Great Thai food in a small family restaurant. Ate here twice while in town on business and not let down either time.
Had the Panang Curry with chicken which was tasty and had lots of spice (I ordered med-​hot and wow… feel the Bern on that…)
Dinners come with soup and salad… salad was very simple with an amazing tart dressing with great hints of ginger… totally worked for me
Soup was also great with a flavorful, perfectly clear broth with tasty caramelized shallots and a won-​ton in it…
Second visit had the eggplant with chicken… ordered Medium and WOW… felt the Bern on that one too… if you are sensitive to heat, I’d order mild and/​or a Thai Iced tea to soothe the mouth…
Left very happy and pleased each time… super nice staff and simple but friendly atmosphere…

My husband and I love this place! It’s a small restaurant and the service and food are always good.

First time here. Salad was pretty much iceberg lettuce with a few dark green leaves placed on top. Soup had pork or tofu options but broth seemed to have pork so not vegan. Like the brown or white rice option for same price. Water tasted really bad so we ordered Thai tea, it was ok.
Green curry was more watery than what I was used to. Plates and silverware had spots and sauce/​spice tray was very dirty. Fresh Flowers on table was nice, vase needed cleaning. I killed an ant that made its way onto my plate, which sealed the deal that I won’t be back here. Over priced for average food.

Whenever I’m in the Camarillo area, i always make it a point to stop by this place. Best value for your money. Quick service and great food. Just dont expect too much from the ambiance and décor, but it does the job. Stop by during summer and get the sticky rice!

The best Penang curry chicken I have had since I moved to SoCal. The sauce was extremely flavorful with lots of lemon grass in it. I like that my plate was full of meat and bamboo shoots instead of fillers to make me full. Their chicken satay is great and goes perfect with the peanut sauce. Try the veggie rolls. One of the freshest I ever tried. Strongly recommend to any curry and Thai cuisine lover!

Came to Oxnard with my husband today and decided to stop by Charn Thai. This is a very cute restaurant, it is very clean and well maintained. The customer service is excellent but most important the food is very fresh and very flavorful. I highly recommend the Panang curry it was the best Panang I’ve had, very creamy and spiced to perfection. Our plate was mostly meat and no fillers the way we love it. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience.

Great food and excellent spice level. I am Thai and eat a great deal of Thai food at home and in restaurants. From my experience this location is more authentic than many other Thai restaurants I have been to. If you cannot handle heat I would suggest being conservative with your request on spice. House noodle is a good mix of Thai basil chicken with noodles vs rice (a little fish sauce is the cherry on the cake), great stop.

Kitchen slow as food is cooked fresh. Seafood in thai chilli sauce is excellent. Panang red curry also tasty, though dishes could do better with more curry and served in bowls instead of plates. Average pad Thai and iced tea, ok authentic. Small restaurant, mostly tables for two, menu price high for simple deco. Bangkok Avenue and White Elephant better value and dishes. Keep exploring other yummy cuisines!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Horrible service. Extremely long wait time for all food. 1 hour + for anything. Do not go here if you are hungry or have somewhere to be in the next two hours.
Went here on a Sunday after some shopping at the outlets. My girlfriend and I sat down and ordered an appetizer, curry plate and Tom kha soup. We sat for 30 mins and noticed that everyone around us who were there and ordered before us hasn’t gotten any food yet.
At the 50 minute mark we asked our waitress what was going on and how much longer it would take. She disappears into the kitchen and comes back out without saying a word to us. We try to flag her down but she kept avoiding us and starts wiping down tables. We finally stop her and ask how much longer and she rudely answers it’s coming but doesn’t know how long.
No apologies or anything from the waitress during the excruciating wait. We finally couldn’t wait any longer and decided to leave. All the tables around us also didn’t get any food by the time we left.
The restaurant should tell customers beforehand if the wait time for food is going to be long. 1 hour plus for food is unacceptable. A few people waiting for take out were also waiting for at least 15 mins and didn’t get their food. Service was also terrible.

Wait time for food is unbelievably long. We waited about 50 mins and noticed that not a single meal was on the table in the entire restaurant. Waitress couldn’t tell us how much longer it will take, so we left. I was so amazed how inefficiently they prepare the meals to let that happen. I was seriously wondering what people in the kitchen were doing.

Excellent Thai food. The soup isn’t as thin as I like but it was good. Very authentic and they actually give you the level of spicy you request.

The food here is damn good! REALLY! I mean really good.
Ordered the pad tie, house special rice, and yellow curry. All cooked perfectly.
I took a star away because I had a 15% off discount but they would accept it. Thats just petty.
Also I wouldn’t eat there because it is small and dingy inside.

Food good I guess? The wait was soooooooo long to sit, and people leaving the tables because there was only one waiter. We left too.
I hear the food is good. But, not worth an hour + before you see a sign of food.

We went to a soccer tournement in Camarillo and found this place on Unilocal.It’s a small restaurant but the food was delicious and the waitress very attentive and nice. I can recomend it if you are around in this area.

I began frequenting Charn Thai about twice a week on my lunch break as I work close by. Its a total dive and the food isn’t spectacular but I went mostly for the quiet. Before every visit, I phone my order so that it is ready upon arrival and I can eat within my allotted lunch hour… great!
Today’s experience was different. I called in my order, simple and same as I always order when ordering Thai ANYWHERE– Green Chicken Curry, Extra Spicy. I had to repeat my order 3 times as the lady on the other end of the phone kept repeating it back to me differently. Upon my arrival, I let them know I was Ashlea who had called in the order or GREEN CHICKEN CURRY just minutes before. The waitress looked confused, then CORRECTED me to say I ordered a yellow curry. (Excuse me, what?) I said politely no what I ordered was green curry. She then asked me if I wanted the incorrect curry instead. I replied no and that I wouldn’t mind waiting for the curry that I ordered, and took a seat at the little booth.
It was only moments until I heard a squabble in the kitchen. My ears perked up (I knew the odds were this was about my order being incorrect as I was one of only 4 patrons in the restaurant), and what do you know — IT WAS ABOUT ME!

«THEN WHY DID SHE ORDER YELLOW CURRY??»
#1: I don’t appreciate being pressured into settling for an order that is not mine because someone else didn’t care to hear me correctly
#2:. I also don’t appreciate being told the ONLY dish that Ive ordered at Thai restaurants for YEARS! In fact — «testing out» the GREEN CHICKEN CURRY at various Thai Restaurants is something I really enjoy doing.
#3: I don’t appreciate the very loud squabbling in the kitchen over what had just taken place with my order.
Charn Thai, you are a very small hole-​in-​the-​wall restaurant with just average food. Better learn some customer service and quick!

Worst lunch combo I’ve had in a while. Salty soup. Wilted salad. Salty Pad Thai.
Needless to say I won’t be back.

We stopped by on our way back from Oxnard, noting its convenient location near the outlets!
We came for lunch and got to try their lunch specials which are all about 9 bucks and come with entrée, rice, and choice of two out of soup, salad and egg roll (veggie).
I got the eggplant with tofu, came with tofu vegetable soup and an egg roll. The egg roll was good and pretty basic. The soup was kind of bland but I liked the veggies and brothy nature of the soup.
The eggplant with tofu was so good. It had a great flavor and good spice. I got a ⁶⁄₁₀ on the spice scale.
My friends enjoyed their meals too! The service was attentive and the place was cute. They have limited seating outside but it was so lovely!
My only complaint is that they didn’t have their mango sticky rice maybe bc it was out of season.
Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area. It’s probably just what you need after a long day of shopping.
