My daughters have been part of the CAPA Family for over a decade. As the father of two daughters; I have always wanted them to find an activity that they can love that gives them the opportunity to develop and progress in their craft, increase physical, mental, and emotional endurance; and be in a positive supportive and challenging environment — Camarillo Academy of Performing Arts offers all of this. They offer a variety of levels from beginners for small girls beginning at the age of 3 to adult classes at all levels. They also have a select competitive dance team called Young Dance Artists — which gives dancers the opportunity to take their sport more seriously and participate in 2 – 4 competitions in Southern California during the year. Whether it is tap, jazz, lyrical, pointe, ballet, hip-hop, or modern; young male and female dancers will have the opportunity to learn these, as well as aerial, acrobatics, singing, and musical theatre. All of the teachers that I have encountered have always been very professional, respectful, and understanding. The front office staff comprised of Jill, Lisa, Jackie, and a few others are very kind, patient, accommodating, and want the best for your children. The reason that I know this is that most, if not all of them, have had family and friends attend the studio. CAPA — managed, marketed, and directed by two sisters. — Lauren and Stephanie have both always been very kind, professional, and approachable whenever we have had any questions or concerns. Lauren and Stephanie are also active teachers at the studio, and also have their children enrolled as students. For anyone new to Camarillo or who lives in Camarillo and is interested in dance; I always recommend and encourage families to try a class for free and see if CAPA is right for their family. Based on our experience; we hope that yours would be as pleasant and positive as ours.

I tried their adult/teen hip hop class on Wednesday. First they let you try a full week for free which is nice. Unfortunately as a young adult, there’s just not that many classes available for you. Second, after the first week, tuition to take classes there will just kill you! $$$ which is why I’m taking off a star. Otherwise I have to say their hip hop teacher was this young pleasant girl who was only a few years older than me so I felt we could def relate. I love her style! Lots of big movements and makes you feel like you’re on So You Think You Can Dance or Step Up: P

I worked with CAPA for a number of years constructing costumes for many of their dance classes. I was always impressed by their blend of passion, fun and love they put into the kids. great people.

Great dance academy with a friendly staff and wonderful instructors. Our daughter has been dancing here for 5 years and we know she’s getting great instruction and guidance. Also, this studio has great ethics… They don’t allow inappropriate dancing or costumes. We feel completely comfortable knowing she’s safe and well monitored when we drop her off for classes. Truly a class act studio!
