Outside In Organizer and Makeovers

I was fed up with being overloaded with papers and stuffing things everywhere! When Denise came over she lifted a weight off my shoulder. She spent three hours with me in my office. After a big plastic bin later she put me on a path to finishing up organizing my office. It took me the rest of the weekend to go through the rest of my paperwork and after two big hefty bags later I felt my life was getting back on track! As I sit in my office now I feel empowered to take on my to do list with ease! Thank you Denise, you are truly an inspiration and a great organizer!!! I contacted Denise after reading her other Unilocal reviews and am so glad I did. Denise responded immediately to my call and spent ample time getting to know my needs in order to to come into our appointment ready to get started. She asked great questions proving she has plenty of experience going into people’s homes and is respectful of the trust that requires. She is extremely professional, has great ideas and is an encouraging motivator for getting organized. She helped me to organize my files, office area and financial information into a simple, well thought out system. Scarves and accessories have never been my friend. Even at 43, I am just now starting to define my style. I feel torn between being fashionable but also being age appropriate. I love accessories but I don’t know how to incorporate them.
This all changed when Denise came over for my Closet Makeover. It was a fun three hours that went by way to fast. First in line, the black leather pants targeted for a consignment shop. Am I too old for leather? Should I let them go since I have only worn them once in 10 years. Within 5 minutes, she had me try on 5 different outfits with minor variations that made me feel sexy and sophisticated. She continued making outfits for hours. Digging up things in my closet that I completely forgot about. I have outfits for public speaking, date night, weddings and work.
Prior I turned to the stores for new outfits that made me feel more sophisticated and confident Who knew, they were all in my closet! Thank you Denise! You saved my wardrobe and my credit card.

I had reached a breaking point. I was unable to find things that I needed. I was putting off getting small tasks done, because I was unable to find the paper component of the project I was working on, so I would set it aside. Except there was soon no more rome to set anything aside because things had gotten out of hand.
That’s when I called Denise. I had met Denise a few years earlier and knew of her skills. Denise came out, and in three sessions, guided me through the transformation of my office from chaos to a easy navigation. Denise knows the right questions to ask, and organized based on the way I do things, so everything is intuitive. I know where everything is, and it is so easy to keep it organized now.
I highly recommend Denise, not only will she help you to get organized, It will be enjoyable as Denise is a pleasure to work with. The best part is, when things are organized, I am finding it easy to maintain. I has been over three weeks since we started and everything still gets put away. It is effortless.

Denise was born with organizational skills. I met her through the Hera Hub in Carlsbad & was interested in a workshop that she offered for «Packing Light for the Holidays». This concept is not one I had ever adhered to until I met Denise.
She taught me that I can pack light & still have a variety of options when traveling. She was extremely accommodating (met at my house & answered my last minute emails) & gave me several simple tips to pack for an overseas vacation. I was overwhelmed at the idea of packing for a 16 day trip but Denise made put me at ease.
Not only did I pack everything in one suit case, I even packed lighter than my husband & always felt like I had plenty of outfits to choose from during our trip.

I had the opportunity to go shopping with Denise and it was a fun and eye-​opening experience. I spend the majority of my time in uniform or workout clothes and rarely venture beyond jeans, t-​shirts, or the occasional cute dress, mostly because I don’t know where to begin choosing clothes. Since I’m transitioning out of the military, this was a wonderful chance to explore more professional and stylish options that work for my body type and style. She definitely had me try on clothes that I never would have taken off the rack, and in many cases I was pleasantly surprised! Denise was also very conscious of working with my comfort level and not trying to push me to buy clothes that would be impractical or that I couldn’t see myself wearing. Best of all, I learned a lot about what to look for (and avoid) so I feel better prepared to shop on my own.

Have you ever tried to fit cooked pasta back into the box? That is how I felt when my husband and I sold our large family home and downsized into our empty nester beach house. There were days that I would rather pour hot molten lava over my body than unpack, but Denise would come and make unpacking and organizing actually enjoyable. Denise’s spirit, energy, and skills are worth every dime!

We decided to do a makeover using both newly purchased items and clothes from my closet. After talking about my goals and interests with great care, we went shopping together. With her quick grasp of my needs, she picked out a wonderful group of coordinating outfits, a suit, skirts, sweaters, knit tops, and a dress. To boot, these items were reasonably priced and in my budget! I have gotten many complements about my new clothes and when I wear them I feel that these items truly flatter my figure! To cap off this experience she and I held a makeover party, during which I showed off my lovely new wardrobe and she gave my guests helpful tips on how to dress with style – and with an eye on the budget! Denise is truly a gem, and I highly recommend her services for anyone who is wondering how to work with their wardrobe and tune up their style!

I worked with Outside in Organizer on two different occasions. I was so pleased with the results on both appointments. Having 3 small kids close in age has made my time to clean up very challenging. My closets, laudry room and playroom have all suffered due to the stuff we have accumulated. On both occasions we tackled closets.
Denise was very professional, caring, understanding and efficient. What I loved most about her was that she was not judgemental, and was very respectful of all the «things» that I wanted to keep. She was able to find a better place for organizing those items that meant a lot for me to keep. After losing my job of 14 years I was exploring my options and trying to decide my next career move. I thought about becoming a Professional Organizer and attended the San Diego chapter meeting of the National Association of Professional Organizers this past November. As luck would have it I met Denise and struck up a conversation, explaining my circumstances and the reason I was at the meeting. Denise was so friendly, shared a wealth of great information on networking groups and names of other organizers I should speak with. After several emails back and forth I asked Denise if she knew of anyone who might be interested in mentoring me. Denise wrote back and said that she would be willing to mentor me. We met for a cup of coffee and we both agreed to go ahead for six months. I was so happy and we scheduled our first client visit together! Since November I have assisted Denise with over a half dozen different clients and have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge. During my work with Denise I have learned what Professional Organizing is how to interact with clients as well as the ins and outs of starting my own business. At the beginning I would just observe what Denise did, how the client reacted and took notes. The notes were shared with Denise, and she would comment on my observations, review the client’s goals, and give me encouragement to work with client’s one on one. On occasion Denise would give me assignments to work on at home, these assignments help me to focus on starting my own Professional Organizing business.
Denise is wonderful with people, takes her job seriously, she is the ultimate professional as well as a great teacher. I am so thankful for the wonderful opportunity to work with Denise and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone seeking a Professional Organizer or to any prospective organizer looking for training!

Although my current budget (almost retired! Yea!) doesn’t allow for any help with home organizing, I take full advantage of the free tips Denise offers in her advertising. These tips are always so simple, practical, and effective, I can just imagine how wonderfully and easily my home and life would be transformed if I could let her take over!

My closet was an area I dreaded entering, and I felt embarrassed when guests accidentally saw it. Since I found myself buying new clothes without weeding out the old ones, I finally had to face the reality of space — it doesn’t get any bigger. I hired Denise to help me sort through which clothes were flattering, which could be put together into outfits, and which needed to be given away (or thrown away.) Denise was so effective because of her non-​judgmental manner. Even though I had been so ashamed of my closet, from the minute we started working together, it became just a matter-​of-​fact task, with no shame attached. We actually had fun putting together clothes in ways I hadn’t imagined (she actually showed me how to use some things that I was going to throw away.) When we were done, my closet had become a very calm, organized place where I could begin my day in a non-​chaotic fashion. I am very grateful for her professional skill.

I was feeling overwhelmed with papers and my schedule. I called Denise and she rescued me and my overwhelming office. With each of her visits I was amazed at not only how quickly the time passed but also how much we had gotten done.

On moving my office to Del Mar, I hired Denise Levine to assist me with organizing my new space and setting up business processes to maintain that organization. As you might expect, Denise’s approach to organization is… er… systematic… and… organized. She put in place organization processes to deal with potential clutter as well as business processes to make non-​billable time more efficient.

I’ve been working with Denise on a regular basis, working to reclaim spaces in my house that became «catch-​all» storage areas over the years.
