Dr. Molnar is the best vet we’ve ever seen and we’ve been through a lot of vets. He’s extremely kind and cares about each and every animal he sees. He’s treated our peahen (female peacock) multiple times and our cats as well. Each time the service is excellent and his staff is super friendly as well. It’s amazing to find a vet clinic that has a doctor who can treat exotic animals and common household pets! Seriously they are the best, I definitely recommend them to everyone.

What a fantastic vet! We had to take our guinea pig there. She’s an old lady and is starting to have some issues, including a nasty, swollen paw. Dr Molnar and his staff were wonderful, kind, compassionate and realistic, when we discussed palliative care vs the trauma of surgery on a 7 year old guinea pig. I’m not sure how much longer Sydney will stay with us in this lifetime but it’s great to know we have caring support from Dr Molnar and Team. They clearly care about the animals and I would highly recommend them.

I am very happy with this place! I took my ferret to conejo valley and I got the run around on doing a ton of expensive tests to have him treated. After the tests I was told he basically had insulinoma. So I decided to get a second opinion and come to this place! The doctor was very friendly and knowledgable. He ran his glucose levels and was very sure it was adrenal gland disease and to try an implant which would save hundreds of dollars on testing. We did the implant and now my ferret is back to normal!

Two days ago I had my first appointment with Dr. Molnar for my Cockatiel. While I can’t just yet say if her problem is fixed just yet (will update), I will say that Dr. Molnar is by far the best veterinarian I have had the pleasure of doing business with. I was a bit late to my appointment, but Dr. Molnar did not rush through the appointment as most would. He took his time to look at my bird, and explained everything he was doing, what he was looking for, etc. I learned a lot about what the optimal diet for my bird would be like. I had a lot of questions and he gave me very informative, educated answers. This guy is the real deal — I’ve been to about three other vets who call themselves avian specialists but they don’t compare to Dr. Molnar. The pricing is a tiny bit higher than other places, but worth every penny. Definitely coming back with my other pets!

Dr. Molnar and staff are the best! they treated my chinchilla Yamz like their own. I can’t thank them enough for their help with my little buddy. He broke his arm and when I took him into a local vet, they said nothing could be done. Luckily for me and Yamz they gave me Dr. Molnar’s number. He was able to see Dr. Molnar. that same day. He put on a splint and cast. 6 weeks later and he’s doing great!

Dr. Molnar has been our family vet since we met him at capri pet plaza in 2003. Not knowing where to really start with our pet care, we initially selected HIM (not the office — it was hard to get an appt. and wait-​times were often long — front office didn’t seem run very well) based upon his excellent reputation in avian medicine, which has proven to be accurate. When he left capri, we left too. Though I am sure there are competent DVM’s at previous offices, Dr. Molnar’s expertise, manner and straight talk about our pets’ care keeps us with him. He’s no B.S., which is why he’s our rock-​star vet! Fortunately, we don’t have to see him too often, but when we’ve needed him…
It’s usually easy to get an appointment at All Animals Veterinary Hospital and it’s nice to be attended to by the doctor, not just a vet tech. Molnar always makes us aware of ALL options for care and defers the costs to his staff for the most accurate estimate (so we don’t suffer any sticker shock.)
I have to say that this hospital, under the responsibility of the previous owner, was a bit lacking. She, too, was a competent DVM, but the business didn’t run as smoothly as it does these days– so there was def. a rough patch. But now, even with Dr. Molnar being a «one man show,» we are confident in him and his staff and feel we are always in good hands. And the occasions with which we have had to leave our pet for a sleepover (overnight hospitalization/​monitoring), we felt comfortable doing so.
Molnar personally takes an interest in your pet, which is what you want with a medical professional.
The only sore point, if there must be one, and as others have mentioned — is that costs seem a little higher than other offices. Admittedly, I do take my pets for routine vaccinations to low cost clinics. The low cost place is closer to our home and a bit less (with many pets, annual shots can add up quickly!) While I can’t find in my files a comparison of the shots’ costs, an examples office visits is as follow:
* low cost vet $ 10 (diagnosis and minor issues only — limited care follow-​through capabilities)
* «other» vet $ 50
* (another) «other» vet $ 52
* All Animals $ 58
In lieu of the care received when needed and no push for unnecessary treatments, I’d say it’s worth a couple bucks more. Also, All Animals Veterinary Hospital accepts CareCredit, a resource for paying vet (and medical, actually) bills, which can defer your payments up to 18 months. This is a huge helper if you have an expensive bill and less cash on hand.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND for ALL ANIMALS, particularly birds and exotics.

After 9 years, 3 dogs and changes in ownership — they closed in the middle of night this last year (for undisclosed reasons) and lost 8 years of my dogs’ complete health history files in the move. After multiple attempts to chase down the files especially because I wanted to get our newest addition to the family registered I had to have my youngest one re-​vaccinated again due to lack of proof. The change in vets was traumatic for our 8 year old. I find this unforgivable.

My green-​cheek Skeeter had a broken leg last January, so I looked on Unilocal to find a good exotic animal vet. I found All Animals Veterinary Hospital so decided to give it a try. I was impressed with the fact that Dr. Molnar and his staff can treat any animal that will (in their words) «fit right through that door», and that they were able to operate on such a tiny animal such as Skeeter who might have tiny little leg bones. After Skeeter’s surgery, I came back with Skeeter for constant follow-​ups to see how his leg was healing. It is now over 6 months later and I just want to let Dr. Molnar and his staff know that Skeeter’s leg is 100% back to normal and healed as if nothing happened! I now found a good vet for my exotics (Skeeter the green-​cheek conure and my chinchilla Mr. Deeds, who I’ll be taking for a checkup soon) and also an avian vet for my parents’ African Grey and Sun Conure. My cats already have a closeby vet who I am loyal to (deals only with dogs and cats), but should anything happen to his practice or if I move closer to Calabasas, I will be switching my cats to Dr. Molnar. But in the very least, Dr. Molnar will have mine and my parents’ exotic vet business.
I have dealt with many vets in my lifetime including exotic vets since I have owned a variety of animals over the years, and Dr. Molnar is one of the best I have dealt with. His vet assistant Jen was also very helpful to us! Thank you Dr. Molnar!

I can’t say enough about how excellent Dr Molnar is, both professional and caring. I brought him a very weak, egg-​bound yellow nape. His knowledge and expertise saved her life. She is home today eating and talking again. Lolita says «THANK YOU DR MOLNAR» and AWSOME staff!

We love Dr Molnar !! He has been seeing our parrots for years! Dr Molnar has such a passion for birds and it really shows. We also bring our dog to him. His staff is really great. Him or one of his staff will always call you right back if you have a question and they are so good about fitting you in.

Dr. Molnar is a «Rock Star Vet» as far as my family is concerned. He saved Bud’s leg, his motor function and his life… Dr. Molnar is hand’s down the ONLY veterinarian we would ever take Bud, my Mom’s Yellow Napped Amazon Parrot too… And here’s why:
On December 24, 2001 Bud didn’t want to get into his cage and tried to fly away. Instead, he flew into a curio cabinet. We heard a «snap» and there was a terrible screech! Bud had broken his leg. — I felt terrible, because I had gotten him out of his cage…
We took Bud to a local veterinarian in Santa Ynez, CA. The vet DID NOT KNOW how to treat birds. — We had no idea at the time and he almost maimed and killed Bud!
After 2 days the «vet» said Bud was still alive (to this day I think he waited on the surgery thinking Bud would die!) and that another veterinarian had preformed surgery. After we picked Bud up we saw that he had two bolts and a «splint» in his leg. We could also see that Bud was in pain, but we thought it would subside. The pain never subsided. — Bud would hold his little leg up, rather than grip his perch, and his broken leg would shake all day long… This went on for days, weeks then months…
Our «vet» kept saying things were fine. A x-​ray would eventually be taken. Everything was «okay», or so, our «vet» said. Nothing else was to be done and it would just take time.
About two months later, my Mom called me to say that she’d taken Bud to a second vet. She also said she had gone back to the original vet’s clinic to pick up Bud’s x-​rays. She had waited over 2 hours while the vet techs «looked» for Bud’s x-​rays… The x-​rays were finally «found». — I think they finally realized that she would not leave until they had gone through every file.
My Mom then drove another hour North for the second vet to look at them. The x-​rays CLEARLY showed that Bud’s bones were not even connected! The splint wasn’t holding the bone together to heal at all. Bud had been in agony for months and the original «vet: knew there was NO way the bones in his leg were mending… Terrible Terrible Vet!
The second vet felt there was little to no hope. He thought Bud would lose his leg or die during a second operation. My Mom was devastated.
I called the Santa Barbara Zoo and asked who took care of their birds. They happily referred us to Dr. Molnar and we will forever be grateful for this recommendation.
We took Bud down and after Dr. Molnar took a look at him he said Bud needed to go on a diet before any surgery could be done… We were not happy, but hearing that the surgery could kill him we left Bud there and after less than a month the surgery was done, Bud started physical therapy and then eventually came home… Dr. Molnar saved Bud’s leg, returned most of his motor function and 13 years later Bud is still doing well and while he has a bit of a limp he can move his leg and «chases» anyone he wants while laughing the entire time.
If we had not found Dr. Molnar, there is little doubt that Bud would have had to have been put down so he didn’t have to suffer. Luckily, we found Dr. Molnar and Bud is just fine.

First of all, I want to thank the kind receptionist who picked up the phone. When she told me the price for a simple examination for a parakeet ($ 98) I thought she was out of her mind. After hearing my shock, she explained gently on why he was worth it, and I’m so glad I listened to her. Since I do not know anything about birds Dr. Molnar gave me exact information on what I needed. How to tame, feed, what foods to give, and recommended some items for better bonding time with my parakeet. I had skeptical feelings when I thought he was ‘forcing’ my parakeet to perch on his finger but realized it’s a way to gain the parakeet’s trust. I cannot stress enough on how thankful I am. Yes, the entire bill turned out incredibly expensive (plus a long drive) but it was worth it. Thank you, doctor.
Everyone I met was friendly and there is this positive atmosphere throughout the place.
As a side note I, personally, found Dr. Molnar looking kind of scary at first. He has this stern face that just makes someone like me freak out and think ‘oh man’ but he’s incredibly nice. I hear so many people complain about vets forcing (as in «You have to have this treatment») owners to buy products but he simply tells you it might be better to or just recommends it. There is no pressure from him and it’s great. Or maybe that might be dangerous (ha ha ha).
Great experience, wonderful place, clean, friendly workers, and it was fun watching my parakeet squack at the doctor for his shot.

Fantastic experience. Dr. Molnar may indeed be the «bird whisperer.» Our Eclectus loves him!
We have boarded him and gone for treatment there as well. He is competent, knowledgeable and full of helpful information. His staff is wonderful and helpful too.
We moved from another state and were panicked about finding a superior avian specialist. We are so happy we found this in Dr. Molnar. Fortunately we have never had a serious issue, but Dr. Molnar is where we would head if we did.
Our breeder always cautioned that you could tell a lot about the quality of an avian vet by the way he took blood from your bird. I immediately bonded with Dr. Molnar when he not only stayed in the exam room, but calmly put our parrot in his lap and drew blood from his jugular vein.

Dr. Molnar is a very skilled and knowledgable vet he is also the most compassionate vet I’ve met.
His prices are reasonable for the care and service that you receive.

I believe that Dr. Molnar is an excellent, truly gifted surgeon. The vet I go to these days even asked if my dog had been spayed because she has no scar. The guy’s got great hands, is very caring, and, heck, he’s downright charming.
I question other things, though, like his saying that my four-​month-​old puppy was badly bred because she kept removing the bandages from the splint for her broken toe. As it turned out, that same metal splint was eating into her bone… and ultimately did some permanent damage to her front paw and leg. At one point, there was a serious concern that she might even lose her leg because of the damage, which they kept trying to blame on me. (Deep sigh). Not to mention, I spent so very much money on that toe. It was easily in the thousands. And a good portion of the cost was as a direct result of less than stellar veterinary care. It’s my own impression, of course, but I don’t think that Dr. Molnar is especially comfortable with large, over-​exuberant dogs.
Then there was the suggestion that Dr. Molnar graciously made to me that I should have asked him before I got my dog because he could have gotten me a white Doberman. I understand the lure of the exotic, but even lay people like me that know a little about animals usually know that white Dobermans should never, ever be bred because of their overwhelming health problems.
Then there was the recommendation from Dr. Molnar that I take my puppy to the «world’s best trainer.» A little research taught me quickly that this world’s greatest (read: world’s most expensive) trainer had a super bad reputation, and that’s from people in the know all over Southern California. (But I’m sure Dr. Molnar didn’t know this at the time.)
That all said, my good friends took their Pomeranian to their regular vet to be neutered, and she pretty well botched the job. The poor little guy is still swollen and hurting 10 days later. I’m thinking of suggesting that they take their two female cats to Dr. Molnar because of the plastic-​surgery quality work that he does.
Any specific number of stars really isn’t fair, I don’t think, because I believe that it depends on what you need, but I think that if I had a pig, snake, bird, or goat, I’d give Dr. Molnar a try. Large, unruly puppy maybe not so much… Also, he’s got a different experience and perspective than other vets, and in some circumstances, you might find this valuable.

I have been a long time client of Dr. Molner. His clinic and staff are amazing and his knowledge and abilities are unmatched. I trust my dogs life with him!

Fantastic experience! The African Grey I was babysitting got bitten by the Amazon parrot and I know nothing about birds! The bird mommy sent me to All Animals and they put a couple of stitches in the bird’s foot, wrapped it up and sent us home the same day. Clearly competent and friendly, the doctor apparently spend more than an hour with the owner when she got her first bird. He was in a big hurry today, but I’d rather have the bird handled then some PR,
The receptionist was very helpful, the place looks great, just hope I never have to go back!

I always start my reviews of vets by saying cost is never a reason for a bad review. I was a vet tech for nearly 12 years so I know how much things cost. You get what you pay for.
I first heard about Dr. Molnar through an owner of a pig I met on Facebook. He said he has seen numerous vets with his pig and tat Dr. Molnar seemed the most knowledgable.
Six months ago I saw Dr. Molnar at another practice when my pig got stung by a bee. From the moment Dr. Molnar stepped into the room, I knew I had come to a great vet. Coming from working in the vet field, I’m not easy to please. You either know your stuff or you don’t. Dr. Molnar has me captivated. He was professional, calm and he has a way with the animals. He was able to get a good look at my pigs eye with hardly a squirm or a squeal from Kevin. He really seems to care about the client and the pet.
Well I got a second pig and Kevin was due for his annual vaccines so I brought Gwen in to the new hospital. Gwen is more shy than Kevin and only 15 pounds. Dr. Molnar got on the ground and conducted the entire exam on her level… on the ground. :)
I hope Dr. Molnar is around for a very long time because my pigs are gonna live 15+ years and I don’t want to take them anywhere else.

Dr. Molnar is a Saint in my book! We drove all the way from Solvang at the urging of Jamie McCleod, owner of the Bird Sanctuary and Menagerie in Summerland. My 15 year old green cheek conure had a seizure and her kidneys were suddenly failing. She needed to be ‘hospitalized’ with 24 hr care including incubating, gavage feeding, and fluids. They admitted her immediately with no appointment and gave us the best care I have Ever received from a doctor and staff, all the way to the receptionist! I know Calabasas area is expensive, but so is Santa Ynez Valley and I am here to tell you, the bill was Extremely reasonable considering the time and constant care involved in her stay. Everything he suggested, we did, because I knew from his demeanor and the way he handled my bird, he has a genuine love for his work and these animals. He did not steer us wrong, or try to find ways to get as much money from us as possible, quite the opposite. And he ended up saving her life.
For anyone out there with doubts, I would feel the same way even if she hadn’t pulled through. Birds are delicate, and there is no guarantee or way to save them all. But I have Total faith that this man gives it his all every time. And he is so intuitive and skilled, that if he couldn’t help her, nobody could. I also know people get upset about the cost of vet bills but its something as a pet owner you knowingly take responsibility for. Someday you May be faced with the tough choice of whether you can afford a costly procedure, or whether you will be forced to euthanize your pet to keep it from suffering. I Never walk into a place of business and expect them to give me a free car, meal, or medical care because I am down on my luck or hard pressed to pay. This is no different. Vets are expensive, but so is running a 24 – 7 staffed facility that’s in Calabasas. We felt it was worth Every Penny and I’d do it again. But thanks to Dr. Molnar and his team, we won’t have to:)
