Montessori of Calabasas, Too

I toured this facility and I went into it so excited and set on Montessori too in Calabasas. When I was on the tour I witnessed a teacher being very aggressive and angry with a small 3 year old boy. She picked him up aggressively by one arm as he was crying. I continued the tour and came back around to look in on the classroom again and the same teacher was getting angry at the other kids and aggressively ripping toys out of their hands.
I didn’t finish the tour, I left feeling sick. I emailed the school director to explain what I saw and never heard back from anyone.

UPDATE! 6 months have passed and I just received a response from the director.
My response to the director: instead of defending your staff and saying how many happy families you have, perhaps you should reach out to me and ask me to give you more information about the specific teacher I witnessed mistreating children.
I didn’t say your school was bad, I said I witnessed 1 teacher being very rough. I also said I contacted the school and no on responded, I saved the email I sent on November 17 and I am happy to resend it. Note that it also took 6 months for a response on Unilocal as well.
To all the parents reading this, if you have a child attending and would like to know which teacher I witnessed mistreating the very young children please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I toured the facility this morning and I really thought it was great. The Director Donna was very sweet, as was Miss Violeta who started the tour for me. They were both very patient with all my questions. I thought the facility would be a great start for my 6-​month old as it is a small, cozy, intimate type location. They have a couple of small, yet very nice playards for the children, a garden, small animals (bunnies, turtle, etc). Very cute and the teachers all seemed very nice. It turned out that they didn’t quite have room for us for our start date, but I did want to review the facility based on my first impression of the tour.

Our daughter began attending Montessori of Calabasas Too when she was 4 months old. She is now 18 months. We have had GREAT experience both with the infant class and the toddler class. Her teachers have been amazing. And as other reviews have stated, Donna, the director is wonderful. The environment is stimulating, nurturing and has had a very positive impact on our child. We noticed a very different demeanor in her the first week she attended. We are very grateful for the love and care she gets while at school. The thought of leaving her in another’s care was very difficult at first, but we quickly became not only at ease, but grateful for the experience she was getting in her class. The activities that the children participate in are so lovely, especially the seasonal programs. We also love the consideration they give to the parents. We have nothing but great things to say bout the people of this school and highly recommend. Thank you to all the wonderful people at Montessori of Calabasas Too!

Our infant daughter goes to Montesorri, Too and has since she was 3 months old. We have loved every minute of our experience. The teachers are all wonderful and have such a caring attitude for the children. I highly recommend the school to others!

My son has been attending Montessori of Calabasas, Too for about six months now. He is in the 2 year old program and absolutely loves it. Since attending the school he has improved on both his speaking ability and overall comprehension. When I pick him up after school he does not want to leave and is eager to show me all of the new projects he is working on. I sometimes feel so embarrassed… he likes school better than home!
Matching the experience for my son is the overall cleanliness of the facility and professional behavior of the staff. The director, Donna, does a wonderful job organizing the weekly routines for the children, as well as bringing in extra-​curricular activities like musicians, storytellers, characters, and a variety of other shows.
I would say the biggest plus for me is that I do not feel like this is just a daycare facility for my son, it is like a second home. My son is given individual attention according to his needs and I am always kept informed. He is spending up to 10 hours a day there at times and I feel very comfortable and confident that he is not only happy, but learning and laughing too.

My son has been in montessori of calabasas, too for one month now. It has been a great experience — the new facility, caring staff, and lovely donna (director). My son quickly learnt how to walk, and his social skill improves dramatically. Before we enrolled him, he cried when he saw a stranger. After attending the school, he smiles to other people, and he is interested to try many new toys and other adventures. I great appreciate the teachers there and feel lucky that we find this place.

My child is in attendance at the new school Montessori of Calabasas, too. He just LOVES it, the staff and amazing and attentive to all his needs and he cannot wait to get there in the mornings. He’s extrememly well cared for and I would recommend it to anyone. Classes are staring to get full, but I believe there’s still a little room, so act fast and register your child now!

my daughter has attended the new annex of this school– montessori of calabasas, too.
we have had a WONDERFUL experience with the new annex and the lovely staff there– miss donna (director), miss shayna and miss violetta. they engaged her and loved her as though she was a part of their family. i felt really good about having her attend school there and felt she was very safe and well-​cared for.
this is a new annex that has opened so they are still filling up with children. i highly recommend getting your child in here before they are full!
