I’m Paul Norman, owner and operator of Sherpadog Renovations. Why Sherpadog? I love Tibetan Terriers and Sherpa was my first one. He’s the one in my logo.
I’m not a young guy but I began my career that way. My father owned his own construction company and built custom houses in the northeast Ohio area near Cleveland. I started working for him in the summers as a young lad of 14. Dad was a hard taskmaster and a good teacher who gave me practical knowledge of all parts of house construction from foundation to roof. He began as a cabinet maker and taught me the value of precision and problem solving in work.
I am a licensed Home Improvement Contractor (Massachusetts license #1 688 752). I have an A rating on Angie’s List, Home Advisor, and an A+ on the Better Business bureau. I pride myself in my work and regard clients as partners.
My main areas of interest are carpentry, cabinet construction and installation, furniture construction, interior painting, and tile work. I don’t do exterior work at anything above the first floor (unless there is a solid floor under me). That’s a strict order from my wife. I am also a luthier (guitar builder) specializing in highly customized wooden resonator guitars.
I gather the facts of the job, price the labor, provide material estimates, make sure the client knows what is to be done, and write a contract that protects both the client and me.
History
Established in 2003.
I began working in the trades at a very young age because my father was in the custom home building business in Northeast Ohio (near Cleveland). When I moved east I also moved into the high tech sector and was employed as a Principal Software Engineer for several years. When 9⁄11 came along, I was working for an airline consultancy business. The next week, I was laid off.
So I went back to my roots in 2003 and started doing remodeling work. I am now a licensed Home Improvement Contractor (MA #168 875). I have A ratings from Home Advisor and Angie’s List. I have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. I work alone for the most part and do one job at a time. Once you hire me, you are my only customer until the job is completed to your satisfaction.

«These folks do drywall and plastering. They work fast, clean, and for a reasonable rate. I have even used them on my house.»
