Specialties
The term gastropub, a portmanteau of gastronomy and pub, originated in England in the late 20th century.
Generally speaking, a gastropub is a public house that specializes in high-quality fresh and seasonal cuisine. Gastropubs combine the atmosphere of a casual pub with the cuisine of a fine restaurant, often with an emphasis on traditional comfort foods and micro brewed or imported beers. Classic pub food is usually found in spirit, even if the chef applies his or her gastronomic training to the dish.
