History

Established in 1994.

We started our company in 1994, clients seemed to always state that I was the best kept secret in the Los Angeles Area. As the years have gone by, the vast majority of my clients kept telling me that I always had their best interest in mind with rates and taking care of their interest. In lieu of all these remarks We named our company «Your Best Interest In Mind, Inc». I always strive for and deliver the best and I am told by my clients they are glad that we (Risa and Dan) have handled their mortgage transaction. Every client gets personal attention throughout the transaction and on going communication as questions come up throughout the life of the loan. Many clients usually check in yearly for their mortgage check up for any benefits to refinance their current loan.

Risa is my partner in business has been in the mortgage business for many years. Her expertise is working with clients to structure loans so that the loans can be processed, underwritten and approved in a timely manner. Risa’s communication with clients is excellent.

We aim to get responses within 24 hours but with very low interest rates some of our response times have ran as long as 4 days which is very rare.

We had a tight escrow window with a pre-​planned vacation in the middle and Dan & Risa made sure everything went smoothly. I recently just refinanced my home with Dan and Risa, and it was just as easy as it was when I bought my home with them! Dan and Risa at Your Best Interest in Mind made it incredibly simple. The financing process and flow was very understandable and they answered all of my questions along the way. They honestly are on your team when it comes to financing for a home and was astonished at how efficient, smart, conscientious, friendly, productive and dedicated they were to my needs! I’m not sure what to review first… the mortgage refi experience or the cheesecake. I should be serious and review the most important one… the cheesecake… One of the best experiences I’ve had with a cheesecake chef… and I cater for a living…
I needed to refi and after lots of different recommendations, I decided check out Unilocal for a mortgage broker…
This was my 3rd experience with getting a mortgage/​refi but my first with Dan. Dan, Risa and his team know what they’re doing and do it quickly, efficiently and seemingly effortlessly. Typically your real estate agent will hook you up with a mortgage broker that they’ve worked with in the past, but that doesn’t always work in your best interest… if you’re going to be financing hundreds of thousands of dollars, shouldn’t you spend some time researching your best option… I can save you that research time. Give Dan a call, he goes above and beyond the others… and he makes a damn good cheesecake too.

I am a real estate agent who works on the Westside and recently did my first deal with Dan. Dan was recommened to my buyer through their CPA. The sale was almost a year long short sale, and at times it was a very challenging deal. I was super impressed with both Dan and his wife Risa’s followup, they would check in every month or two just to see how things are going. My buyer was a first time buyer and so they can be nervious because everything is new– my client had a lot of questions about the loan process and Dan was always very patient and knowledgeable at answer questions. I learned a few things too!
What I also really appreiciated about Dan’s service was his responsiveness. Anytime that I needed an updated preapproval letter or anything else, Dan was right there on the spot. To highlight our experience working with Dan Buben and Priority Financial Network:
Excellent Communication: Dan kept both the buyer and our office (the buyer’s agent and myself, the TC) updated throughout the process which allowed us to keep the listing agent and sellers aware of the timeline to close proactively.
Knowledgeable: As in most cases, the buyer wanted the best interest rate possible. Dan was able to refinance his primary residence to free up additional money to put down towards the purchase; therefore, enabling the buyer to get an interest rate that was even below the prevailing rate :)
Dedicated: During the transaction and the buyer’s due diligence period, we became aware that a 1600 sq ft structure on the property was not permitted — which usually means big red flag; Dan was able to work it all out and enable the buyer to continue to move forward with obtaining the financing needed to purchase the property.
Overall we are very much appreciative of Dan’s follow up, excellent communication and dedicated, superior customer service to our clients. It’s a very competitive business and since purchasing a property can be one of the largest investments someone can make, it helps to have a loan officer who can provide dependable financing; stick to contractual deadlines; and explain all options to a buyer so they are confident and comfortable with their financing choices. I am an escrow officer on a transaction recently handled by Priority Financial and must say we see a lot of lenders in this business. Hat goes off to Dan Buben for an excellent service he provided. Not only was he on time with delivery of loan docs but he personally showed up to the loan signing to make sure his clients were comfortable with everything. Dan is a GREAT loan broker. This is my 5th loan with him and he is very fast and knowledgeable. I have worked with other loan officers in the last 10yrs and he is the best one by far.

Dan is a Mortgage Broker who truly has «Your Best Interest in Mind.» We have done two loans with him on the same property. One for the initial purchase and a refi. He goes to battle for you and you can rest assured he is always working for you.
As another reviewer said, he always answers his phone regardless of time of day or day of the week. There are no «dumb questions» for Dan. As a first time home buyer, I did not know a whole lot about the process, and made sure I understood everything I was signing. He will answer all your questions to the best of his knowledge and if he doesn’t know something, will find out the CORRECT answer, not make something up.
