History

Established in 1978.

Established in 1978 as an «urban business experiment» by a couple of irreverent MBA’s, the company swept chimney’s for the first few years. In the 1980’s it aligned itself with a major retailer of wood burning stoves and began installing and servicing stoves and fireplaces. In the late 1990’s Black Magic’s direction changed again and expanded to a showroom and retail sales of gas, wood, pellet, and electric fireplaces, inserts, and stoves. The history and future of Black Magic Chimney and Fireplace is an ever changing, dynamic story as unique as the fire red, rough hewn pine board sheds and barn that make up its showroom in Cambridge’s Fresh Pond neighborhood.
