True story: After moving to LA for school and striking out on five different chiropractors (my GP finally told me he wouldn’t write any more referrals) I started a bi-​weekly-​to-​monthly trek back up to Santa Cruz to see Dr. Koplen for my adjustment. Yes, I’ve been diving six hours at least once a month to see my chiropractor. He’s worth it. I’m still auditioning local chiropractors out of pocket, but until I find one I’m going to keep jumping through hoops to keep seeing him. I can’t recommend him enough.

I am extremely pleased with Michael’ services and I would recommend to anyone in the area. I hurt myself regularly enjoying extreme sports and I also just need some maintenance care doing an office job during the day. Michael helped with a most necessary adjustment after an injury and is now making sure to keep my back together and healthy for the long run. Chiropractic can be scary and he knows how to ease you into the manipulations and execute them brilliantly. I am a big fan!

I have been going to Michael since I was a kid. He has been a life saver multiple times. When I moved away for several years I tried four different chiropractors but NO ONE was able to adjust me like he does. I’m so glad I moved back! I HIGHLY recommend him!

Dr. Koplen is my favorite chiropractor in the world. In fact, I fly from Brazil to California just to visit him. Okay, truth is, I fly to visit my kids who live in the area, but one of the things I most anticipate is my visits to Dr. Koplen. I’ve been to ten or more chiropractors in my life (I’ve been an athlete all my life, so chiropractic care is a must), and he is by far the best. Only he can fix my lower back. No one else seems to be able to do it, not with stretching, tension, acupuncture, chiropractic adjustment, etc. But I sit in Michael’s chair, relax, and let him do his thing, and voilá, fixed! He helps me every time. He’s also helped my son and my daughter. I cannot recommend him highly enough… there just aren’t words for how great he is. A healer, to be sure.
I live in Brazil now, but wherever I live in the world, I will get back to him for my care (though it might just be cheaper to fly him wherever I am!). Trust him. You’ll never regret it.

Dr. Koplen is an excellent chiropractor. I’ve been having mid-​back pain for about a decade now and decided to see Dr. Koplen on a friend’s recommendation. I can’t tell you how much relief I’ve gotten since my first visit to see him. I’d done yoga, chiropractic, pilates and so many other things to try to heal my injury, but until Dr. Koplen’s adjustments, I got minimal relief. Now I find that my thoracic spine is rarely painful. If you’re looking for a great practitioner, go see him. You won’t be disappointed!

Dr. Koplen is above and beyond a Chiropractor. Going in for an adjustment is often the highlight of my day. The staff in the office are so friendly and helpful, and they always address me by name which is a first for me. The wait time is minimal, and Dr. Koplen is thorough. He also takes insurance which is a huge financial relief. He gets to know his patients and takes a real interest in them. He always asks how I’m doing beyond a simple answer. He knows that I work a stressful job and is always so supportive, offering extra advice on how to take care of myself in the safest and most preventative ways. I suffer from Chronic Back pain, TMJ and locked shoulder/​neck muscles and I have tried multiple Chiropractors, Acupuncture treatments, and massage therapists. None of those treatments could even compare to the results I received from one treatment with Dr. Koplen. I didn’t even know how painless I could feel until I found him. He won’t make you come in more than you need to just to make more money, he’s completely an honest Doctor and goes out of his way to be kind, compassionate, and to remind you that there still good and honest people in this world. I recommend Dr. Koplen to everyone I know and they feel the same way. Dr. Koplen is the best you will find.

Dr. Koplen is nothing short of top-​notch. After receiving care from several chiropractors throughout the east coast and midwest, generally feeling disappointed with short-​lived or minimal gains, I had the great fortune to receive treatment from Dr. Koplen. I felt as if I had spent my life in the minors, and finally made it to the big leagues. I had simply accepted certain chronic pains as permanent fixtures in my body, believing they were simply unfixable. But Dr. koplen relieved more tension and released more energy than I could ever imagine. Dr Koplen is amazing. Seriously. My range of motion before my appointment was abysmal, so I was desperate to be seen, but after meeting Dr Koplen, I am confident I’ve found my new chiropractor!
As a new patient, he listened to my concerns, asked relevant questions about my history and explained exactly what he was going to do before he started. I felt completely comfortable with him before he even began adjusting me. He competently diagnosed my issues, again explained what he was going to do before he adjusted me and then expertly adjusted my neck, upper back and lower back. I was giddy afterwards. I literally couldn’t stop smiling and thanking him.
My boyfriend has been going to him for years and has referred many people to him. I called my boyfriend afterwards and thanked him for making me get an appointment!
The office staff is pleasant to work with, the location is convenient and there is plenty of parking right next to the office. They’re also great about dealing with your insurance company to see what’s covered for you. So nice!
I would enthusiastically recommend him, if you’re even thinking about getting chiropractic care!

Michael Koplen is, hands-​down, the best chiropractor I’ve ever come into contact with — he’s been treating me, off and on, since the 1990s and I frankly wouldn’t trust another chiropractor to handle my spine as beautifully as Michael does. He just seems to know where to make adjustments, small and large, that change my entire physiology for the better, eradicating pain, stress, and anomalous aches that arise in my body. Michael is a healer. I came to him on a recommendation and he literally changed my life. I’d been having shocking pains in my leg and been referred around by the medical community to neurologists, MRIs, etc. When they decided it wasn’t a brain tumor they just shrugged their shoulders and gave up. All the pain went away and as he worked on me over the next couple of months, corrected back problems that dated back to middle school years of bad posture.

Some chiros are soft, touchy-​feely and use lots of gadgets, with mediocre results.
