Based in the Bay Area, we specialize in custom services ranging from DJ + MC, AV, Visuals + Ambient Lighting to Dancers, Aerialists, Circus Performers, Musicians + Singers. All of our services are offered for Weddings, Corporate + Special Events, Celebration Occasions and Live Shows.

AUDIO:

One of AVL’s unique areas of service is creating custom sound designs for weddings and events.

A «Sound Design by AVL», is much like a movie soundtrack… a blended selection of songs that captures a certain mood or a specific theme. This custom service is included in most of our wedding and event packages.

VISUAL:

AVL offers a variety of visual concepts that create multi-​dimensional entertainment for weddings and events.

We also offer projectors and projection screens to play visuals + video footage during your wedding reception or event.

LIGHTING:

AVL offers artistic style lighting services to enhance the ambiance of your event. Depending on the style of your event, we can use different lighting looks to capture the vision + vibe you are going for.

Aaron has spent over 12 years working in all facets of the entertainment industry.

AVL is the result — a culmination of knowledge and a wealth of experience taken to scope. As a DJ, a musician and a sound engineer, LaMorte understands the details and takes immense pride in his ability to produce astounding results in the realm of sensory audio and atmospheric design. His approach is one of true passion, style and energy.

He truly loves what he does and it genuinely shows, as he entertains the crowd from behind his LED lit sound station. He loves collaborating, loves connecting and ultimately reveling in the breathtaking end result.

When Aaron is NOT working an event… you may find him watching his favorite bands at a local venue, wine tasting down in Paso Robles or shopping for music or movies at a few of the last remaining record stores still in existence ;-)

We were introduced to AVL while he performed at a friend’s wedding. I distinctly remember shouting over the music to my then g/​f «When we get married, we have to hire this guy!» Fast-​forward 2 years and I’m emailing Aaron to schedule a consultation. No joke, I remembered him 2 years later and after attending numerous weddings and events.
AVL deserves an extra (6th) star for being so easy to work with. During our first meeting, Aaron took the time to understand our story, our favorite music, and knew exactly what we were looking for in designing the signature sound for our event. Weddings can be stressful and Aaron was so great about checking in during the event. Sound was on point all night long and our guests loved the music — we’re still getting compliments months later! Anyone can press play on a machine, but Aaron *made* the dance party. He was reading the enthusiasm on the floor and building transitions on the fly. I Highly recommend AVL for your event!

Aaron at AVL Entertainment was great to work with. He DJ’d my wife’s 30th birthday and was a true professional. He worked with me ahead of time to come up with a song list and was even flexible at the event when I was throwing in additional requests. He has a wide variety of music and had some great ideas on how to make the night transition smoothly. He really got the crowd dancing and was a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend him for your next event!

Working with AVL Entertainment made for an excellent experience when it came to developing a «sound» for our wedding. Right off the bat it was obvious that Aaron is a true professional that is very passionate about his craft. Never overstepping his bounds, he did an awesome job in letting us work through our selections from his extensive well curated lists of songs while gently guiding us when we were stuck on choices. My wife and I never felt pressured to make specific selections based on what the «it» songs were right now. The overall experience was very organic and collaborative.
For our wedding we had a special section where my wife and I sang a duet with me playing guitar. Not only did Aaron work with us to make sure we had the proper setup, he was genuinely excited to help by conducting a sound-​check, supplying guitar cables, and additional gear to make sure we had the proper sound. If you are thinking of doing something like a live performance I strongly suggest going with AVL.
When it came time to get everyone onto the dance floor, Aaron did a great job of reading the group and switching up the music accordingly. His ability to mash-​up songs and create totally new compositions right on the spot was an experience within itself. The music provided great energy and an extremely fun vibe that contributed to a memorable wedding. If you are searching for a DJ, I highly recommend AVL for your next event.

AVL Entertainment is such a gem to work with! Aaron is professional and also fun to be around! I’ve hired AVL for several occasions: our wedding in September and several corporate functions throughout the last 3 months. Each event has needed different music and different layers of sound design, Aaron has been adaptable and accommodating for each. It is always a blast to have Aaron because he has a great sense of what is needed for a party and does that so I can be successful. Having AVL take care of my audio and music needs means I don’t have to worry about that aspect of my event. I love working with Aaron!

AVL Entertainment (Aaron) came as a recommendation from our wedding videographer. After one meeting with him, we knew we wanted him as our Wedding DJ and booked him right then and there. We are so glad we did. In the month leading up to our wedding he was patient with us as we selected our music, even when we had to reschedule a meeting about three weeks before the big day. On the day of he was perfect. Everything ran so smoothly. When the music needed to be mellow and part of the background, it was. When it was time to dance and party and crank it up, he did just that. There was a mix of music for people of all ages, which meant our dance floor was filled the entire evening. His awesome work even got folks dancing who NEVER dance (including us, the bride and groom). Many of our guests commented on the music and how awesome it was, which means he did an amazing job. I only wish we could have another wedding just so we could hire him again!

When it came to picking the wedding caterer, my wife and I had to meet with at least four of them before making our final decision. The florist? We met with three. And how about the DJ? Just one. Because when we first met Aaron at a wedding vendor event, we knew there was something special about him. (Well, his hair alone screamed special!)
We listened to some of his mixes on his website and liked his work. After our initial consultation, it only took a quick five-​minute conversation for us to decide that we wanted him to be a part of our special day. Aaron was always easy to work with, responsive to emails, and answered all our questions.
AVL Entertainment had so much music for us to chose from! All the music is neatly organized according to important sections of the wedding, such as wedding party entry, first dance, cake cutting, etc. This makes it so much easier to pick songs for different parts of the reception. The exclusive music selection is top notch!
Aaron was always willing to work with our vision of having classic 20’s music during cocktail hour, pop hits by Sinatra and Tony Bennett during dinner, and of course, an awesome dancing session! Aaron was totally in-​tune with old classic music, and knows the meaning of classic.
Aaron also did an awesome job of reading the crowd! The day of the wedding, he felt it would be a bit difficult to get everyone to the dance floor right after the first dance, so he decided to start things off with a slow dance and invite all the lovebirds to the dance floor. After the slow song, he jumped into «Rock around the Clock» and the older crowd, which was already on the dance floor, erupted into pandemonium. He eventually worked things along into the present day and played all the hit dance songs we requested. He did an awesome job of intertwining the classic Italian dance songs into the wedding to make our parents and aunts and uncles swoon!
Aaron was also more than willing to work with my wife’s vision; he understood how important the father-​daughter dance was to her. She had a creative idea of intertwining her and her father’s three favorite songs into one consecutive song, which wouldn’t be easy because they were completely different. After working late into the night and into the morning (maybe on multiple occasions), he was able to realize her vision!
The best part of working with Aaron was seeing his passion for music come through. He’s not just some guy with a MacBook and a music collection; he truly lives for his work and embodies it. Would we book AVL Entertainment again? Absolutely!

Booking AVL Sound Design for my wedding was truly one of the best decisions I could have made!!! Aaron is so professional and personable he makes the whole process easy and seamless and that’s huge when you’re a bride planning your wedding where even the tiniest of details can overwhelm you.
Aaron took the time to listen to the type of music my husband and I like, which is quite diverse (everything from Tupac to Tim McGraw) and was able to incorporate a little bit of everything! He also had some great suggestions for songs our guests may enjoy and as a result I don’t think our dance floor was empty at any point during the celebration.
What makes AVL Sound Design unique is they truly «design» the music played at your event to create a mood and atmosphere. From the ceremony, to cocktail hour, through the reception all the way to the dance party the music told a story. I couldn’t be happier with the way everything turned out and still to this day people are complimenting me on our our event and how great Aaron was at keeping the party going :).

I really didn’t know what to expect at first, being that I’ve never hired a DJ. I figured you just tell them some of the stuff you like, some must haves, and must have nots, and then the DJ just does whatever the hell he feels like. Thank god, Aaron is NOT this kind of DJ!
AVL is called Sound Design for a reason: He has a system for designing a sort of landscape of sound and entertainment for an amazing evening. He consults with you as much as you like, and I’m glad we had him, because he brings up great points and questions like «Are you sure all the grandparents are going to have a good time while I’m playing your requested death metal songs?». Oh yeah, good point LOL.
Aaron worked with my wife and I to get a really great pool of songs for the right moments of our wedding. He gave suggestions for different moments, but knew it was ultimately our day and was cool with everything we asked for. For the we just gave him some stuff we liked for the dance party at the end of the night and ultimately just told him to go sick. THIS is the difference between Aaron and some guy with a PA system and an iPod. He can feel the crowd and read what people love and guide the party in that direction.
The dance party was my favorite part of the reception, and Aaron was really great about being flexible with the time!

I had Aaron dj my wedding years ago. He also plays at all of my private events. He truly sets himself apart by creating custom designs per event to bring an atmosphere and style through the music and layering of songs. He has talent and skill and has the ability to bring energy to an event. I definitely recommend him! He skips the cheese factor and goes straight to bad ass.
