Established in 2012.

After almost 15 years in the industry in January 2012 I became an independent freelance stylist currently located in Cambridge, MA. My passion for hair, make up and style have opened many opportunities to grow and work directly with my clients old and new. Through consultation and listening I can offer you ideas and recommendations for the best color or cut to bring out the most individual style for you. Always taking into consideration suitability, face shape, and skin tone as well as life style and maintenance.

Julie is fun, funny, a great listener, and does amazing things with hair. She has been doing my coloring for the past 6 months and I love my trips to see her. I have a preference for a bright almost-​white blonde and she always delivers. She also does wonderful haircuts based on the shape and contours of your face.

I have been visiting Julie for almost a year now and she is phenomenal. She cares greatly for her work and provides excellent cuts and color. From when I first walked in, I felt like I was in good hands. She communicates well, listening for what I wanted and explaining what she is doing as she goes. The highlights she did have held up beautifully, and look both natural and fun.
But on top of all that, she is tremendously fun and friendly to visit with. It makes appointments extremely entertaining and enjoyable. I can’t recommend Julie enough.

I have been a client of Julie’s for over 14 years, she used to work at Blue in Lexington, and now she’s here in Cambridge. I would follow Julie to the ends of the earth.
Julie is one talented gal. Her cuts are amazing, and her color is perfect everytime. I get asked often, «who does your hair?». The women I have referred to Julie were thrilled, so now it might be time to share «my Julie» with all of you Unilocalers.
Julie is an honest stylist, she will tell you what will and won’t work for your hair and face shape. She works wonders!
I love to go in and get a blow dry for special nights out, and she makes me feel like a million bucks!
Her prices are more than reasonable. If you are looking for a change, give Julie a try, you won’t be disappointed.

I have been seeing Julie Labanara for years. There was a time when I let someone else highlight me… big mistake! Never again will I let anyone else touch my locks.
She is also great with kids. She’s been doing my daughter“s hair her whole life, Now at 21, she still loves the cut she gets every time, never a compliant!
She is the best stylist… by far!

Julie is an excellent stylist. I have been having Julie cut and color my hair for many years, and she is amazing at what she does. She really takes the time to listen during all of my consultations to find out exactly what I want. Anytime I want to make a change she will be honest and let me know what will look best, and I always end up loving it! (Trust me I have tried many different styles and colors). I have recommended several friends to Julie and everyone raved about what a great job she did and they all have kept going to her.
