I was very suprised to see a small check cashing place next to a dollar store buying gold… I expected a jewelry store or a more professional place
Anyway after showing them what I had the price they gave me wasn’t even close to what I got offered by another place earlier in a day …
Almost $ 200 more … wow

So I walked into this place today. First impression? Well the name «we buy gold» is hanging next to the sign for payday advance and auto loan place. Walking in, I was not greeted, i had to ask if I was right place. Once in i told them I wanted to sell some pre 1964 US coinage. The lady took a look, looking for quality and dates. After that she appraised 8 half dollar coins Se told me they were worth 20 dollars. I informed her that today’s spot price was $ 17.43 and that each coin contained $ 6.25 of silver. I asked them why they would only pay $ 2.50 a coin and they said they have to melt it down and make a profit. Of course I understand I’m not going to spot price but I thought that wasn’t a fair price. With so much competition around you would think they would try to get as many customers as possible. Maybe they would have a real sign if they did more business.
Also they close half an hour early.

Go for a consultation. Don’t sell!
I was naïve yesterday. I look back now and read the comments and seriously doubt all the 5-​Star reviews are real.
The store front was shady looking. I thought this place wasn’t the Cash for Gold places that I had seen in the mall because it was named Bay area Cash for Gold on Unilocal but turns out they are one and the same. I had seen the name of this store before and frankly I should have went with my gut instinct.
When I walked in I saw glass windows up to the ceiling, which makes sense because they are a money-​exchange location as well. There was an older man that was there and he seemed to be honest because he was recommending the older couple next to me to go to a different location that might pay them more.
I went to the next woman and she measured the necklaces in solutions and rubbed them behind the counter, and I only know this because my sister leaned over to look.
I had two white gold necklaces (14kt & 18kt, supposedly that’s what she said). One had a flat heart shaped piece hanging with a center piece diamond and the other was a flat circle encrusted with tiny diamonds. I also had a white gold ring with a medium sized set teal diamond and smaller diamonds that were set next to it.
For the love of god I do not know why I didn’t take pictures or measure the length of the necklaces or the ring beforehand.
THEY GAVE ME ONLY $ 188! For all 3 pieces of jewelry and I took it. They did NOT give me back my diamonds and the woman at the counter did NOT tell me the value of the ring AT ALL. My receipts says that I sold only 1 item for gold/​silver when I sold 3 items clearly. She asked where I heard about them and I said Unilocal,but I have no idea what that meant, according to other commenters they added 10% to the value.
In the end, I felt misinformed, cheated and still it ended up feeling completely shady, as much as I didn’t want it to be. Looking back it screams at me.

Best price by far! They were very honest and straight forward. What a nice change from all the other places we went to. I highly recommend this place!

This place didn’t work for me. I don’t think I will be returning here.
I went to this place based on their reviews. I brought over one thousand dollars worth of gold. They gave me an offer and I told them I would think about it. The clerk then told me how much was I willing to sell them my gold for. So, they didn’t offer me their top price. Once I offered them a price for my gold, the clerk said she would have to clear it with her supervisor first.
I guess their way of doing business is to make you a low offer first to see if you sell. That is not the way to get my business.
I checked the place on Winchester and Williams. They offered me more for my gold right off the bat. I asked them to round the price off to the nearest hundred and they did. Try this place before committing to Bay Area Cash For Gold.

I walked in to sell gold jewelry for refining. I walked out in 5 minutes with cash and received the highest offer with no haggling. Note: I did my homework and shopped around for three offers. Bay Area Cash For Gold was the highest. I was treated with respect, courtesy, and like a customer who mattered. I highly recommend this business.

I decided that it was time to make use out of the jewelry that I never wear and looked at Unilocal as to where to get cash for it.
They were very polite and explained the 3 step procedure to determine the quality of the items. After weighing it and giving me a price, I showed them my ID, signed a document, and gave a thumb print. I walked out with cash that I can now use.
If you are reading my review, please mention it to them because they will add some percentage to the value of the transaction.

This place was great. I’ve sold some gold over time but the people at Bay Area Cash For Gold were professional and the prices very fair. I highly recommend going there if you have jewelry to sell. Note — they do not accept pearls.

So, here it is. I was saving up for my new camera, the Canon 7D. I had predicted that I’d have enough money by December but I just couldn’t wait. Wait just a minute here. I had a box full of gold jewelry accumulated over 40 years of folks and relatives giving me stuff. Why not get rid of it?
Yes! Easy to find place. It was a little daunting at first because the workers are behind glass windows, but then I remembered it’s also a check cashing place and any place that buys gold for cash probably needs to be a little secure. Anyhoo, I actually went in twice and both times was helped by extremely nice folks. They sorted out which were gold and which weren’t, then tested them for purity in front of me, then weighed them in front of me, then made me an offer.
In both cases, the offer was insanely more than I had anticipated. I’m afraid I’m out of gold to sell, but if I stumbled into some more, I’d go right back there for cash.
This is a nice place, with nice honest people and I’d recommend it to anyone.

Had some gold from (ahemm… ex’s) and some that I don’t even use anymore so decided to sell. This place made me feel secure and gave me the going rate of gold that day including 10% more due to me mentioning Unilocal!The person that helped me was nice, explained all the steps to figure if my gold was 10k, 14k, 18k or 22k. Walked out of there with enough money to take my kids to Disneyland!
If I find anymore gold in my closet, that’s the ONLY place I’d go to sell!

$ 220.00 dollars later — they took their time to make sure my gold piece was 10K only and not 14K (which of course would of given me more $). They were nice and courteous, I recommend highly.

Excellent service!!! I walked in with a bag of old stuff and came out with $ 2600! The guy who helped me was nice and honest. I highly recommend this place and will be back. And when I mentioned I found them on Unilocal I got an additional 10% for my stash. Couldn’t be more pleased (the place does look a little sketchy from the outside but the people inside are great).

So I have been seeing all these cash for gold places popping up all over the place. Figured there has got to be a reason for that so I checked the price of gold and saw that it is currently over $ 1700 an ounce.
I’ve got several old gold rings and bracelets that I know I will never wear so I figured I would try to sell them and see how much I could get.
Came to Unilocal and started looking at reviews for a good place to get to sell my stuff. Saw the great reviews for this place so I went and paid a visit to the store this morning. I like how they open at 9am weekdays.
I was a little nervous at first because I wasn’t 100% sure all of my items were real and I didn’t want to get laughed at. Thankfully the gentleman working was very courteous and explained all the testing he was doing to determine the purity of each item.
I have a scale of my own and I weighed everything beforehand so I had a decent idea of what everything was worth. I feel as though what he offered was a very fair price, considering this is his business and he needs to make money too so obviously he cannot buy gold from you at what the current price is. He needs to have a spread. His spread is fair and he pays you cash money right there on the spot.
If i have more gold items to sell I will certainly be coming back to this shop.

Very professional and trust worthy! I first went to the kiosk at valley fair mall but I didn’t feel comfortable. So I looked up this place online and try it out. Sumant was kind and helpful. I would diff be back again!

Very happy with my last transaction… It was a bit slow as they had to test each of my gold pieces for carat, but after selling them a few old rings (and they gave me the stones back) i walked out with over 400 in my pocket. They were professional and I would definitely go back. My only complaint however: they really should be weighing gold IN FRONT of you, and not out of your view. I do not feel I was jipped in anyway, but this would be an improvement in the transaction…

I haven’t actually conducted the transaction yet, however this place is paying higher than the other places I called. Not by much, but higher still the same.
You’ll never get the exact ‘spot’ price for your stuff since everyone down the line has to make some cash, but this place seems reasonable paying 74% of the spot 24k price

Cash for Gold in Campbell is AWESOME! The gentleman who worked with me there, Sumant, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
I’d seen signs around that said «We Buy Gold» — so one day I took my gold (a bunch of old jewelry that was just sitting in a drawer) to Oakridge Mall. I’d done a little bit of research about the price of gold and knew about what i should get for it. So, after waiting for over an hour (they were very busy — I guess because it’s the mall — and it was Christmas time) they weighed my jewelry and offered me less than 50% of what it was worth on the market. I put it back in my pocket and left — less than happy that I’d wasted all that time only to find out they were not paying a fair price.
About a month later I went into Cash for Gold in Campbell. I asked what they would pay for gold — and they told me — straight up — what the market price was that day and what they were paying. About a month later I took my gold in — and they paid me over 75% of it’s value. A VERY fair deal in my opinion. And — it took less than 15 minutes for Sumant to weigh it — test it — get me to sign one paper — DONE! I walked in with a clump of old jewelry that I never wore — and walked out with over $ 400.00. it was a very happy day for me!
I highly recommend this place if you want to sell your gold. The price is fair and the service is excellent.
