In 1999 Edward earned his electrical contractor license and decided to start his own business. He moved to the Bay Area, and has been providing prompt, professional and personal service to home and business owners ever since.

Edward is dedicated to delivering quality electrical work, and is continually updating his knowledge and skills. He has an AS degree in electrical technology and in small business management from Pasadena City College. In addition he is teaching electrical code classes at San Jose City College, is a certified electrical inspector with ICC, a member in good standing and a certified electrical inspector with IAEI. He is also a founding member of the Cupertino chapter of Business Network International (BNI).

I called Angies List and got this guy from them, BEWARE, he came out and gave me an overly inflated quote ($ 407) for repairing a burned connector. I did agree to it (reluctantly) because he was right there. After he left I did my homework and called 5 other certified electricians in the area and all their quotes were HALF of EG electrical quote. He knows he double charged me, regardless of what response he gives back to my review. My lesson for myself is do the research first, I got burned for not listening to my gut. There is enough competition out there, and when I told the companies what EG charged me their response was «WOW». Learn my lesson everyone.

I had a very good experience with E G Electrical Service. I needed a new circuit in one of my bathrooms for a bidet toilet seat just before Thanksgiving in 2012. I contacted them on Thursday, they came for an estimate on Saturday, got a permission from the city on Monday, and got the work done on Tuesday, which was a lot faster than I expected. Over the weekend we communicated via email and text about the details and paper work. It was very helpful for me that I was able to contact them over email, while many contractors are only reachable by phone. They were always responsive too. They even installed an extra electrical outlet for the bathroom so that we could plug our toothbrush charger without using an extension cord. Excellent work. I highly recommend them.

The lamp in my rental condo’s kitchen would not turn on. I called this company to go over there and fix it. They had told me on the phone that there is a «$ 89 service call fee». I asked Leslee (their rep) if the fee will be used towards the repair and she confirmed it. They showed up at my rental place where my tenants live. About 10 minutes after showing up, they called me and let me know that they cannot figure out why the lamp does not turn on. They said the trouble shooting task is so complicated that I have to pay an extra $ 700+ cost so that they can find out what the problem is! Also, they told me there might be a safety hazard if they do not fix it right away. I did not believe them and asked them to leave it as it was before. They charged my $ 89 anyways for just showing up there! I found another electrician. He came by and fix the issue in less than 45 minutes for just $ 100! I did contact them and let them know that I am extremely unhappy about the way they practice business. Their electrician (Edward) used a very insulting language in his emails. He did admit that it is possible to find and an electrician who could fix the same problem for less than $ 100! He still did not explain why he quoted me for more than $ 700 for the same fix! Instead, he questioned my ability to understand why they charged me $ 89 (btw, I have a PhD in electrical engineering). I was very clear about my concerns but they never bothered to address any of them. I just want all other potential clients to know about the super poor quality of service these guys provide. Their business practice is unfair and deceptive.

Nice person but the bottom lime is I paid for a visit and all he told me is what I already knew — my applicant wasn’t connected properly. Which is exactly what I told him on the phone. He didn’t fix it and he didn’t know how to fix it.

Just called them for a quote on my backyard project… And set up an appointment for someone to come by and give me an estimate… After taking all my details, and setting up the appointment, the young lady very politely informed me of the $ 39 «consultation fee» that would be charged! That fee would be refunded if they did the work…
Every other electrical company I have called has willingly come out to see the work needed, and provided a quote at no charge! Obviously this company is so busy that they don’t need my little job…
Pity, because they sound quite good, are Diamond Certified, have good reviews, everything… But sadly, I will not pay for the privilege of them walking around my backyard to give me a quote…

I met ED when helping out a General Contractor on a complete house remodel. I was really impressed with his professionalism. He showed up to the Jobsites on time and got the jobs done. He’s very well educated in the National Electrical Codes even the city inspectors were impressed with his knowledge of the Electrical field. I highly recommend EG Electrical Services.

I’m not sure of the job. But we were charged $ 600 for less than two hours work! When we asked for an itemized bill he sent a one liner including parts and labor for $ 600! I paid less for a lawyer, and he gave an itemized bill stating exactly what I was paying for! In this case I was blinded completely, a 1-​liner bill made me feel completely screwed!

We were first introduced to edward through our general contractor during our kitchen remodel. He was super meticulous and detail oriented. We loved the canned lighting he did for us in our kitchen so we had him come out to put canned lighting in our living room. He makes sure to keep the areas he is working clean and is extremely knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend him.

My house remodel required a new and repositioned electrical box along with updated electrical wiring throughout the whole house. Upon meeting Ed, we went over a detailed walk through of each room and understanding the layout of lighting and switches. I was very impressed with the amount of detail that was going into the layout. A lot of times I would just refer back to Ed for his recommendation and where the best placement would be. I didn’t realize how much detail goes into the planning of electrical switches and outlet locations. Ed made suggestions upon future possible locations and lighting which I appreciated very much.
There were times when the information and decision making was way over my head. And Ed was more than happy to revisit the information and details at a different time. The great thing was that Ed’s work is so detailed and precise we passed the electrical inspections at different points of the remodel with no problems at all which is a huge plus. This saved us time in the process and did not delay other parts of the remodel. Now living in the house I can see why Ed asked a lot of questions about placement of switches and outlets. The simplicity of the locations of the switches and many outlets has made it easier. And Ed is very detailed about his craft such that every screw for each cover plate is all facing the same direction and the plate is all level and flat. These are the details I appreciate. He is down to earth and easy to communicate with, I strongly recommend Ed for his experience and detailed workmanship.

None of my other Unilocal reviews were filtered; why this one? Unilocal runs an extortion racket.

Edward is a great guy. Our house is electrically «challanged» since it was built the same year the dinosaurs roamed the earth. It was quite scary to see the wires edward pulled out of the walls.
Bottom line is he knows his stuff.
Would not hesitate for a moment to recommend him.

Edward was able to get right to the bottom of the problem – a shorted wire – in less than 30 minutes. He arrived promptly the next day and replaced a cable drop through a conduit, running new wires to the breaker box in 2.5 hours – including a 30 min trip for supplies. Everything is working great. Professional, courteous and knowledgeable: these superlatives I do not hand out willy-​nilly. Edward is very good.

Edward is professional, courteous, thorough and is someone who genuinely enjoys what he does — and it shows! His work is impeccable, done on time and competitively priced. We had a full panel upgrade, with subpanel installed in the garage, outside outlets including a built in BBQ and lamp post and full coverage recessed and picture lighting installed in our living room. What he installed was beyond our expectations! He even made provisions for future upgrades. Edward is a hard worker and was great with our pets (including two 12 week old kittens who were quite a handful). We highly recommend him!

This is the second time I’ve hired Edward to work on my house and again he provided outstanding service. He is a true professional — extremely knowledgeable, courteous and a pleasure to do business with. This last time (the first time he installed lighting and fans) he rewired the entire panel for the house and installed a new circuit into the kitchen with a commercial grade receptacle. All work, including obtaining the permit and having the inspection was done on time. Edward is always available for questions and returns calls promptly. My brother recommended Edward after he came to his house and did a ton of work. And believe me, my brother needed a ton of work to fix some potential safety issues. We needed faulty light switches repaired, changed over some lighting, finished some repair work that another laborer never finished, etc. Edward came in, gave us a quote, set a date for him to return and that was it. He did it all and stuck to his price which was very reasonable. He’s pleasant, hard working and there to do his job. We’ve recommended him to several of our friends and everyone has been pleasantly surprised with such a refreshing change to have a service man really perform his job with such professionalism.
