaired friends and acquaintances and even strangers when they ask me where I got my fantastic glasses!

When I first purchased my glasses the optician did not measure correctly and I have progressive bifocals. So I have to tip my head up to see right in front of me. The owner refused to send them back and have them redone even though I know these people get one redo for free. The frames they sold me began flaking almost immediately. Then when the screw broke the owner was so cold and unhelpful I will never go back to this place.

Overall, very big selection and great service. Highly recommend.
I bought my first pair of prescription sunglasses here, and I am so happy with the purchase! Diane was extremely helpful in choosing a pair and outlining all of the different options and costs that came along with different styles. The glasses were ready quickly and they look great.

On vacation in Carlsbad and my Oakley sunglasses broke. Popped in on the off chance that they could help and the salesperson went out of her way to see what she could do. While the fix was pretty easy she didn’t have to help but in the end not only fixed them but didn’t charge me a penny!

I was recommended to Andrew’s Optical by a friend about 5 years ago and have been loyal ever since. Diane has always been incredibly helpful and friendly. She always gets me out the door within my budget and with a pair of glasses I love (until I lose them of course!). This is a store with excellent community values and business integrity. I will continue to be a patron of Andrew’s Optical and refer my friends to her (I have already and all of them have been stoked too!). Thank you Diane and team!

When my husband needed new glasses, I decided to research optical shops in our neighborhood, instead of ordering lenses and frames at my place of work (I work in a hospital, with a clinic attached that has a small optical shop). Anyway, we walked into Andrews Optical as it first opened it’s doors, and the owner was the only one working. As there were a few customers ahead of us, hubby went to browse for frames and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of stock for men’s frames. The owner informed us that most optical shops only stock around 20% for men’s frames and the rest are women’s frames. She likes to keep her selection for men’s frames at 40%, and therefore tends to get a nice male clientele. She was very helpful in finding several frames close to the current frames my husband was wearing, and he was able to make a good choice. Mind you, we had gone to Walmart, Lensecrafters, and some other shops in the area, and he walked out without finding one frame he liked, let alone 5 – 6 frames from Andrew’s. They take MES vision, so the cost of frames, lenses, coatings and transition lenses came down in price from over $ 700 to under $ 300. What a deal!
I then ordered my reading glasses from Andrew’s Optical, and I was quite pleased with the service and selection. I am eying their Maui Jim sunglasses, which I’m pleased to learn you can order prescription lenses for Maui Jim’s. I love the fact that when we both received our glasses they included a polishing cloth and cleaning fluid for our new glasses. They also told my husband to come back before 2 years are up, and they will re-​coat his lenses for free, since transitions tend to wear out after a while. That’s a nice perk. I will definitely shop here from now on for any glass wear need.

I love this place! The designer eyewear selection is so awesome. The people that work there are extremely helpful and the prices are good too! They gave me an extra pair at 50% off.

Diane is great. I’ve been going to her for years, and been though I moved to the Bay area (where there are plenty of optical boutiques), I make special trips to see her when I come back to SD. She is friendly and knowledgable, has a great in-​store selection, and can special order nearly everything. She makes an effort to get things done quickly and perfectly.
My aunt drives down from LA when she needs new glasses, and Diane spends as much time as needed making sure she ends up with frames that flatter her face and accommodate her thick prescription.

My wife and I shop Andrews Optical and find that the service is top-​notch and that their selection is excellent. I noticed that they stock quality inventory and that they accomodate a price range from the lower budget to fancy-​schmancy (you get what you pay for). The customer service is top-​notch, and these guys are experts. We have never been disappointed.

Nicest, best-​stocked optometry shop I have ever been in. I saw a lot of specialty frames, including Oakley, which is a favorite sun-​glass line of mine. They are open seven days a week, have glasses at every price range and owner is super nice.

I totally recommend Andrews Optical to all my friends! When it comes to customer service, it’s like shopping at Nordstrom. Andrews has so many brand names to choose from and from what I have found the price is lower or comparable to most doctors offices and other eyeglass/​sunglass retailers.
Not only that I love the fact that I can support our local small business owner, while getting the personalized customer service I demand.
