Kids Club Program

My daughter has been going to Kids Club/​Homework Zone since August of last year. We are very, very happy with the result!
Think about it… picking up your child at 4pm, KNOWING her homework has been completed by a counselor. There is no better feeling! Sure, I then check over the homework for its completeness at the end of the week, but I know that I don’t have to fight with her to complete it during the madness of picking up her sister from child care and then trying to get dinner and chores done in the evening.
Since taking her to Kids Club, she has made new friends at other schools, of other ages, and other backgrounds. I’m so proud of everything she has accomplished, with the help of the counselors and director, Tony Roberts.
The camps are equally entertaining, and seem to be very child led, which I LOVE. They have a set plan for each of the days, mainly based on what the kids themselves want to do.
Also, Emma, has started a new art class on Thursdays, so my daughter specifically asks me NOT to pick her up on Thursday afternoon until after 5. She WANTS to stay!

Kids Club is a joke! I decided to give them a chance and placed my son there for the summer.
Programs and activities are substandard at best. field trips are ridiculous and no enrichment whatsoever! They did go to the California science center and Hurricane Harbor but the rest of the trips were lousy.
They offer «lunch» and the kids are eating the same food every day and non of it is healthy. And my son (who is not a big eater) was always hungry because «they gave me a tiny piece of pizza»
The CITs are immature and unfortunately they are mostly alone with the kids since Tony (the owner) is rarely there in the afternoons and he leaves the kids with immature kids to watch over them.
The place is loud, there’s chaos, kids fighting and they let kids spend hours with their electronics because it’s easier than creating any programs that requires them to occupy the kids.
The facility is old, toys are old and there’s very few toys that kids like, there’s a tiny TV that is at least 10 years old and the kids watch the same movie over and over again. The computer (and there are one or two computers at the most) is broken and old. It seems that the owner invest nothing in the facility.
No wifi either.
I’m not sure it’s worth the $ 45-​$ 52 a day! I recommend you to take your kids elsewhere, where the kids actually get something beyond babysitting that is actually dangerous for them.
Thumbs down. My son hated this place and I’ll NEVER take him there again!

I’m not too sure which camp the reviewers below are speaking of. It seems that one bad comment below made the owner ask his buddies to review. This camp was not what it was chalked up to be. Lots of money for not so much of what was promised. Both my kids attended this summer camp and my 11 year old was bored out of her mind as most kids were under 7 years old. My 8 year old said he didn’t care for the camp also! The entire morning was just what the one truthful reviewer said below… it’s just daycare. The problem is, is that I paid for summer camp… not day care. The activities and «fun» didn’t begin until after lunch… which was always the same two options. And by «fun»…I mean a trip to the Calabasas swim club for a few hours.
If you are looking for a day care then, by all means, sign right up. If you are looking for a camp then I’d suggest going elsewhere.

My kids have been going to Kid’s Club for a number of years and really love it. I especially have appreciated the counselors’ help with homework and making sure my children get their work done after school before play time. The field trips my boys have attended were fun and inexpensive. I know that my kids are safe and well cared for while they are at Kids Club and are looking forward to many more years of attendance.

I have had 3 children go to Kids Club on and off for over 9 years. We started in Summer of 2004 when they were on Valmar in Calabasas and when they moved over to the new facility on Ventura we were quite pleased. The kids have all had wonderful experiences there and so have I. I always had the sense that my kids were being well taken care of and also well-​fed. Our food choices ranged from pizza, hot dogs, peanut butter and jelly, turkey sandwiches, etc. My kids are not picky eaters and they like the above. I would sometimes give them extra money for the pool to get food there. It really is your choice. You can send your kid to camp and pack lunch for them. The field trips were to really cool places that in some cases were the first trips for my little ones. They had a blast and still remember those trips to this day. They loved the choices of being in control and enjoyed the theme weeks. What kid does not like S’mores even when they have to use chocolate syrup to be careful and not have an open flame to roast them over. The program overall is quite flexible for the child and parent. It let’s the kids have a little bit of «say so» over there planning of their day and it helps the parent with choices and their pricing is very reasonable and flexible. We researched a lot of after school services and Summer camps and we chose Kids Club for a reason. It was the owner’s community involvement, interaction and patience with the kids and willingness to be flexible and work with the parents. If my children needed to go to camp I would certainly send them back to Kids Club.

I owe a majority of my most memorable childhood experiences and life long friends to this program. I started attending Kids Club when I was in Kindergarten and stayed all the way through 6^th grade. My first job was at kids club when I was 16 and now at 24 years old I am wishing that there was a way to still be involved with the amazing program.
The owner, Tony Roberts, is constantly working to make the space even more supportive, safe, creative and fun for kids. The kids club totally shaped my life and I am so grateful that I got to be a part of it! I cant wait to see what Tony continues to create for the community.

I have known the Founder, Tony Roberts, for over 20 years and think the world of him. I spent some of the most memorable and joyous days of my childhood at Kids Club and know that whoever is looking for a safe, fun and enriching experience for their kids have found one of the best places to provide that. Kids Club has decades of experience and is run by an incredible team! I will forever be grateful for my experience at Kids Club Adventure Day Camp!

I recommend this program all the way! The owner, staff, counselors and the fun programs scheduled each week are worth the price, which is VERY economical as far as camps in the area go. The facility and the day trips were fun, organized and kept the kids busy and happy. Kids wanted to go back even on the days they were not scheduled. Adding more days was not too expensive and easy to manage with the owner who has been involved in the community for over 25 years, which I liked, and seriously knows all the fun spots to take kids.
I checked out many camps some with my kids and some alone, this was my best choice in LA valley area. I say go see for yourself… AND i hear they are launching a party business as well. There are so many choices I just want my kids to leave and come home happy and not bored. I have been using them on and off for years and my kids are still huge fans!
