We needed to upgrade our service panel from 100 to 200 amp. The service provided was superior in all aspects. The job was done quickly, expertly and at a reasonable price. The customer service was great as well. Both Henry and Doug did a great job at keeping me informed, explaining the work to be done, and then following through on their commitments. I highly recommend them!

Henry was great! I had a fan that had a piece missing so it was unable to turn off, and he was able to fix it without replacing the entire fan! He was timely with the service and friendly. Affordable rate too! I would recommend this business for anyone in need of electrical help :)

Henry and Doug did an excellent job. We discussed various options and let me choose what I felt was the best option for us. They added some additional outlets inside and outside for us. Of course it wasn’t cheap but I believe you get what you pay for. Henry advised us that we need to update our electrical panel which we will do when we do out kitchen remodel.
Both Henry and Doug were very professional and clear with me about the costs and my options. They did a nice clean and professional job. We will definitely use them again as well as recommend them!

When we decided to upgrade our electric service panel from 100 amps to 200 amps, we started our search for an electrical contractor on the Diamond Certified website.
After contacting some of the listed contractors and acquiring written estimates for the work needed, we decided on California Power and Light. It was clearly the correct decision for us.
Henry and his associate, Doug, did the requested work and we could not be happier! Every aspect of the project was done perfectly and to our complete satisfaction!
Henry and Doug were on time, the work was done to perfection, the work was neat, clean and completed on time and to specifications. I cannot stress enough what a complete pleasure it was working with these gentlemen. I always worry when hiring someone to work on our residence. I hate surprises. Quick, efficient, knowledgeable, helpful, informative. I had a very old fuse box that needed to be replaced for home improvements. It had at least 5 yellow jacket nests inside. Henry didn’t bat an eye did the work contracted, on time and… he and Moises were simply very nice guys to work with. He took the time to mark where the electrical lines when inside the house for future reference. I plan on calling him back very soon to replace a broken fan in our bathroom.

California Power & Light completed technically difficult electrical upgrade on our triplex on time and for a very reasonable price and in a very professional manner. We will definitely be going back to California Power & Light for all of our electrical needs. Henry, the owner, and Doug, his electrician, replaced a 200A main panel with a 400A main 4-​meter socket panel; replaced two subpanels, grounded numerous outlets, installed GFCI outlets, installed bathroom fans (except venting), and installed electrical circuits for future installation of a whole house fan, and more. All work passed City Building inspection without any problems, and the main panel upgrade required coordination with PG&E to disconnect and then reconnect the power to the triplex. We knew that this work required only experienced and knowledgeable electricians, so we contacted only licensed and fully insured contractors to give us quotes. Of the companies capable of doing this work, California Power & Light was the most reasonable. Henry, the owner, was also very responsive to our calls, and both Henry and Doug were very helpful and nice. The work was performed on time and in a very professional manner. Since we had residents living in the triplex, we wanted to be sure that the residents were not without power over night when PG&E did the required disconnect of power before the main panel was installed. Henry and Doug managed to do all the main panel work, get the City inspection and approval, and PG&E back to reconnect the power within one day — this is absolutely phenomenal work. Also, we appreciated Henry’s attention to safety. He took extra steps that were not required but that added to the safety of the electrical installation. He is a perfectionist in his work — something that we very much appreciate.

Although they were quick to respond to our service call, the house visit to assess why our bathroom lights weren’t working cost $ 89 just to assess what the electrical issue was. We were given several hypotheticals as to what the issue might be. It was going to be another $ 320 to troubleshoot on a later day (to go into the attic space to take a look with no guarantees that the issue would be fixed) or $ 550 to rewire the room altogether at a later time. We called around afterwards and found out that house calls for many electricians in the area is a set cost to troubleshoot or free if the problem cannot be fixed during the visit. We were able to get another electrician to come to the house on the same day and get our lights up and running for ¹⁄₃ of the quoted price from California Power & Light.

These guys deserve all of their 5-​star ratings! They were able to see me quickly, waited patiently while I called a couple other people to make sure their price was competitive (it was), worked quickly to accommodate my schedule, did a great job, and cleaned up after themselves! They were so nice, and it’s just so nice to deal with nice people! If I ever have more electrical work I will def call them. (I had a circuit put in for an above the range microwave, some outlets in the kitchen switched to GFI, and a light fixture installed.) Also worth mentioning is that the guy who actually ended up doing the work was not licensed, but working toward his license. He said he had been with CP&L for 3 years and he did a great job so I was fine with that.

I hired California Power and Light to replace my old electrical panel. Henry was great to work with and provided a competitive price. He showed up on time, was extremely professional, courteous, knowledgeable, responsive and organized. He completed the project as promised and I am very pleased with the work he’s done. I will definitely hire him again for other projects in the future.

Excellent, professional, on-​time, courteous and fair pricing. I just remodeled my backyard and needed multiple electrical items. Low voltage lighting outside, irrigation outlet on timer, and my new built-​in island bbq needed electrical for the outdoor mini-​refrigerator. And the biggest of all, I needed 230v dedicated for my new hot tub and. Henry and his team went above and beyond on completing the work professionally, safe and quickly. I’m not enjoying my outdoor oasis thanks to California Power & Light. Highly highly recommend this company for electrical needs.

California Power and Light is amazing! Several years ago I needed to upgrade my panel and wiring in my home built in 1949. The owner came over and won the bid. California Power and Light not only upgraded my panel, but also went on to rewire my whole house, upgraded my kitchen, wired my garage and has done an amazing amount of flawless work. They are always professional and fast!!! I would recommend them to anyone who needs ANY electrical done or a problem fixed. Especially if you have a home in Willow Glen or Los Gatos area. They really understand an old house and how to prevent issues.

Had a GFCI outlet go out on me over the weekend — all the outlets on that circuit were out, along with the clothes dryer. When I pressed the «Test“button, the «Reset» button wouldn’t pop out. I tried resetting the circuit breakers numerous times to no avail. I called California Power & Light this morning and left a message — I got a call back before 8:30am informing me of the initial service call charge and they scheduled Doug to come out between 9 and 10am — fast service! I even got a call later letting me know that he was running a few minutes late. When he arrived, he told me again about the service call charge, did some checking, figured out the issue and gave me an estimate. He told me what caused the problem and showed me the evidence and then quickly switched out the outlet. I checked the other outlets that were on the same circuit and confirmed everything was working.
After Doug had already left, I realized the clothes dryer was still not working so I called him back. He came back and did some more troubleshooting and found that there was an issue with the outlet for the dryer. He did get the dryer working but said the underlying issue was still there and suggested setting up another appointment to address it (as he was booked for the rest of the day). Henry called me later to book a time and asked several questions to make sure that the service and work done for the initial call were satisfactory (they were), then asked me about the dryer. After discussing the issue with him, we agreed to wait until the dryer acts up again before proceeding with any additional work. And even though it was an oversight on my part not to ask Doug about the dryer on his first visit, I didn’t get charged for the second visit and troubleshooting.
These guys are very conscientious, professional and reasonably priced (more than reasonably, in my case). I would not hesitate to call them again for any electrical issue I have in the future.

Needed to install a new circuit for electric car charger and contacted 2 electricians based on Unilocal reviews. Have good impressions on both but decided to hire California Power and Light because Henry seems having more experiences on electric car chargers than the other one.
Henry and his staff arrived on time, worked very efficiently, and cleaned work area after the job done. The quality of his work looks great. Definitely will recommend him to friends who need help from electrician.

Henry and Doug installed the new charging system for our new Nissan Leaf. He was exactly on time, on budget, performed a clean installation and cleaned up after themselves. Henry also advised us on changes we may want to make to our electric panel safer and gave us a reasonable estimate. Besides all that they were both personable and friendly. What more could I ask? Thanks for the fine work!

I had Henry install an outlet in a soon to be installed fireplace insert for the blower and he did a great job! Very satisfied. He found a way to get power to the outlet which he installed and was very efficient and reasonable. Both he and Doug are very friendly. I did not have an electrician and now I do.

Henry was great. Our newly installed electrical panel, by another electrician, had failed, leaving us without power last night. I called Henry this morning based on the Unilocal reviews. He was at our house in the Santa Cruz Mountains by 10, charging a reasonable travel fee to come to our house.
He figured it was the PG&E side, and he was correct.

Only reason we knew about California Power & Light is that we needed a new Electrical Panel Box as we are upgrading our home with Solar Panels through Future Energy. Our old panel was 100 watts and was the same old panel since the house was built way back then and the same panel when we moved in 3 years ago! Our new Panel is now 200 watts with room to grow.
Doug and Henry are friendly, knowledgeable and takes pride and quality back it up behind their work they do. Carefully making sure that there are no short cuts and that things are done beyond code. These guys take their work very serious and it’s very rare to see a company or even a person do things right the first time.
Let me put this way, they arrived promptly at 8AM began the tear down and removed as much stucco to get the new Panel Box in! (my two year old slept thru all the pounding and wall demo I kid you not and was even smiling in her sleep).
By 1:30PM the panel was up and lines and switches were all installed. Henry left to check up on another job, Doug went to finish somethings in the crawl space, SJ Inspector arrived between 1:30−2PM gave the go ahead and was off to another site. 2:30PM PGE arrived to make the final inspection cycled the power to house and I had power by 3:00PM!
They clean up after each job and it showed! Henry was also quick and friendly to point where some areas were not up to code (previous owner ran some lighting to side of the house and the box was not waterproof and one of the other pointers was not even related to electrical! it was plumbing!)
Stucco? Man this guy even has a connection to that as well. Lopez Lath Plaster, CA Lic 228 218. Raul dropped by later in the week stucco’d and patch all the open areas and off he went. Doesn’t paint match but again we will be painting our house.
They can answer all your questions, give tips on energy saving, and if you are one of those DIY’ers they can advise you on how to do things the right way!
If you want quality, knowledgeable expertise work, care, passion and pride go call these guys! Cause my other projects around our new home will definitely involve them. Which reminds me I need to call them to remove the house side lights and possibly a full replacement that is done correctly and not a cheap DYI’er like the last owner!!!
Did I mention they are Diamond Certified? If you are a homeowner and look at that kind type of stuff then you know the work and the commitment that both companies strive for.
It’s been a full a month now since the installation and nothing has gone wrong.
My Solar is now up and running!!!
