I thought I had a review. But here we go. It’s summer and my family is all about ice cream. This is the place. Fresh and delicious. They can handle a crowd. Great to take a walk over with the kids and get some cones. Lots of flavors. They just got chocolate bacon whiskey gelato. Yum. That’s worth coming to. All hail Gelotti!!!

Go somewhere else for ice cream even if it means you have to drive really far out of the way! Place went totally down hill after it changed ownership. They have a girl working there that is miserable… she chases people away. Definitely chased us a way! I done with that place!

Just got a medium cone that was actually the size of a small juniors cone by an employee wearing a sweatshirt that said«bored». But other than that, it has good ice cream and our favorite for soft serve.

Very good homemade ice cream! They have a huge variety and everything tastes good. This is our number 1 ice cream shop in the area!

Since the new owner this place has gotten so much more expensive for inconsistent quality! They once had such great gelato but now the consistency and textures are off(too hard, too soft) and the flavor options are so wired and seem to be targeting teenagers. They are frequently short staffed and it just doesn’t ave the welcoming family friendly atmosphere anymore. Bring back the old owner please!!!

They have a really good selection from gelato to ice cream to ices. They also have good fall seasonals. I wish the seating was a little nicer but they work the lines fast and its affordable.

Nice vintage frozen treats parlor. Provides you with the initial sense of the way it was in early 1900’s. Everybody was nice mindful. The women behind the counter very friendly.

Amazing ice cream & friendly staff! I’ll stop by at least once a week and even wait in the long lines during the summer just for their ice cream. You go in there enough and the staff will recognize you & your order. Definite recommend!

There are a lot of ice cream shops in the area. I’ve tried them all and I can say that Gelotti is the BEST! Great selection of ice cream and it’s so creamy, rich, and delicious. I like that you can sit outside as well when the weather is nice. This will always be our, «go to» ice cream shop.

The service was friendly and the ice cream is delicious. Between my spouse and I, we tried three flavors: oreo cookie, bacio(hazelnut and chocolate), and blueberry basil. They were all tasty and the serving size was reasonable. It’s not curly crème, but it’s good!

I’m updating my review because Gelotti either changed owners or changed the way they make their ice cream /Gelotti. I used to love everything there but now a lot has changed. Although it aesthetically looks nicer, the ice cream really is not that great anymore. The cannoli gelotti is less creamy and more icey and it also has a lemon taste to it which I do not like. The rest of the gelotti also seems more icey than creamy. The ice cream would taste better if you were just eating it straight out of a food store brand carton.

I grew up going to the totowa gelottis and was expecting the same type of place. The workers did not move the line as quickly and one girl was cleaning the ice cream area at 10 when they closed at 11 and kept telling those helping the customers not to mess what she just cleaned — this surprised those waiting in line and even prompted a customer to ask what time they closed. Also the lack of all the flavors a was disappointing. My dad loves rum raisin and they said they don’t make it this time of year — what?! They do have an email list for coupons but I am not sure that I will be back. Maybe for the occasional cherry ice but nothing else. From now on I will take the longer trip to totowa to get my ice cream.

The ice cream is so good! It’s homemade and they always have seasonal flavors like pumpkin pie(yumm). The chocolate fudge crunch is delicious. I also recommend M&M and peppermint patty. They also have gelato and italian ice which are also very good. The staff is friendly(improved from the summer months) and the owners are great people. There is seating inside and benches outside. They are open all year round(hours depend on season). The menu clearly states everything they offer with prices. The prices are pretty high but it’s worth it if you want good, homemade ice cream.

I LOVE Gelotti’s! They are so nice and friendly. They have a very big selection of ice cream, as well as Italian ices and gelato flavors. My favorite is the Cookie Monster ice cream — a combo of cookie dough and cookies and cream. Yum!

Spectacular ice cream with creative flavors to suit a variety of preferences. I had cherry vanilla, one of my favorites, which had ginormous chunks of cherries. Also had a scoop of banana Oreo, also bomb. My boyfriend had cookie dough and Cookie Monster– an initially frightening bright blue color, but was actually freakin amazing. Cookie dough and Oreo pieces inside. This place also has gelato and ices so there is definitely a flavor for every liking.

Not sure when this place got so expensive. Back in 2008 – 2009 you could get a medium ice cream here for $ 2.50−3.00, now it’s almost 5. I doubt rent went up that much

This place has been my go-to for gelato, especially their gelato cakes for events. However, in the past three weeks, their quality has been absolutely terrible. We’ve purchased two gelato cakes, and various containers of gelato, yet all have been abysmal. The cake seemed as if it was melted ice cream that was refrozen, and the gelato in containers would literally crumble as it was served. Prior to this month, I would have given this place 5 stars, because we’ve done so much business with them, and they were consistently excellent every time. Unfortunately, I don’t know what happened, but something is terribly wrong at Gelotti lately. I hope to report back and say that everything has been resolved soon, because I miss the insanely delicious stuff they used to serve! Come on guys! Edit: Apparently the owners made some serious changes, and my dependable source of gelato is now back in peak form. They introduced a few new offerings, and the quality if top notch again. Very pleased.

Hands down the BEST gelato and ice cream around. I’m a huge ice cream fan and compare any place I go to Gelotti– and nothing comes close. Highly suggest the Bacio, Nocciola, and Nutella for gelato. The Mint Oreo, Banana Oreo, S’mores, and Cookie Monster are the best ice creams. They also have amazing seasonal flavors, such as Pumpkin Pie. You can also customize amazing ice cream cakes– my family’s favorite is the Bacio/Nocciola gelato cake. They are never skimpy here and the staff is always helpful and friendly.

Very friendly staff. Decent portion sizes for the price point. A fine selection of flavors of ice cream, gelato, sherbet, and soft serve, with low fat, non fat and no sugar added options taboot. Most importantly, the product is very good. Today I tried both red velvet and Nutella gelato. The Nutella is outrageously good, while the red velvet was more of a simple(but good) vanilla gelato, with a generous mix in of fresh red velvet cake. On subsequent visits, I’ve tried other flavors, most of which are very good, though none of which are in the conversation of best ever version. The coffee ice cream is a fine, satisfying rendition as is the chocolate. The pistachio gelato was not on par with that served up at nearby Calandras village. That being said, they are doing a much better job than Applegate Farms or Super Scoops, and needless to say a way better job than the mass produced belch of Let’s Yo, Twisty, Red Mango, etc. There are more familiar flavors for adults, and fun flavors with fun names for kids, such as purple cow, and cherry bomb. This is just a local shop with a quality small batch product that’s sure to satisfy in a friendly environment.
