We used Brookhaven for catering only so I cannot comment on any in-​store experience. Having said that, everything was seamless and they prepared the best lamb and tenderloin I’ve ever had. We would use them again and would emphatically recommend. Excellent!

Recently, I have been having an unpleasant experience with shopping at both locations of Brookhaven Marketplace. I usually buy bread from there. Today (Dec.23) I noticed that the bread that I bought on Sunday (Dec.20) has mold. The expiration date is Dec.25. So I suspect that the store is putting a new expiration date so it looks like the bread is fresh because there is no way for the bread to get so moldy in just 3 days. This has happened a few times and next time I will go to another store because I cannot be sure what I am buying from Brookhaven. Below you can see proof of it — 2 photos

This place sucks. Why are they in buisness. Don’t go here. They are money hungry. So I buy a can opener go back in and say I don’t need the can opener. It was no more than 30 seconds. They told me they need the receipt. R u kidding me? I told them resale the can opener. What a rip off

I am a fan of this grocery store! I live in the Burr Ridge Area and I am glad that this store is downtown (as the next closest store is a few miles away). They have a lot of variety and a large produce section along with anything else you would find at some of the big brand grocery stores. Me and my girlfriend went (on Donut Day) to try and find some donuts in the bakery section and they didn’t have any so that’s why I didn’t give it 5 stars: P Definitely recommended. Go check it out!

My husband and I had a bad first impression here. The produce was all over ripe, tomatoes, oranges, spinach, fresh basil etc. The meat is overpriced. And the two cashiers I encountered were very rude. As a cashier, you’re supposed to be friendly and helpful with a smile and they were nothing close to this. I’ll stick with usual fresh market I go to.

It’s a small grocery store with a little bit of everything. Stopped by here to get something to eat after going to the Loyola medical center down the street. The deli was well staffed, and had a verity of meat and cheese selections that I’ve never seen at the grocery stores closer to where I live which was surprising nice. While I was here I picked up few slices of lunch meat including some HOT pork shoulder which wasn’t too hot but still had a kick too it. Also picked up two slices of pizza which was pretty good for grocery store pizza and some bakery rolls for my lunch meat. After all said and done two slices of pizza, some drinks, rolls, and lunch meat was 12.00 pretty happy about this places prices.

Brookhaven is pretty awesome. I like this one better than the Darien location for one reason… It’s bigger and the layout flows a little better.
The produce they have is insane & their deli area is just as sick. They have many different sausages, cheeses & goodies for you to grab on the fly for a quick party fix.
Also, there are many «heat & eat» options to choose from. I grabbed a slice of their lasagna for a quick meal and must say it was pretty delish, The slice was gigantic and fed me for lunch at work for two days.. . probably could have made it last three but I overindulged (whoops!). Close to eight bucks and I had two meals. Not a bad deal at all!
Pizza set-​ups, pretty good meat department & all the bare necessities for a meal.
You need a bottle of wine, craft beer or whiskey? They have that too.
It’s clean, the employees are friendly & the location is convenient.

Great deli. They even freshly cook the precooked items there in house. Try the Greek chicken breasts. Perfect! Prices are great too with a large variety of flavors for all. Produce fresh and inexpensive. Unique products from around the world. Gluten free selection is vast.

Nice little store. I came here on the way to my brothers house. Produce prices were excellent. It is a niche market and does get pricey on a few items. They have 4 queues for checkout. Overall not bad

Great grocery store with a really nice fruit and vegetable section. Don’t forget the olive bar. They have a bakery and deli counter that has some really good treats so beware. It is located off County Line Road and is a perfect place to stop after working out at Lifetime Fitness.

I had an issue with one of the expiration dates on a product I had purchased. The manager of the store was a complete jerk. I have been shopping here for years at the Darien and Bur Ridge location. I have always been pleased. But the way this manager acted at the Bur Ridge location I will never be back.

This place is great. Ask for Fernando the store manager. He will show you the specials and give you additional tastings. The produce is very fresh and almost seems as if it was just cut from the back garden. George the wine geek is very knowledgable and offers honest opinions with price conscious appeal. I like Brookhaven better than Dominick’s or even Sam’s because of Fernando, George and the excellent staff.
Try the new Sushi bar. Sum can make custom rolls.

I really like the quality of the fruits and vegetables here. You’ll pay a little more than the big chains here (except for Whole Foods), but sale prices bring their items within the reach of most people. You’ll find a greater variety of European imports than most grocery stores around here, which is good if you’re shopping for a taste of home or trying to find a personal gift for someone.
I think Brookhaven has built a well-​deserved reputation for having excellent prepared foods. I’ve tried everything from their BBQ chicken wings to mashed potatoes, and it all has been top notch.
If you live within five miles of Brookhaven and haven’t checked it out yet, do yourself a favor and take a look.

Something has changed recently — personal opinion is that they have decided to go more «upscale» than they have been.
As other reviewers have said, they used to have an amazing selection in the deli, and it was priced on-​par with Amici’s or even WalMart, but on our last visit, many of the lunch meats we usually get weren’t in stock. After asking for 3 things we regularly get there, we asked the young man behind the counter why they no longer carried the items, and he said «we’re moving to healthier offerings». OK, so you have different sausages and meats, but have decided that Sara Lee Maple Honey Ham is not healthy? Plus, being foodies, the wife and I aren’t particuarly skinny, and it was just a bit offensive.
They have expanded the Boar’s Head selection, so if you are looking for Boar’s Head, it is the place to go.
I agree with the comments about produce, but they’ve changed the deli so much, it’s hard to give it more than 2 stars.

The BEST grocer you can go to. Produce is out of this world fresh, lunch meat counter is full of options, bakery looks (I fear falling in love at first taste) amazing, the prepared section has GREAT options and the olive bar is fresh. I mean damn good, love it fresh.
I live close to the other Brookhaven but go to this one often because it is less crowded, the store is bigger, better liquor selection and it is right across from the health club (which membership gets you 10% off veggies).

This is a great store to shop in a little small but packed with great hard to find items. Delicous sweets, homemade pizza, and homemade salad dressings, Staff is very helpful. I always stop there when I’m in town. Staff is so polite and helpful.
