History
Established in 1989.
Performance Tire was established in the spring of 1989. At that time, the building housed a Firestone Tire Shop that operated five service bays. Most of the work consisted of tires, exhaust, alignments and undercar services. That may have been ok at the time, but we wanted Performance customers to have a one-stop shop for all their service needs. Carburetors were becoming obsolete. New technology with fuel injection and computerization were the future. This required a large commitment to equipment, training, and certified technicians.
Offering customers «Complete Car & Light Truck Service», and doing it right the first time, proved successful. In 1994, AAA of Wisconsin came to Performance Tire to be their recommendation for AAA Members in the Burlington area. In 1997, a building expansion and complete remodel took place. The size of the service department went from five service bays to ten. Warehouse space was added and the facility, inside and out, took on a new appearance.
