Honest! Bought a 1960s home and foundation inspection revealed a few issues. Hired them for repairs. Fast response. Walt showed up on site to review the progress. I chose to skip a couple of repairs as they were expensive. Walt assured me that nothing is going to happen. He said the effects will be of nuisance variety (paint cracks), if at all, but nothing to worry. It was so good to hear that as I was afraid that I was taking a risk by not doing those repairs. They were thorough in their work — cleaned up well and did the job on time. If you want to someone to take care of your foundation, go to these folks!

Bought my house a year ago, lots of other buyers were scared off due to cracks in the foundation as highlighted in the home inspection report. I really liked the house, the lot and the location so I found Larrabee and had them do an inspection of the foundation since they are experts in that space. They highlighted it was performing at or above average for a house of it’s age. They advised the repairs in the order they should be completed and provided a quote. I felt comfortable buying the house with that information, and getting one hell of a deal on it.
Fast forward a year and I have now called them back to complete the repairs, as others have stated they are fast, responsive and respectful. Everyone turns around calls and emails very promptly and takes there time explaining things.
They came in repaired a horizontal crack in a basement retaining wall, and some vertical cracks as well as fixed up some visual items I highlighted.
The team was great.

My 50-​year-​old house had developed a horizontal crack in the foundation, and the termite inspector recommended calling Larrabee for further evaluation. The entire experience working with everybody at Larrabee was superb. From the scheduling to the inspection to the repairs, everybody I dealt with was reliable, helpful, prompt, competent, and efficient. We bought a 1908 home that had an incomplete foundation. Larrabee and Associates excavated and built a new foundation and basement and sump pump. Walt Larrabee personally kept us informed of the status of the project every step of the way.
The amount of hard work and materials that go into this kind of job is truly amazing. The workers were considerate and kind. They even thoughtfully brought my refuse and recycling cans in on garbage day.
After passing the final inspection the city inspector told me that they did a very nice job. Not only were Larrabee and Associates professional and courteous, but also proficient.
We are so very glad that we chose Larabee and Associates, we love our home and our fantastic new basement!

As professional mold remediators, we are often in the perplexing dilemma of determining the source of moisture intrusion to a home and how best to repair it! On the recommendation of my realtor, I hired Larrabee & Associates last May to perform an evaluation of the foundation of the 1920’s era home that my husband and I were purchasing, and to provide us with a detailed report and proposal.
Caesar came out to meet with me and perform the evaluation. Caesar is as friendly as can be. He was VERY thorough and careful in climbing into the basement and throughout the crawl space of the home, and immediately drew up a great representation of the home’s structure and possible problem areas. He was extremely patient in explaining his drawing and findings to me and my husband on the spot — I have no understanding or knowledge of foundation issues, and he was careful to explain everything in a way I could comprehend. What I particularly appreciated is that he was calm and realistic with respect to the problems — he wasn’t sensationalistic, and didn’t say that everything needed an immediate (and expensive) fix. Instead, he pointed out the things that were more urgent and the things that would be more of a luxury. Within a week, Larrabee provided us with a full, comprehensive report and estimates for the work that needed to be done. Both the price for the evaluation/​report and the estimates seemed reasonable.
Recently, a side room of the house, which Caesar had not been able to evaluate during his initial visit due to a lack of crawl space access (which he reported to us at the time) has seemed to be «settling» (basically, falling down). I called Larrabee and spoke with Vince, who was also very friendly. Vince recommended a construction company that could create a crawl space access hole, which Larrabee would then be able to use to evaluate the foundation. Vince was friendly and responsive, and the company he recommended was great too.
Today, Caesar came out to access the crawl space through the hole. He was again friendly as could be, was prompt in his arrival, and was efficient in his evaluation. He was also thorough in explaining his findings to me. They are going to put together a proposal to address the foundation cracks he discovered, and I’ll update my review once I get the proposal and have them do the work.
Thus far, I’m very happy with my experience with Larrabee.

I contacted Larrabee and Associates for an inspection of my pier-​and-​post foundations. Walt Larrabee came out and did a detailed inspection, and afterwards gave me a detailed report of what was going on. Although the problem wasn’t serious, I decided to go ahead with the work, and requested a proposal.
The proposal was provided quickly, and their office personal were very responsive. When I came back with some further questions, they revised the quote and provided me an update in a very timely manner.
Scheduling was quick and easy, and the foreman (George) turned up exactly when he said he would. The workers were polite and friendly, and took great care with the protecting the rest of the house (putting down plastic, keeping things clean, etc.). Considering that there were 2 – 4 people under out house sawing, hammering and nailing, the disruption was minimal. They discovered an area that could use some extra work over and above their original quote, and they communicated this to me in a very clear and detailed manner, laying out my options. I never felt under any pressure to agree to the extra work, and when I did agree, they got right on it, and still finished the job on time.
Finally, the foreman came back to do a last walk through, to ensure that all of my questions were answered.
Over all, I highly recommend Larrabee and Associates. Friendly, honest, on-​time, and on-​price, exactly what I am looking for in a contractor.
