Australian Tan

I was a member for approximately a year and have been to other locations. (Bernal road, Blossom hill)
The staff are always friendly and accommodating and I never had a bad experience in any salons.
The beds are always clean and they always have promotions going on. I believe that the membership is worth the price and that Australian Tan offers the best prices.
However, I gave two stars because cancelling your membership is a nightmare. You can’t cancel in any stores. You have to mail it to the Head quarter’s office and you have until the first 2 weeks of the month otherwise they will charge you. What a major hassle.
Also, there was so many times that they charged my account $ 20 extra because my account «didn’t go through» the first time they ran it and they have a policy that if your card doesn’t go through the first time, they will charge $ 20 extra which is frustrating. To avoid this, I suggest you go to the salon and pre pay.
To make the story short: Great salon with great staff but cancelling your membership and the whole «charge $ 20 extra if your card doesn’t go through the first time» policy is a NIGHTMARE.

This place is all about customer service and cleanliness! Not once have a ever gone in here and saw it dirty or dusty. Almost every girl there is super friendly, though it seems like I see new faces often they all seem to be nice when I come in. They frequently have great deals and their price for membership is very reasonable.

So lost my credit card forgot to update Australian tan since I was kind of worried about everything else… anyways come in today and there’s a $ 20 fee to update my card… where’s the customer royalty at Australian? Been coming here for over two years and referred many girls who now have memberships… I could understand like $ 5, but really $ 20? Seems a bit ridiculous…

Thank you (once again!) to Patricia who did her steps of duty as a manager, and even went beyond, to provide a solution.
I pre paid in cash for my next month of services at another location, only to have the auto deduction also come through a few days later when it was the new month. So instead of $ 74 once, now I had paid $ 74 twice.
Being on a budget that allows very limited extra money, and rent being due, the second charge was more important to me than most people.
She swiftly checked the records, contacted corporate, they called me, and within 24 hours I had the second charge back in my account.
Patricia is a no let down type of young lady. I highly recommend seeing her weekdays! Her lotion suggestions are in line with your desired results, and she cares about the outcome.
***my suggestion– spray tanning after beds, really keeps your skin moisturized, bronzed, and even! Partner it with changing beds level 1 through 5 during visits, your color will be on with a vengeance! I use the Cocktail Lotion on days that I double
dip. There are awesome lotions for bed use only also!
***Another suggestion– when you can sign up for it… GO AMBASSADOR! Unlimited bed tanning, spray tans, discounts on lotions, and monthly free money! Ask about it!

I am changing my review based on the customer service I was given upon my cancellation. I was told that indeed I hadn’t been able to use my membership and that was something they felt badly about. The girl that helped me then gave me two free spray tans to use after my last day of membership so they at least addressed the issue on my exit. I still think there could have been better ways to deal with it at the corporate level. But with the very little power that the girls who work at the salons are given, they did the best they can.

Love this place. The only place I will ever go to tan! Even though the machines are broken here and there I’ve never been unhappy! And I love all the people that work there! This is the only location I go to to tan!

I’m compelled to write this because I’ve been an Ambassador member for over 2 yrs now. A girl needs her VIT D! Ive visited this location 3 times, and EVERY time there is some issue. The spray tan booth is broken this time. Last time one of the employees put 2 of her friends in the bed I had been waiting for with no apology or even the decency to feel bad. She said «they called ahead» BS. Another time I was shown to a bed with broken fixtures and buttons. The problem may lie in the fact that at this location the employees are all 16 and seem to be very ill equipped for anything more than clicking a couple of buttons on the computer. How dare I expect more from a business that deals in SKIN. The largest organ in the human body!!!

I absolutely LOVE Australian. I’ve never been to another location besides the Campbell one, but I’ve never had a bad experience here. I went in today to change my membership around and the girls were sooooo incredibly helpful. Patricia did everything she could to make sure I got the package and lotion that was best for me. They’re also so knowledgable about the lotions and the best bed to start in since I was previously only doing spray tans before. Can’t wait to go back!

Love love love this place! I have tanned in so many different salons over the years, from Massachusetts, to Texas, to SoCal, & up to NorCal. This salon is definitely in my top 3 favorite salons. It’s clean, the girls behind the counter are AWESOME, the beds are high quality, & the prices are perfect! 5 stars ALL the way!

I called this location to ask a question about spray tans. The lady who answered the phone was really rude and had an angry tone in her voice. I could tell she didn’t care to help me at all. All I had was a simple question. What a bummer.

My first time getting a spray tan last week. I’ve been back a second time. I really like the machine they use.
The customer service at this particular Australian Tan is amazing. On both of my visits the same 2 girls have been at the front desk. They are both friendly and helpful. For my first visit one of them spent at least 5 minutes giving me step by step instructions on how to use the tanning machine. Very friendly and welcoming.

Great customer service and super clean! New tanning beds with awesome results! Highly recommend! Sometimes there’s a wait but there’s a Starbucks right next door, so you can grab a coffee while you wait!

They are great, excellent customer service and awesome results, I highly recommend this location since it’s not that busy and they always have available beds…
It’s not easy to cancel the membership

Love this place! The girls are all so sweet and super friendly to talk to if you are waiting for a bed. They also are very good about informing you when bulbs have been changed in a bed (and if you have ever been in a bed with new bulbs without being told in advance you know how necessary that is)
Always have really great promotions going on as well! Unlimited upgrades until summer yes please!

LOVE Australian Tan! After moving here from Sacramento, I was having such a hard time finding a nice, clean tanning salon that wasn’t crazy-​expensive. At Australian, I pay about $ 40 a month unlimited and it’s so worth it! I’ve gone to multiple locations and all rooms have been clean, with a fresh towel for me. I love how they have multiple locations, so I can go tanning no matter which part of SJ I’m in. As far as locations go, this Campbell one is my fave. It’s close to my house (always a plus) and the girls are super nice here (as opposed to the one on Saratoga– ehhhh not so nice). The girls here always tell me about specials or discounts that are going on and make great suggestions (without being pushy). They even remember my name too before I even check in ! Great customer service!

Their cancellation policy is ruinous. To cancel, you have to mail in a card via certified mail?! Which is extremely unprofessional and talking to other tanning salons, none of them do that. SO, I emailed a scanned copy of their card and also mailed it out. Watch out. A person is stupid if they go to here. If the business was any good, they would be professional. I cancelled because their light bulbs suck and they made me wait when other beds were available. I know the whole upgraded beds deal but other tanning salons have let me use those beds when the economy ones were busy even though I am not in an upgraded membership. Kind of like how rental car companies give a free upgrade when the economy car is not available. It is a good business practice and this company does not do good business practices as evident by their cancellation policy.

I’ve only been to this location once. The girls here are super nice and helpful, but the location just is difficult, with parking. Too congested, perhaps.
The beds were nice, but I prefer the Saratoga location.

I use to live in Santa Cruz and there were no Australian Tans there, so I went to a place in Capitola called Paradise Tanning. I like to use them as a template of grading all tanning salons, cause they are simply the best. But this isn’t a review about them so ill get to it.
I had tanned here (Saratoga location) once before and thought it was meh just okay. But since I recently moved close to the Campbell one I thought I’d give this place a shot. And I really enjoy it.
To me, everything is about customer service. And the ladies that work here are all so friendly & helpful. Any questions I have about my package or upgrading or putting a hold on my account they answer thoroughly. Same goes about lotions and tanning questions.
I usually go in the evenings because I’m a stay at home mom and its when I have some free time to myself. One girl that works there is super friendly and remembers my name. I really think having nice, friendly staff MAKES a business. Especially in one that’s in beauty.
The prices are decent, the place is always clean (never used the bathroom, though). And even if I have to wait for a bed, which I never mind doing, they’ve got all the latest magazines so waiting doesnt feel like a pain!
I’d definitely recommend this place to any of my friends looking for a great place to tan.

I’ve only been here twice, with the «bring a friend» pass.
So, I belong to another tanning place a few miles from here. I got their membership through a Living Social deal and it was the 1^st time Ive ever been tanning, so I really didnt know what else was out there.
When I came to Australian Tanning with my friend for the 1^st time I was totally impressed. Its gorgeous inside and the high end technology was interesting to me. They can control the booths from their lobby computers. They are able to tell exactly how many minutes someone has left and give a current wait time, if need be.
Very clean, very quiet, very private. Both times, the girls were absolutely sweet.
When my membership at my current tanning sh*t hole runs out, I am coming here.
