DONOTSTAYATTHISHOTELUNDERANYCIRCUMSTANCE. check in is at 3pm. We arrived at 2 hoping to check in early as we were staying there to attend a wedding elsewhere in Cannon Falls. We couldn’t check in. No big deal because we were early. 3 rolls around and still no room ready. We started to get ready in the room of someone else who was attending the wedding. Thank goodness for their kindness. 415 rolls around and STILL no room ready. At this point it was time to head to the wedding. Thankfully when we returned after midnight our room was ready. I had reservations for a king bed. And of course our room wasn’t a king. It was two fulls. Not really a big deal but considering we couldn’t even check in after 4 o’clock it was just the icing on the cake. At check out, I voiced my concerns and unhappiness with the service. The lady with short brown hair and glasses used every excuse in the book. First she tried to say that we were checking out late(it was 1145 so yea technically we were but who cares? Our room wasn’t ready when it was supposed to be so why do you expect us to be ready to leave on time If you can’t give us the same courtesy). Then she said that we stayed the night in the room. Yes. We did. Again that is NOT the issue. The issue is that our room wasn’t ready until hours after check in time. Again, we weren’t asking for a full refund. We are asking for some type of discount. Then I asked to speak with the manager. Of course he isn’t in. I asked when he would be back and she didn’t know. Hmm strange how do you not know when your boss will be in. Then she said other wedding guests had to get ready in strangers rooms too. Yeah they did bc you don’t know how to properly run a hotel and don’t understand what check in time truly means. Then she said they were short staffed. Okay. I get that. But again how is that my fault and why should I be punished for it? Lastly she tried to say that if she was in this situation she wouldn’t be upset. Highly doubt that, and even if it were true I DONTCARE how you would feel. I paid for a room. The room is supposed to be ready at 3. It wasn’t ready for several hours after that. I deserve to be discounted. End of story. Won’t be staying here ever again. In order to discount me, the manager has to be present. Well of course he wasn’t there. Left my number for him to call me and of course he didn’t call. So I called asking to speak with him and of course he isn’t there. I will be calling every day until I speak to the manager. And I am also contacting the better business bureau to file a formal complaint. Stayed at a Marriott in Minneapolis the next night(as planned) and we were chit chatting with the receptionist telling her about our horrible service and she upgraded our room! This is why I like big corporations for hotels. They actually know what customer service is about. Also, this place is way over priced. Can’t believe I paid over a hundred dollars for a room that wasn’t ready until several hours after check-in and it was dirty and old.

For the price of rooms this place is over priced. Only thing that makes this place is the pool for the kids. There are a lot of maintenance issues also. Pool deck has loose rocks is sucks to walk on barefoot. Our room never got cleaned they just took towels. The breakfast not worth it unless you want toast. The waffle maker only was working 1 of 3 mornings. Overall if you are staying in town with someone that really wants a pool then you can deal but would rather drive to city for more options.
