This isn’t «fine dining,» but it is darned good local café food. I like this place – good specials, regular entrees(which are $ 10 up), salads, sandwiches, appetizers and desserts. Wines and beer, too. Not a huge selection, but okay. My dinner selection tonight won’t sound exciting, but I had a terrific charcoal grilled Nathan’s hot dog. The skin was tight and when pierced, nice and juicy. My husband’s open-faced roast beef sandwich was flavorful and tender. And the service? Attentive, friendly, and accurate. We had a good meal and a fun time. While I didn’t have one tonight, the steaks there are dee-lish!

Nice place with inside and outdoor seating. Full bar I had the Friday night special shrimp and grits with country ham drizzled with red eye gravy. Served with a salad and snap peas. My companion had the steak hogie with mushroom sauce and cheese. It was excellent can with french fries & cole slaw. The slaw was very tasty. Ended up ordering dessert also. It was a German chocolate gamache. It was also very good.

My experience as a first timer: got there, sat on the outside patio. Ordered an open faced roast beef. Tasted like from a can, and a can of mushroom soup. It was overly salty for me. They did forget my beer and didn’t refill my water. In the end, we decided to just finish hubby’s meatloaf sandwich and leave. They brought out tickets and it stated total 34++ so we handed the card. Then it came back to us and the card was charged 48++. They added someone else’s drinks on our check! CHECKYOURBILLANDRECEIPTS! We did get them to straighten it out. But it took them a while to process it. And I was just ready to leave. It looks nice, I’m pretty sure they have their loyal customer. But as for our first experience, I don’t think we will return.

Stopped by for the first time today for lunch. Great selection of food, drinks and dessert. Our server was very friendly and kept our drinks filled. I look forward to trying them again for breakfast and dinner.

Stopped in for Sunday lunch. Sat out in the patio. Great location, shaded over by the trees, very quiet side street. Daughter got a ham and cheese on a pretzel bun. It was good — I tried a bite. Wife and I both got salads, hers was the club, I did the fried chicken. Both very fresh, and potion size was good. Will definitely come back for dinner some night. Patio alone makes it worth while!

Very good and comfy feel when you walk in there. me and a friend of mine were there for a snack today I had their French onion soup which was served in a little crock and was pretty tasty. my friend had the chili which she enjoyed but the star was the wings. very good and reasonably priced. Will be back to try more items soon.

Today was my first time there, and my family’s second. We were not anticipating a 90 minute breakfast experience, especially since it was not super busy the majority of the time we were there. The breakfast quesadilla was so great, as was their goetta. The biscuits and gravy were good, but too peppery. The service was extremely slow, and I wasn’t offered refills, but the food was great!

We were there recently for an early dinner before going to a Christmas party. Trish was our waitress & was great. She was funny, conversational & very observant. If our glass was half empty, she was right on it. We split a fish sandwich & a salad. Both were excellent, but Trish made the experience.

Fish sandwich was too breaded, fries over salted. The outside seating area is nice, good environment, food not that up to par.

We visited on a week night and they weren’t super busy. We sat on the patio and unless you love loud vehicles I would suggest sitting inside. Our server was slow, absentminded, and had very little knowledge of the menu(or maybe she was pretending so I would stop asking questions). If this review was for food alone I would have given a 4. I had blackened fish which was the special and it was the best item at our table. Others had the Philly cheesesteak and the fried fish sandwich and reported they were good as well. I think we will try again and hope for better service but last time was enough to ruin the evening.

This is a great place with great outdoor seating when it is nice out. Also check out the nearby gun shop.

Delicious food. Great atmosphere. Went here for valentine’s day when the popular restaurant down the street was too busy, and everyone that came in knew each other. Literally everyone. The waitress was very kind, as were the other workers and especially the owner’s mother. She came over to us and made conversation like we were old friends. Everything was great. Very cozy and welcoming. The best desserts, also. We got caramel apple cheesecake and chocolate raspberry cake. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!

So… it’s a Monday afternoon about 1:45 and we decide to do in for a bite to eat. We sat down and it took about 5 minutes for the wait staff to get our drink order. I tried to order my lunch but she was already gone… mumbling something about being«busy». 15 minutes later(still no drinks) another 4 top comes in and sits down. The same wait staff goes over and gets their drink order AND lunch order. Really? Food… Don’t know Atmosphere? Kind of cool Service? Poor. Never again.

I really enjoy dropping into Washington Square on occasion. I have yet to have a bad meal any time of the day but tend to drop by for breakfast more often than anything. Their breakfast burrito or quesadilla are my favorites, try them with Goetta! There are many great sandwiches and the sides are always good and taste home made. I would also recommend the the fried fish sandwich, delicious. The restaurant is small so pick your timing carefully and be patient, sometimes service can be a bit slow but always friendly. If there is no parking on the street or beside the restaurant there is a public lot just across the street.

This is a very cute and quaint place in downtown Burlington. We went for breakfast and was not disappointed! The pancakes were light and fluffy and the goetta was just as good. After our meal, we took our coffee outside to the patio. The owner took the time to thank us for stopping by. We’ll definitely be back!

I really like this place. Not sure why we don’t venture out here more often. Food is always very good, service is great. We even bought our Thanksgiving meal here a few years ago. Would recommend to friends.

It’s safe to say that Carla and I have become regulars for breakfast at Washington Square. We’ve done lunch, and they have this Italian Sausage Sandwich that I adore, but breakfast is what I really love. My personal favorite for breakfast is their three-egg omelet. They list ham and bacon as the choices for the meat filling, but I always order their goetta. I’ve not asked and I don’t know for sure, but they may make it themselves(or they get it from a supplier other than the usual suspects). It’s good. A little looser than I’m used to, but it’s really got a nice flavor. I haven’t counted, but I think there are only maybe a half-dozen items on the breakfast menu. French Toast. Eggs with a meat and potatoes. The omelet. Oatmeal(nice and thick with brown sugar and cinnamon). It’s a small menu, but everything is done very, very well. Occasionally a potato breakfast casserole will show up as a side rather than the typical hashbrowns or American fries. That’s a very good thing. If you’re out in Burlington in the morning, this is a must.
