Rip off. I stopped in here because I was low on gas. Yes, I could have made it a little further, but hey, never know, right? First, I noticed that the price advertised on the big marquee was about 12 cents higher than other stations. It’s ok, I was here, and I figured I’d just throw in a couple of dollars. I threw in my card, then I saw it: credit is 14 cents more than cash? 14 cents? The question of whether stations should be doing this at all is still on the table, but if the card agreement says 3 percent then the absolute max they should be charging in $ 2.00 is 6 cents.
If this is how they rip you off at their pumps, I can’t imagine what a bill for brakes looks like. Avoid them.

Came to the area for an emissions inspection, but didn’t find the place we were originally going to, so tried these guys. The test was super quick, and the mechanic advised us that the wipers should be changed (we haven’t done that in a long time). He gave us a choice of three models and installed the one we liked.
We also had a non-working fog light, which he replaced, but it turned out electronics was the problem, so he said he’d need more time. We decided to postpone it.
Overall, the service seemed good and the pricing fair.

Ended up here by chance when my mini cooper broke down across the street. I was able to pull the car into the service center, where George the mechanic immediately went to work diagnosing the problem.
The computer in my car was down so it took extra work just to reset it and figure out what the problem was (it ended up being the throttle actuator). The guys got it up and running by the following afternoon, and kept me in the loop the whole time. I did my research while the car was there to be sure they were quoting me a fair price, which they did.
I’m not sure why this place has such bad reviews, I had a good experience with them. They were fair and honest.

Hobbled in on a flat tire and quickly got it repaired for 80% less than I feared it’d cost. And the mechanics were friendly and helpful. Only one thing irked me: when I asked how much it’d be, he said «$ 10/15,» which I took to mean $ 15 … but when I paid with a twenty he didn’t offer me any change. The funny thing is I was going to offer the extra $ 5 as a tip!
Oh, and the same tire deflated again within five minutes, while I was filling up the tank. They apologized and found and fixed another nail hole alongside the first one. At least this second repair was on the house.
They seem genuine, and they owned up to their mistake, which means a lot.

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS AS MECHANICS
I got my car towed to them to fix my breaks. They did a «repair» costing me $ 650. For the next year my breaks felt exceptionally soft and I wondered if they did anything at all. I eventually brought the car to my old mechanic in western Mass to find out these guys seriously F***ed up the job. My breaks were almost completely shot and bolts were missing, the new repair cost me another $ 800 bucks. Not only did they seriously screw me over they also put my life at risk.

These guys worked on my car recently to fix an ignition problem. When I picked it up after, it was a mess. Grease all over the steering wheel and shifter knob. Also, they put my steering wheel back together wrong. Turn signal didn’t work well and a screw was left on the floor. Sloppy workmanship!

Do not bring your car here!!! These guys used DUCT TAPE to repair my car. I’m not joking. They replaced my starter a couple of months ago. I’ve had to bring it back 3 times because the car still wouldn’t start, and each time the mechanic told me he just had to make a «small adjustment». When the same issue happened for the 4^th time, I brought the car to the dealership, who informed me that part of the starter was held together with duct tape! Yes, the mechanic at Fresh Pond Shell charged me for 3 repairs, and each time, «fixed» my car with duct tape. I can’t even believe it. Don’t bring your car here.

Be very careful with these people. I had some work done to (lower ball joint, CV joint, etc.) the driver’s side of my car. The total bill was $ 600. I thought that was a bit high, but the car was towed there and they had me by the balls. To be safe, I had the other side done at my normal mechanic. Well, the same exact job cost me $ 210. It was a total scam job. Everything was way too expensive. They charged me $ 250 for a CV joint??? They only cost $ 80 max and the ball joint which is a $ 30 part they charged me $ 89. The list goes on, but you get the point. I DO NOT recommend using this auto repair company.

I have been taking my older cars (90 Honda & 95 Mazda) to George at Fresh Pond Shell for almost 10 years. He does good work at a fair price. Part of this is his willingness to look for used parts if these make sense for a specific repair.
When I was at a Midas shop and Midas gave me an estimate of @ $ 900 to fix my exhaust. I took the car to George and he fixed the exhaust and installed 2 tires for $ 500.
I completely trust them with my car.

I work close to this shell, and when I had a car, I would bring it here for repairs. I always found the guys really honest and thoughtful and not creepy at all. They could’ve taken major advantage of me, price-wise, as a woman (and hey, for all I know, they did!) but I didn’t get that impression at all. They replaced my transmission and told me I could bring it in long after the standard 90-day warranty, since they stood by their work. I thought that was really great.
