Love this place. Delicious food. Good coffee. Good service. Always crowded but worth the wait.

Lucked out and got a sticky bun at noon. Wish I would have known their lunches looked so fantastic and I would have saved myself for it. The pastries are wonderful The sticky bun was wonderful and the place is cute, customer service is great and everyone is just happy to be in a place that drips of the smell of sugar and pastry

First time here and I absolutely loved it! I’ve heard so many good things about this place but never gave it a chance, but I’m glad I did. The food: Roasted Chicken Sandwich– soooo tasty. The avocado mash really went well with the crunch from the jicama. The sandwich danced beautifully in my mouth. It was such a good blend of flavors. A+ Sticky bun– no wonder it’s so popular! All I gotta say is give it a try. The sweetness and texture was at the perfect level. Crème Brûlée– small and sweet treat. The glaze on top gave it a nice crunch with the soft custard. The service was also outstanding too. The people there are so welcoming and nice. It’s hard to keep a smile when the place is constantly packed with customers. They barely get a break! The workers here are fantastic! At first I thought this place was overhyped but not at all. The five stars are definitely very well deserved! I’m excited to try Flour from another branch!

Service was friendly and fast as the line moved pretty quickly on a Sunday afternoon. I only came for the sticky buns, which sold out an hour before closing, and it was all my fault. I had to buy 5 sticky buns, you know?! They were so warm and gooey with the perfect amount of sweetness. I don’t even like walnuts, but they were good on top of the buns.

I took a short trip to Boston and during my stay I MADESURE to stop by! I’ve heard the hype and ok the compliments of the sticky buns from flour bakery so I had to try it for myself! This was our first stop in the morning, making it our breakfast and it was the best choice! HAHA. The sticky buns were AMAZING. Mmm. So moist, chewy, and sweet, but not overwhelmingly sweet. It went perfectly with my iced coffee. This bakery seems to be quite busy at all times of the day, but they take care of each order quickly. So don’t be intimidated by the line! The sticky buns definitely lived up to the hype!

I love Flour, because not only do they have yummy food, they also cater to a variety of tastes(gluten-free? you got it! vegan/vegetarian? yup! bacon-lover? no problem!) So whoever is in town visiting, we usually find something to eat at Flour. Unfortunately, that’s not a secret anymore, so the lines can be looooooong! And they have run out of vegan pastries before :-(so I try to get there on the early side if I can. Vegan chocolate cake? Amazing. Try it, even if you are not vegan!

Flour is a reliable home base — somewhere I know where I can go and order something that I will thoroughly enjoy. In my case, Flour houses my favorite sandwich, the smoked salmon sandwich. There’s something with the construction of this sandwich — the amount of salmon, the amount of cream cheese, onions, use of arugula, the slices of sourdough — that make this sandwich one of my favorites, if not my favorite. The mulled apple cider that is also available nowadays was also really delicious; just be careful because I definitely scalded my mouth on it! Flour’s breakfast sandwich is also unique in that the egg in the sandwich is almost at a tofu-like texture, which I have never seen in a sandwich. It gives the sandwich a light, fluffy quality, unlike a scramble or a hard boil. The sticky bun should also be regarded as one of the finest, especially when you have it warmed up. Just a warning, as other Unilocalers have mentioned, the line gets long during the peak breakfast and lunch times, so as long as you go during the off hours, you should have a really great experience. Keep your ears out for when they call you for your food though because it could be difficult to hear over the hustle and bustle!

Their whole wheat boule is one of the better whole wheat breads I’ve had. Super flavorful — about halfway to a sourdough — and also very light for a whole wheat bread. Would also recommend their sticky buns, carrot cake, and hazelnut dacquoise cake. Overall very quality food, though maybe a bit overpriced.

Doesn’t have the same cuteness and appeal of the other locations(I’ve been to the one near the Waterfront area), but still seems to offer the same nice treats. The location also seems a bit off, as it’s a pretty far walk from the centers of Kendall and Central Squares. Still, there doesn’t seem to be any other decent coffee shop in it’s vicinity so it’s got a monopoly on that if you’re looking for a coffee shop to hang out and do work in. And overall not a bad place to pop in for that. I just subtract one star because of the location and interior which doesn’t seem as nice as their other locations.

Ordered from here for a lunch party at work and was blown away by their customer service. They were quick, understanding and friendly. They arrived early and the food was neatly packed and everything, everything was included and they gave us plenty of additional supplies. The food was nicely labeled and the meals that had food allergies were marked and separated. Definitely worth it for catering!

Quick update. The roasted lamb sandwich is a bit unexpected. The overall flavour is more sweet than savoury and the lamb is cold. The tomato soup is very acidic. Not my thing. Drinks and desserts are always delicious. The smoked applewood bacon sandwich is a guaranteed winner.

Excellent place to grab breakfast! It was a horribly rainy morning, so we were able to easily find a place to site around 10:00am. I had the egg sandwich with bacon and a soy latte(ok, there’s a lemon ginger scone waiting for me in my bag, too). The breakfast sandwich was really very good — it was a freakin’ huge rectangular slab of what seemed almost like an egg custard, because it was soft on the inside. The bacon was of very high quality, although it and the cheese seemed to be in a fight with my egg and jet trying to escape the sandwich. The ciabatta roll was ok, but wasn’t nearly as delicious as I had hoped for from a bakery. My latte was only meh. I barely tasted coffee. But still overall a great breakfast!

Their breakfast egg sandwich with bacon and their lamb sandwich are amazingly delicious. Best sandwiches I’ve ever had but I’m also from Chicago and I’ve heard that Boston takes their sandwiches seriously. Their lamb sandwich has this creamy goat cheese and tomato chutney which tastes perfect with the mounds of lamb they put on it. I could eat two but then I wouldn’t have room for their egg sandwich. I think it’s the dijonaise that they put on the egg sandwich to make it so tasty. Their Boston cream pie is really good. It’s not overly sweet, the cake is really spongy, and the cream is light. I’ve tried the famous sticky bun which is surprisingly soft on the inside with delicious toasted pecans to give it a crunch. I would suggest sharing it unless you really like rich pastries. I would suggest not getting any of their coffees. It tastes like dirty water. I hate saying that but their sandwiches and pastries totally make up for it. Also it’s a small but really busy place so if you’re waiting for your food, plan to wait awkwardly while bumping into a lot of people.

Cute, tasty, EXPENSIVE pastry(priced even higher than comparable bakeries recognized by James Beard et al that I’ve been to in NYC, SF and other cities). The coffee tasted like an afterthought and can use improvement(or a lot of improvement depending on the barista), but maybe I’ve just gotten unlucky. Wouldn’t hesitate to stop in again, the carbs here are worth the calories(esp. the sticky bun). Recommended.

Cream cheese Danish was super good — moist soft Danish and cream cheese wasn’t tart or over powering. Americano was great — plenty of crema to go around. Sticky sticky bun was really good moist and dense. I don’t like caramel and apparently it’s made of caramel… I wouldn’t have said there was any. Almond croissant was soft when not eating the ends. Breakfast sandwich with bacon was good-different but too much mustard… that’s all I tasted. Side order of bacon was ok. A little bland, surprisingly.

I came here on a Saturday around 1pm for a late lunch. The order lines may seem long when you initially step into the store, but they go by fast. The desserts are immediately provided to you by the cashiers, but you need to wait for the other food items(ex: sandwiches etc). The wait for food is not too bad though(you can always eat dessert first). Order your dessert/food, pay at the cashier and then go look for a seat! They will call out your name when the food is ready so you will need to go up to pick up your food. The place is limited on seating so group settings are not recommended although you can try to work around and and still find seats for groups… Free water is available as well as to-go utensils or normal utensils. 2 unisex washrooms available for use. unfortunately the one I used that day was not clean. :/ Food Roast Beef Sandwich — definitely tasty! YUM! The crispy onions add a special touch to it. I enjoyed the sandwich because it was perfect in every way(amount of ingredients that were utilized to make the sandwich, the flavor, and the size). I would recommend this sandwich over the others ones. :) Sticky buns — They are known for their sticky buns and I agree that is pretty tasty! You can probably share one sticky bun among 2 – 3 people or more depending on how hungry you are and/or if you want to try the other dessert options at the bakery. Costs: ranges from $ 8.50+ for sandwiches and $ 3.00+ for desserts I want to come here and try each item on their dessert menu! I’ll definitely come back if I’m in the area.

About time for another Flour review update. Still loving on Flour. Friendly, efficient service and awesome pastries. Indoor and outdoor seating. Prone to crowds. Items I have found and loved since the last time I reviewed Flour: — Curried Tuna Sandwich — why did I not try this sooner! I hadn’t tried a tuna fish sandwich in a long time and for some reason was in the mood for one, one day. I’ve been getting the curried tuna sandwich ever since. — Cakes! — I ordered 2 cakes for a wedding celebration and they were both amazingly delicious. The gluten free chocolate cake is out of this world — I think about it often, longingly. The lemon raspberry cake was also good — on the sweet side, but tart and yummy.

This location of Flour Bakery was my 2nd visit to the Boston chain during my 4-day trip to the city. It’s also the first time I finally tried the famed sticky bun that I’d read and heard so much about. This location also offers seating outside, which we took advantage of. My first taste of the oh-so-popular sticky bun was at this location. I shared it with two other people and immediately regretted it after taking my first bite. Absolutely delicious! It tasted like a donut/pecan pie/cinnamon bun — the best things in the world all in one. I would suggest getting these fresh. When I had it here, it was early afternoon and it was cold. I only discovered warm sticky buns the next morning and now I can’t go back! Flour is the best!

Recommended items: Sticky bun, their quiche of the day, and most likely everything else Stay away from: Not eating here. You’ll regret it. Got the quiche, sticky bun, almond meringue cloud, crème brûlée, and freshly squeezed orange juice with my girlfriend for a nice brunch. The quiche… oh man the quiche… it was the BEST quiche I have ever had! ITLITERALLYMELTEDINMYMOUTH. It was sooooo soft and sooooooo creamy and sooooooooooo good… I wish I got twice slices… Their sticky bun was equally good in a different way. So sticky and sweet yet not to the point where it was sickening. Maybe if I ate 3+ buns, I may have gotten tired of them. The almond meringue cloud was… interesting. It was kind of overshadowed by the awesome quiche and sticky bun. My girlfriend seemed to like it though. The crème brûlée was pretty standard. I wish it was a bit less thick and a bit more creamy as it ended up tasting more like pudding brulee. The oj was pretty standard. I’d come here again.

Oh Flour-why are you so perfect? Flour’s lunch sandwiches are fantastic. You can chose to get them toasted but the bread is freshly baked in house everyday so it’s delicious and tender enough to enjoy! My favorite sandwich is the lamb but I have ventured into some of their other sandwiches and calzone type lunch options. Everything is clearly labeled with allergens and food components although they make the distinction that they are a bakery and nothing there can truly be guaranteed gluten or nut free. But let’s face it, I come here for the dessert. The lemon meringue pie(LMP) has become my favorite here. It is a perfect balance of the tart lemon filling with the flaky crust and fluffy meringue. The sticky buns here put all other sticky buns to shame, and their peppermint-meringues available at Xmas are some of the reasons why I trek out here. I’ve never tried their home made Oreos, poptarts, and other goods based on mass market items but they look fantastic. Specifically there’s a matcha Oreo with my name on it. Every time I’m in town I make an excuse to visit flour. Whether for their croissants(so flaky!), their LMP, or a different confection! The only downside is that the line is sometimes long and you have a few too many people who believe buying a cookie gets them 4 hours at a table with a laptop. If you can, scout ahead for a seat and when you do sit down, please be courteous and vacate your spot as soon as you’re ready so another customer can get the chance to enjoy their food at flour!

I come to Flour frequently, because there aren’t many healthy options around KSQ. Is it worth waiting in the long lines during the lunch rush? No. However, it’s the closest to my building and I will come here when necessary for the bakery and desserts! TIP: * To beat the morning & lunch rush, place your order over the phone and pay with your credit card for easy and fast pick-up. * Ask for your sandwiches toasted. Otherwise, they come on cold bread. salads: + QUINOA/TOFU: This salad is a better option than the others, and I usually add chicken. — BARLEY/PEAS/KIMCHI: This Asian-fusion salad really does not taste that great. It’s very dry, but the miso vinaigrette gives the salad some redeeming quality. — GREENGODDESS: This is just a glorified greek-inspired Caesar salad with a bit more interesting of a dressing. I really don’t care for bland salads. sandwiches: + BREAKFASTEGGSANDWICH: The egg portion of this sandwich is a massive block and is completely yellow, making me question how many eggs are in this sandwich. However, it is topped with tomato and arugula, adding vegetables to your morning. The dijonaise sauce is really good on the sandwich. — ROASTBEEF: The horseradish mayo on this sandwich is extremely overpowering. The crispy onions also make this sandwich not ideal for mobile situations. — ROASTEDLAMB: This lamb needs to be cooked longer or something. I had the sandwich pressed, but the lamb had a cold cut-like quality and I really did not like that at all. ~ STICKYBUNS: Yes, Flour is praised for these buns. I do think they are good, but they are also a heart attack. I can eat maybe ¼−½ of one of these, and I tap out. The dark caramel is really sweet and overpowering. However, as a bakery they do deliver on their baked goods. We have gotten tarts, cakes, desserts, and breads from the bakery for special occasions at work, and they are always great. Final verdict? Go to Flour for what it is, a BAKERY. They do offer a ton of other options for lunch & dinner, but after trying many of their popular items I only return for the baked goods.

Looking for a good place for a quick breakfast and Flour is only a mile away from the place I’m staying so why not! I ordered a sticky bun and an iced coffee. No complaints here! The sticky bun was so good! And what’s even better that it wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet which is definitely a plus. Fast service and plenty of seats before 9. Hits 9 am and this place is packed! Glad I chose Flour for my quick bite :)

Yumm this place made for a perfect afternoon snack/meal. This is such a cute bakery and it was fairly packed around 3pm when my boyfriend and I swung by. I got a slice of banana bread and oh my yes, if you like banana bread please do yourself a favor and pay $ 2.50 for a slice. ITISSOGOOD. I hate the word moist but it’s literally the only way to describe the banana bread. Moist(hehe), flavorful, and delicious. My roast beef sandwich was also very good. I got it without the horseradish mayo and the fried onion straws added so much flavor. I was incredibly full. My boyfriend’s grilled roasted chicken sandwich was tasty as well, and the iced green tea isn’t too sweet, leaving it refreshing with a slightly minty taste. $ 8.50 a sandwich is a liiiittle bit steep, but overall I really enjoyed the food here. Even though it was busy, the staff moved through the line quickly. Would likely visit again if I’m in the area

Do I need to reiterate how amazing the divine piece of pastry also known as the sticky bun is? I can’t believe that after living in Cambridge for 5 years, I only tried the sticky buns this past weekend. It was so perfectly ooey, gooey, sweet, and delightful. The perfect treat for a lovely weekend. The only reason why I didn’t give them 5 stars is because the portion for the sandwiches were a little disappointing, especially considering the price you’re paying($ 8.50 for just the sandwich). Out of the lamb, roast beef, and chicken sandwich with brie, the roast beef is probably the best bang for your buck. If you’re really hungry, I don’t suggest coming here to sequester your appetite, but definitely check out the bakery items(I suggest the crème brûlée as well). You won’t be disappointed!
