The recent fire in my home left my family and I with an extremely stressful situation. I was impressed by the kindness and professionalism of the owner, Jim. He was very personable and comforting to talk to. His team got to work immediately and my family was back in the house in two weeks. I was impressed by the quality of their work and shocked by how quickly we returned to our home. I highly recommend JM Construction.

JM was the last step in a very frustrating, 6-​month repair of our home due to a water leak. Everyone that the sent to our home to put it back in shape was exceptional. Appointments were kept, their workers were polite and professional and they did an incredible job, despite my less-​than-​cheery disposition. Each worker, painter, drywall repair, floor repair, etc., went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy. I cannot compliment them enough!

A recent fire in my home left much smoke damage throughout multiple rooms. The walls were disgusting, and the smell was unbearable. My insurance company referred me to JM Construction, and I’m sure glad they did!
JM Construction told me what to expect and sent out an estimator to assess the damage. They gave me detailed descriptions of what needed to be done and realistic timelines for when it should be complete. They explained everything to me in an easy to understand way (I know NOTHING about home repair), and they then got to work immediately on my house.
The results were fantastic. You couldn’t even tell there was any smoke. They left the house in better condition than before the smoke damage!
The best part by far was the fact they put me at ease throughout the entire ordeal. What was a traumatic and emotional experience ended up not being too bad. Their friendly and communicative methods really helped keep the situation managable and kept me from freaking out more than I already was.
I can’t recommend them highly enough. Great results, great staff, quick response!

Signed with them as a «Premier» Contractor associated with my insurance claim to do about $ 10K of relatively simple work at my house.
Bottomline, 2 weeks without any work by JM.
Their Project Manager was my primary concern. If he couldn’t: Project Manage, that is. He couldn’t:
— Meet in a timely manner
— Review document that I had sent to him prior to the meeting
— I had to print for him, and clearly it was the first time he saw — read it.
— Call to have room contents moved out before the work
(Says it was my job to coordinate)
— Call for an outside contractor to begin the Asbestos Abatement
(Says it was my job, not his. Finally had the Abatement Co call after 1 week which got the project going)
— «Forgot» — «Didn’t realize» there was contents to be removed before abatement
— More delay
— Told Abatement Co to begin work when the room contents had not yet been fully removed!
— Coordinated the content move-​out only after telling him that it was not my job to coordinate — etc… but the PM at the contractor
— Abatement company showed up and Proj Mgr let him in, only to find large items still in room where the move-​out company had not yet completed their work. (Me thinks that he should have known or at least called to verify that the room was clear)
— I had to call the packout people to finish work ASAP so Abatement could begin
— When I mentioned to the PM that concern and there were still items in the room, he suggested that he was not aware of it (even tho he was there that morning!) and asked what was there.

JM Construction hadn’t even started the repairs with their resources, and I could only guess that things would likely get worse than better.
Also — was told by the estimator that the scope of work would likely only take 4 week, at the most 5. The PM later updated that estimate to 5 – 6, with a possibly of not exceeding 8.
I love the project completion creep. The schedule, not the individual.
The estimator was fantastic. I even visited the company to personally drop off my contract, and they seemed competent. In fact, there were letters plastered ALL over their walls from customers saying what great work they did.
They probably did.
And they are probably wonderful contractors.

Insurance Adjuster had been following the series of events and offered similar concerns when we discussed the issues and concerns.
Insurance company terminated the relationship because of these concerns.
Perhaps not so… «Premier» after all ?!
Just not in my case.

I hired JM Construction to do some wall reconstruction after I had some water damage. At that time I also decided to renovate my condo. They put in crown molding and base boards, painted and rebuilt some walls. I was really impressed with the results. The crown molding looks amazing (can’t see any seams), the painting is beautiful and professional. I am really new to this and had LOTS of questions and changes/​additions along the way which were all received with kindness, patience and helpful comments. They cleaned up after themselves and even washed the windows in the area that they worked. Overall I was really happy with the work and will hire them again in the future!

We have very positive experience with the Staff of JM Construction — cooperative, on-​time, professional, skilled and easy to work with, especially in this delicate time of unwanted fire-​damage repair. There were few instances where the plan needed some revisions and JM Construction handled very professionally. Without hesitation, I would recommend highly.

We had a broken hot water pipe underneath the home towards end of last year 2011 spraying for about 1 to 2 months and didn’t know it. We contacted the insurance company AAA after our plumber found out the problem, but it was a bit late. We moved out within a week and the mold and water damage remediation began. After the clean up, JM Construction assisted in the restoration of the home.
JM’s workers were professional and courteous and did a great job. They did what was in the interest of the client. I managed the entire process daily and saw what they did. They were efficient and I must say the new project manager Dave was excellent to deal with! If there were issues, they fixed them immediately no questions asked. JM finished as promised 4 months and came back afterwards 2 weeks after to conduct another final walk through after we moved in.
All the people at JM were a delight to work with and the president, Jim came out as well to check on the home. Class act and top of the line work! They made the process seamless for us with AAA as well! Great job JM! Thanks for allowing our family to resume our daily lives!

If I could give a Zero, I would. I had significant repairs made to my house which was damaged in Nov. 2009 my issue and repairs are still ongoing. AAA recommended them and we have been paying for them ever since. We, I say because myself and others in the public pay higher insurance rates because of this type of ridiculous work. They overcharge, cause extended delays, have poor management and followup. I was taking picture everyday after they left my house to show what they did.
They say they have a 3 year warranty but they do not do as they say.
Beware, they put as little in writing as possible and state they made changes at my request. The fact that they do not followup in other reviews is repeated here and the employees (Like Ron) joked that you can never get Jim on a Friday because he only works Mon-​Thur.
I found 3 live electrical wires buried in my walls that I pointed out to their owner Jim and were only fixed after I pointed them out to the building inspector.
Do not use them for repairs on your home. AAA has many contractors available, search, find a better one.
I have given them every opportunity to fix what is wrong to no avail.
