When I first walked in to Mais Oui Massage & Spa I thought to myself, «the high quality massage I am going to get will for sure make up for the lack of décor, the dirty stained carpets, cobwebs and spiders on the ceilings (no joke), and generally displeasing conditions.» Unfortunately that did not turn out to be the case. I could have accurately judged this book by it’s cover.
The masseuses, although for the most part friendly and cordial, lacked professionalism and most importantly skill. I would describe the massage as an excessively oily rub-down executed with little to no technique. Like someone mentioned in a previous review, it was very clear that the staff had absolutely no formal training. I suppose that would have been fine if the masseuses had some innate talents or had acquired skills through experience, but neither was true.
I left Mais Oui Massage with the same aches and pains I showed up with and without any of the benefits promised in the online brochure. I am sorry to write such a bad review about a small business since I am also small business owner but after looking forward to the massage for two weeks prior and watching my GF spend $ 270.00 for the both of us (granted a pretty good price) I felt I had to speak up.

I treated my husband for Valentine’s Day to the couples Deluxe spa package. The experience was wonderful. We enjoyed everything about it. The owner, Michelle, is really sweet and easy to talk to. We’ll definitely go back!

My friends and I were traveling to the Calistoga area and looking for massages. We didn’t book any appointments ahead of time, and were discouraged after several unsuccessful phone calls to various spas. However Mais Oui was extremely accommodating on such short notice. We had a very narrow window in which we could fit in appointments and the owner was very flexible in making them happen. The location is easy to miss. There are no frills here (and some may be skeptical when they walk inside to what looks like a mostly empty office space). But the massages were good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but certainly worth the money if you’re looking for a basic massage.

Came here for my first ever massage and was very pleased with it!
I spent a lot of time looking for a good place to celebrate our anniversary. This was one of the more affordable options for a couples massage and in a unique setting! The people that greeted us were so welcoming and nice and super social! The two masseuses were very professional and I left feel soo relaxed! I definitely enjoyed this and it was such a great thing to do with my partner.
Note: If you’ve never gotten a deep tissue massage you may avoid it. My bf mentioned that it was a bit rough for him.

I spent the weekend in Calistoga with a friend and we were really looking forward to our spa appointment. It was much better than I expected. Michelle was very sweet, communicated good and did an awesome job with all the services. I dare to say it has one of the best massages I have ever had, and believe me, I’ve had a lot. I would definitely go back next time I’m in the area. I would highly recommend it.

I had my first service at the spa train this weekend and it was wonderful! I chose their seasonal special. It was 100 minutes of relaxation, beautiful aromatherapy and the perfect massage.
The spa train itself was super cute and such a GREAT idea. Very modern but still felt incredibly welcoming and relaxing. It also was very clean and fresh.
My Therapist was timely, professional and a true master at her craft. I never once had to ask for any adjustments to my massage, she simply just got it right.
I wasn’t aware that locals received a discount but after my Therapist learned I was from the area she applied the discount to my total. I LOVED THAT! I guarantee most places wouldn’t have applied that discount unless I mentioned seeing it myself. It was just another treat to this sweet deal and I appreciate the consistency with their clientele.
My favorite facial EVER is a pumpkin facial and Mais Oui offered one in their seasonal package. It is an AMAZING all across-the-board facial and leaves anyones skin feeling rejuvenated, soothed and softened. I will definitely be back for another one of these facials before the season is over.
I own a high-end salon in the Sonoma Valley and I am very particular about customer service, cleanliness, professionalism and quality of work. This place nailed all of these areas and I will recommend them to anyone looking for services Mais Oui provides.
I look forward to booking my next appointment and checking out their location in Napa.

If you’re seeking a massage while in spa country, Mais Oui is a fine option. Perhaps not the most amazing massage you’ll ever have, but the unique setting (in an old train) and competitive pricing (one of the best rates in Calistoga) are worth considering.
We got the 100-minute massage, body scrub & facial package for $ 115 (locals discount). While 100-minutes at the spa sounds great in theory, I realized it was way too long for me. The rooms are dark & quiet, with a fountain and soft music going. You’d never know you in a train car, smack in downtown Calistoga, so bravo to them for maximizing the zen vibes. The massage was above average, definitely professional, but my standard for an excellent massage is when the masseuse always has a hand on you, even when they grab more oil, or move around the room. This is how the real pros do it, never leaving you just laying there, untouched. But really, this is a minor note.
The body scrub was a nice added touch, but didn’t do much beyond feel good in the moment, which I suppose is the whole idea. The facial was also very superficial, more like a face massage than a cleansing experience. No extractions, because you need licensed estheticians to do that. But hey, having anything massaged — even your face — feels good. And you’re probably here to feel good!
If you just want a basic, 1-hour massage, Mais Oui is a darling place in a great location, and they seem to be very accommodating with appointments. Ask for their strongest masseuse if you prefer the deep tissue stuff, and perhaps request a morning appointment so the masseuses will be extra energized and not worn out from other treatments. That’s just my theory, but doesn’t seem too crazy right?

Yesterday I turned 6 months pregnant and wanted a pamper day. I decided that Unilocal has been amazing tool on finding great places and I came across amazing day spa on a train!
I haven’t been able too have a good nights sleep the baby is very active in the middle of the night I wake up stay up so I thought maybe a good relaxing massage would do the trick ?
I decided 4 out of 5 stars is fair lets try Mais Oui Spa train this totally different. The Massage therapist I had was Sara very kind & concerned about my comfort level checking in with me a few times on the pressure!
I was in cabin one I was impressed with the original racks on the train for your belongings very contemporary. I had a robe in a plastic bag if I needed that was in a basket on a bench with a bottle of water I loved the smell of everything I picked peppermint aromatherapy for my massage —
The bed was warm and they had a long pillow for my body that made a big deference laying on your side the music was relaxing it came from under my massage table the train has no showers not that I needed one but they offered me a day pass for a local gym with pools so if I needed too freshen up it was a few mins from the train station at hand.
Over all I think this is a place you will always remember Spa Train excellent treatment with very affordable prices you can’t be that is this high priced valley!
I did give them 4 star but wanted to change it they’re 5 star I’ve been back several times both locations

Another Amazing Experience!
This was my boyfriend and I’s 2^nd time visiting the spa train and I’m so glad we returned. The first time we were in Calistoga celebrating a promotion and received wonderful treatments from Heidi and Amy (please refer to my earlier review).
This weekend we were celebrating my birthday and were treated like royalty by Michelle from the moment I called to book the reservation. Michelle returned my call immediately and was very thorough as she explained the treatment options. When I told her it was a 2^nd visit we were also offered a local discount. Yay! We also wanted to extend our massages and she gave us a great deal for adding extra time.
When we checked in at the spa train we were greeted by Michelle and Sara who were both very sweet and customized the settings in the room for our comfort. The massages were spectacular and I especially loved the custom aromatherapy and yummy salt scrub body polish. Michelle and Sara checked in often about comfort and pressure so we really felt tended to. After our massages we were given treats and we left feeling like a million bucks! I can’t wait to return and you should go try them now!

We had a wonderful experience at Mais Oui! I took my teenaged daughter and her friend for a «Round Trip», $ 125.00 each (plus tip) for massage, body scrub and facial.
Some other spas are more luxurious and also considerably more expensive however the spa train was very friendly, calm and soothing, with fabulous AC. We really needed that on a hot Calistoga day. The masseuses were skillful and friendly… very solicitous. I was with «Becky» and thought she was terrific, able to do Swedish or Shiatsu. She checked with me often as to my comfort level. Also, loved the heated massage table! The girls don’t remember the other names but both loved the experience. We would definitely return the next time we go up to Sonoma.

I was a little hesitant at first to book here just from some of the previous reviews and how hot it is in Calistoga! let alone in a train in the heat! However, it was very pleasant in the air conditioned train.
My boyfriend and I booked a couples special including: 50 minute massages, body scrub and facial and we lOvED it!!!
They asked where we were from and added on a locals discount to the special because we were near the area. That was really great! Very friendly staff!
We had very attentive masseuses who asked us are pressure preference and areas that needed more attention. They were very friendly, clean and did a fantastic massage!
My only complaint was the music. it was a little fast paced at times and some I the songs had weird duck noises but other then that it was amazing experience and I would definitely go back! Even On a hot day!

Despite the mixed Unilocal reviews, one of my friends made appointment for our group on the spa train. I had the Golden Brook package which was a massage and wrap. I thought the massage was good but i felt cold. I didn’t speak up. It was raining that day. I think the temperature would have been ok on a summer day.
I lied to my attendant. I didn’t like the wrap one bit. It was my first and last wrap. Mud was applied and I was wrapped in a tarp. It was not aromatic at all. It was just cold. Also, I knew there wasn’t any shower but I really wished there was one. Very disappointing experience especially for the price.
I should have listened to my fellow Unilocalers.

I looked everywhere on Unilocal for a decent massage/spa place for my bf and I during our honeymooning weekend in Calistoga. What popped out at me was the spa train. A massage on a train? Come on! You have to do it, just to say you did it. I booked a massage for two and received a response back on the openings fairly quickly. The spa train was across the street from our hotel so we hopped right over. We entered through the front of the train (so cool) and checked in. In the next train car were 2 massage tables. We got right in and got on our massage tables and quickly got relaxed and pampered. BF enjoyed a hot stone massage (his first) and said he enjoyed it. I got a deep tissue which was great. A 50 min massage for 2 plus add ones came out to $ 190. Great experience, great service, super nice massage therapist and receptionist. Highly recommend!

For my sister’s bday, we decided to keep the tradition alive by treating her to an annual spa day in Napa. My other sister wanted to try out the Mais Oui Spa Train which sounded like a bad idea to begin with but what the heck, we went for it. They got the 50 minute scrub each while I opted for the ’round trip’ which consist of 50 Minute Signature Massage, 25 Minute Railway Body Scrub & 25 Minute Calistoga Depot Herbal Facial. Here’s my review on the whole treatment:
Massage — My masseuse used to work at a chiropractor office and was very professional and did an excellent job getting all the knots out of my shoulders and the whole massage was very comfortable. Most of the stars here are for the massage. I didn’t get her name but she is 61 years old, heavy built, and new to the spa.
Facial — The same lady was more experienced in the massage department I felt. The facial was lacking. She basically just rubbed my face with a towel and slapped on a mask then left me there for 20 minutes. I did fall asleep but I don’t think the facial was great. No steaming, plucking, or special treatment involved.
Scrub — The salts were very tiny and after wards, my skin did not feel silky smooth compared to other salt scrubs I had. I spoke to my sisters and they felt like it kinda sucked too.
I wish they had a shower at the train so we could wash off any salts leftover. Instead, we were given a warm towel at the end. Another thing to note, they charge a mandatory 20% tip on top of your service so you don’t get a choice. Not what I would call ethical but some restaurants do the same thing nowadays too.

Would love to give this experience 4 Stars but…
Got the 50 min. facial. Amazing! The therapist was great!
The actual train… a must do! It was a girls weekend and we absolutely enjoyed the experience. Clean, fresh and relaxing environment!
Unfortunately, I was all relaxed and chilled out and the manager/receptionist is a dip. She is socially inappropriate and witnessed her being edgy, if not, rude to potential customers. My payment experience was less than relaxing. Lost my chi by the time I was all payed up.
She claimed that her rudeness was her thinking outloud. She appologized. Yet, this happened 3 times in the 10 minutes of me wrapping up payment. She needs to work on her people skills and leave the lame excuses out.
The website and sign out front claims they do limited walk-ins. Although, she turned away over 10 customers away. (rudely may I add) Claiming she had to «call off her girls.»
The ladies that delivered the messages… great!

Massage on a train, this is a first. =)
Came here with a group of girls for my girlfriend’s bachelorette party. We had a little bit of wine, good food and we were ready to end the day with a nice massage.
The staff greeted our group of 5 girls and we were split into 3 groups. The spa train has 3 cabins and each could accommodate 2 guests. The massage was $ 100 for 100 minutes, which is quite reasonable. It featured a 50 Minute Signature Massage with a 25 Minute Body Scrub and a 25 Minute Herbal Facial. My therapist was great and I ended up falling asleep within the first 10 minutes of my massage. She applied the right amount of pressure, the soft music was playing in the background, the scent in the room was light and aromatic, I was totally relaxed. I felt extremely pampered.
