Went in November but they were closed even though the web site and signage in front says open in November.

Beautiful location. The fruit wines were delicious. The blueberry raspberry wine is really something special. Great family that owns this place, they are so friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and the area. Worth the trip. If you are doing the Ct Wine Trail do not miss this place. Bring a picnic and enjoy the wine and the scenery.

This vineyard feels like it is in a galaxy far, far away. Living in Middletown, you can generally get almost anywhere within CT within an hour. Not Land of Nod… it was one hour and twenty minutes of driving, albeit through the scenic back roads of CT, all as part of our effort to complete the entire passport this year. When we arrived there appeared to be a Miata convention… there were about 20 Miatas parked all along the front of the vineyard’s lawn. There was a tent and tables set up, that appeared to be for that group. There was a string quartet playing under a tent right outside the tasting room, we later found out that they were high school students practicing for an upcoming final! Pretty cool. We got inside and had to wait a little bit for a tasting. It was a pleasant tasting room, but as usual, I was confused by some of the merchandise. They had the usual selection of wine related foods, some maple syrup made in their own sugarhouse(cool) and yarn. Yes, yarn… and lots of it. So if you’re ever out in the hills of East Canaan and need some yarn, make sure to stop by the winery. Random!!! The wine tasting was affordable, $ 6 for tasting of all 10 of their wines. Well, we only got 8, as they were out of the raspberry and she just completely skipped the blueberry raspberry. If you wanted to keep your glass, you could do so for an extra fee. We opted not to, as we have a bazillion winery glasses at home already. I didn’t like any of the wines, and the tastings were so generous, I had to do the dreaded dump. I try to avoid doing that, as I really feel like it must be offensive to them. I would highly recommend sharing a tasting if you are there with someone else, as with 8 — 10 tastings that were about 1⁄3 of a glass each, you’re getting quite a bit of wine. The woman doing our tasting said the chocolate raspberry is their most popular wine, but it wasn’t for me. It’s definitely a scenic location, but for me, I didn’t like their wines, which is why I couldn’t give them a higher rating.

Very cute, unassuming vineyard with a great selection of grape and fruit wines, 9 wines in total. I enjoyed every wine which is rare for me. The Fly Fisher(white), the Ironmaster(red) and the Chocolate Raspberry(fruit wine) are my top 3 choices. Well worth the drive!

Located in the wooded hills of upstate Connecticut. Nice facility, approximately seven different wines in which five you can taste during a wine tasting. Take-home wine glasses are extra. Mostly imported wines or blended with other flavorings. Fair prices.

Its a hike up to this place, but the scenery and peacefullness of the area makes it worth the trip. The wines are OK, the pour size was near half a glass for only $ 5 and we got to taste 5 wines(but the glass itself is $ 4.50 extra). There was only one wine my wife and I both really liked and that was the Chocolate Raspberry. The one red available was decent, but we didn’t care for the whites and we are big white fans.

This is a great stop on the CT Wine Trail. It’s a family operation and they have some very nice, drinkable wines. They are super nice people and the shop is quaint. Not a lot of traffic here and 6 – 8 people can make it seem pretty crowded but I would rate this one of my favorite stops on the wine trail. It’s a completely different feeling than many of the other places you’ll visit.

Beautiful location, delicious fruity and seasonal wines. The son of the owner who ran the wine tasting was lovely, very knowledgable, professional and managed things with ease when a large rush of people came through the door. We ended up purchasing a bottle of their blueberry raspberry wine which was tart and fruity without being too sweet and cloying like a lot of blueberry wines. Wonderful little vineyard with a delightful back story. I highly recommend a visit! :)

Oh Land of Nod I wish I could give you all the stars in the sky. In our travels on the CT Wine Trail this summer, I have to say this is one of the best wineries that we have visited to date. Yes it is a bit of a drive(it took us about an hour to get there) but it is worth the drive! We were greeted by Rick, one of the owners, who was a gracious host and historian. His family has owned the land since the 1750’s and started the winery as a way to keep the land in the family. The vines went into the ground in 1995 and they started producing in 2001. I agree with Ravae C — if you light wines are the sweeter side(which I do) then you will find a variety of wines to suit your pallet. Our tasting included 7 wines for $ 4 — which was a steal. I loved the fact that if you wanted to keep the glass it was an extra charge. I have so many glasses from the CT Wine Trail that I was glad not to add to the collection. Honestly all the wines I sampled were good — from the Bianca to the Iron Master Reserve(aged in CT Oak Barrels) to the fruit wines they were better then a majority of the other wines I have sampled on the CT Wine Trail. Of the fruit wines — I was a big fan of the Blueberry Raspberry Medley Wine as well as the Chocolate Raspberry Dessert wine. I have tried other«chocolate wines» in the past but this one was smooth and fruity without being overly sweet. At 18% alcohol — it’s one that could definitely sneak up on you. Mark and I loved the wines so much so that I will not tell you how many bottles made their way back to our car. Yes it’s a bit of a trek, but the drive through the northwest part of the state is absolutely gorgeous. A great find along the CT Wine Trail

My boyfriend and I absolutely love Land of Nod! The owners are the utmost friendly and kind people I have ever come across. The wine is very good especially if you like sweeter wines. The iron master reserve is, in my opinion, the best red wine on the wine trail. Also, how could you not love chocolate raspberry wine!!! We live in New Haven County so it is a drive for us, but well worth it! The drive is beautiful and we always stop off at the Beckley furnace just up the road to enjoy the waterfall and a quiet short walk. Great visit and not far from other CT wineries. If you have not gone yet, you’re missing out!

I would give this place 10 stars on a five star scale if I could. Without a doubt one of the best vineyards in Connecticut. The wine is amazing, and the owner is one of the friendliest people we have met on the wine trail. Its on a quiet back road, and is very relaxing. Anyone doing the wine trail doesn’t venture out to land of nod is only cheating themselves out of a great experience. I CANNOT recommend this place enough!

We stopped at the land of nod on our way home from a weekend at Tanglewood. The owner was super nice and the location was very rustic. Their fruit wines were quite yummy and we enjoyed the pairing of wine with chocolate. We highly recommend the blueberry-raspberry, peach wine, and raspberry chocolate. We will happily return!

The vineyard is waaaay up north in CT, and it’s a perfect destination for a fall drive. After you have finished a tasting, they encourage you to take a glass and relax on the grounds(there are picnic tables, and it’s a lovely spot for a picnic). The winery is small, and production is limited. The bianca, similar to a Riesling, was probably my favorite, although they seemed to feature a number of fruit wines(not my thing, very sweet). All in all, a beautiful stop on the CT Wine Trail.
