Kings Burlington

This place have the worst service ever. I sat at the bar and waited 10 minutes for a drink, I work in this industry and I bartend and waiting for a drink for 10 minutes in any country is crap … The so called bartenders look at me as if they never seen a dude like me in their lives, I know I’m easy on the eyes but damn. My homie told me the burger he ordered is no better than a bacon cheeseburger from Wendy’s.now back to the bartender, the next time I come into your place for a drink please do not harass me about a friggin stamp on my hand especially when I’m old enough to be your daddy. I’m giving kings 2 stars because of the sound system.

A few tips for bowlers:
1. Put in your name, go eat dinner somewhere else (they won’t have a place to eat) and then do 2 – 3 loads of laundry then come back– your lane might be ready.
We waited 4 hours… then gave up.
2. Assume if the wait is longer than 1 hour that you’ll never bowl. I am not sure if they have a policy on busy nights but after waiting 3 hours there were still 7 groups ahead of us.
3. Free valet — do it; so worth it. The best part of my night.
Tips for the owners:
1. Get rid of the buzzers — get cell numbers and page with updates.
2. Have a policy (if there isn’t one) that there is a 2 game max on busy nights.
3. Don’t have a drawer filled with ‘free game’ business cards to hand out when people get annoyed with waiting and decide to leave. It makes you look incompetent and shows that this happens often. Business cards are cheap and the ‘free bowling’ is only Mon-​Thus so it’s cost-​effective, but try fixing the issue instead of repeatedly apologizing for it.
4. Do you need 9 people ‘working’ behind the shoe/​cash register? The turnover for lanes is clearly minimal…

I really like this place!
The set-​up is good in that you can hang at the bar, sit at the tables and booths around the bar, bowl, or play darts and pool. Maybe it’s because you can do all of that and any combination while eating and drinking!
I’ve been here a few times now and one of my favorite things is the music they play while you bowl. It is the perfect mix of pop from the 90s and 00s and it always puts me in a happy mood! The staff is also always nice and the drinks are yummy. The food is generally good (it’s bar food) but last time we were there the pizza was pretty lackluster with poor presentation. Nachos were good though!
In general, if I need a fun place for a group that I know will keep different types of people happy, I always suggest Kings!

Enjoyed a pleasant night out with the family. Bowling was fun and service very good. Reason for 3 stars was the food. Had dinner and several meals were very poor. Grilled chicken in salad was like a hockey puck — criminal!

We’ve been here quite a few times. It has seemed pretty consistent with service, being about 3 stars. But we went there tonight and the service was bad enough for me to write a shit review. While we were bowling (which took 3 hours vs. the 1 ½ we were told.) we smelled what we thought smelt like good pizza. It was burned so our neighbor lane asked for another, at the exact time we ordered the same. Literally the same time. And they got there’s 10 minutes later and we waited for closer to an hour. We were done with 2 whole games. And so we asked it to go. Mind you my partner asked for water 3 times and never received it. The guy came with the pizza as we were leaving… NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN…

I went here on a Friday night from 10:30−1am and was surprised that it was packed. Anyways, I felt everything was pretty decently priced. Food was fine. I got a burger and my friend got a wrap. We played pool so I can’t speak on the bowling. But there are tables set up around the pool area so you can play and eat at your leisure. I had a lot of fun and the music was good. I would definitely go back.

We rented out the Kingpin Room for our annual company party and it was a huge success! The food was great and the service was top notch! We’ll absolutely be back!

We went with my husband on a Saturday night and it was crazy busy! The waiting list for the bowling was 3h and the pool was 1h, I think this is ridiculous! We got couple drinks at the bar! Apps big noooooo! Don’t even waste your money! After an hour they called us, we got the balls and we found «available» pool to play! It was so many people around the pool that you can’t even move what about play! Very unorganized!

Can we start with how this place is DEAD and has been for at least the last hour and a half, if not a majority of the night? I get it’s a Monday but come on guys. This place is great. Half price on bowling after 9 on Mondays, weekday specials, 32oz draft Yuengling is $ 9?! What’s not to love? Not giving it five stars because we’re literally bowling by ourselves right now and have been for a LONG time… the staff is cleaning things and looking bored. Start coming to Kings, Burlington! Jeez! Give this place some life! Otherwise, food was great, drink prices are great, I can’t complain. But more people gotta populate this place at night!
Also — kings staff, I know it’s probably out of your control but move the damn big screens in the bowling alley! I can’t concentrate! Our waitress told us how many people throw balls into the screens all the time… then move them?! It’ll benefit everyone?

First time here. We hosted my husbands birthday party. There was about 9 of us. Food was good & drinks were ok (watered down w ice). Bowling was fun, the lanes are all glowing. Our bowling balls got stuck quite a few times but we dealt with it. The lounge area is cute :).

Great place. Took my sales team there and we had a great time. We will definitely return.

The bowling experience couldn’t feel more fake and disco than when the black lights are on in the lanes. No pro shop, but such an abundance of party zones clearly bowling is the ex-​core business of Kings. So bowling, variety with alleys, movie theater, bars, and restaurant.

Seems like an Ok place to hang out: plenty of beers, nice atmosphere, and kind attentive staff. But it’s a terrible place to bowl. I left after two frames. Your shoes will not slide at all (the floor is so grabby I fell on my face on my first ball). Just to make sure you can’t slide, their rental shoes all have rubber heels. Also, they don’t have any balls over 14lbs … none. I guess if you bring your own shoes and ball (and plenty of tape for the bottoms of the shoes) it might be ok, but the bowling lanes seem to mainly be there for show (see giant Big Lebowski mural) and perceived kitsch value.
*UPDATE* Apparently, for reasons at which I can scarcely guess, the lanes are like this ON PURPOSE (Even basic bowling technique requires some amount of slide. See bowling «Fundamentals», from the USBC:

Like the rest of the staff, Don seems a nice-​enough guy. However, as a «non-​slip» approach surface does not correspond to my idea of «fun» with regard to bowling, I don’t plan to be in again. If it corresponds to yours (or if you just don’t bowl), you may feel differently.

Kings is my new go to for bowling! Ample parking. Delicious food. Kick a$$ drinks. Amazing service (add friendly to that!). And a fun atmosphere to boot!
Food:
I’ve yet to eat anything here that I didn’t enjoy. My first visit was for a Unilocal event so I was able to dabble in almost every area of the menu and I fell in love with the cannoli’s. During my second visit I learned those scrumptious little bad boys aren’t on the standard menu and are for catered events only. Insert super sad face. However, everything else was prepared well and super yum. We opted to have the appetizer sampler that gave me a taste of 2 items that weren’t served at the Unilocal event (or I may have missed them): Mac & Cheese poppers and buffalo wontons. M&C poppers are lightly breaded balls (for lack of a better term) of M&C that are lightly dusted with a sharp cheese (I think it was parmesan) and the wontons were great with the ranch-​ish (it had a little twist) dipping sauce.
Drinks:
The Red Zeplin is LIFE! Not too sweet or fruity and not overwhelmingly boozy. It’s a great cross breed drink that’s for guys and dolls.
Bowling:
One of my favorite things about their bowling is that they also sell socks. I don’t recall ever seeing that at any other bowling establishments. So, if you forget yours: no sweat just ask one of the friendly counter clerks, but it’ll run you $ 3. Ouch. The bowling and pricing, otherwise, is standard $ 4 for shoe rental and $ 8 to to bowl (per person).
I had a blast for a second time and will probably host an event here, as well, bcz it seems like the perfect venue.

I would say that Kings Bowl is more of a bar than a bowling alley. There aren’t a ton of lanes so it’s quite possible that you’ll have to wait. Luckily they have a huge bar! Stephen was our server/​bartender– he was awesome/​the most enthusiastic human I’ve ever met. The prices for bowling are reasonable and the bar prices are actually really great. The atmosphere is a bit more clubby/​dark so this is a great place for a date (if you’re into bowling).

I went to a Unilocal event here and had a really fun time. It was my first time at a King’s and I was impressed, especially with the bowling and the food.
The food and menu rocked! Really yummy offering.
The pool room was also fun. I found I was really good at the shuffleboard game!
I would definably return. I wish they had one closer to my home in Salem, NH.

I am a fan, as it happens. I can’t say that the food was outstanding, the service memorable, or atmosphere authentic but King’s was FUN! Between the solid finger food — the hummus board was actually very satisfying — and the pop culture throwbacks covering the walls and lanes, King’s Bowl is a great place to spend the night with some friends.

Small company outing here. Extensive menu, and great cocktail list. I am not a fried food person but lots of friend food/​greasy appetizers if you are looking for a fix. Half prized apps Mon-​Friday 3−6PM so that’s a plus. They have other healthier options as well. I love to bowl and the bowling alleys and set-​up is nice and the music on Thursday’s is fantastic. A little bit of 80’s, 90’s and today. Loved it.

This is a weekday lunch/​bowling review.
I am quite familiar with the King’s franchise and I am a fan. We were looking for a team building exercise that would get us out of the office for a few hours and settled on the new Kings in Burlington down the street from us.
Food wise, their menu prices are more than reasonable, and they allow you to order off the dinner menu if you want something particular. They lost a star because the food took forever to come. We might not have noticed it as much if the staff were not breathing down our necks for drinks — but we were clearly there for a no drinks work lunch, and food was quite slow. They threw two our colleagues under the bus for ordering Steak Tips, instead of acknowledging that it took a lot longer than it should have. While we all politely laughed it was not professional of our waitress.
Four stars because we were able to go right over to the lanes and bowl as a team since it was a slow Weds afternoon. We had a blast — I recommend this as a company outing during the week — just don’t go for lunch it is a huge waste of your time — order pizza and apps bowling side vs. eating lunch they have not yet figured out how to staff to accommodate the lunch crowd.

Let me start by saying there are two different parts to Kings Bowl– and with two parts, you get two different levels of service. My rating is based off one bad experience, many great experiences, and one waiter who made me say «Wow».
The bowling area (the bigger part, not the private room) has been my least favorite part. I understand why there are only 2.5 stars based on this side alone. I went to Kings with some friends (at my recommendation) and we were put towards the end of the lanes near the movie theater. The floors were extremely slick, and my husband actually fell because they were too slick– mind you, this isn’t the first time we’ve been bowling and it wasn’t a case of him goofing off. It was just too waxed/​slippery. The service was terrible. Our waitress was slow, didn’t seem to care, and I was honestly pretty embarrassed that I had pushed for us to go here. The drinks took forever, as did the food. If this had been my first experience at Kings, I would not go back.
Thankfully, this was not my first experience. I’ve been here probably 10 – 15 times since they opened. I usually opt to sit in the lounge area because I like the vibe more, and the bar runs smoother there. Their drinks are amazing! I love the variety– this is probably one of the best drink menus I’ve seen at a ‘chain’ restaurant. Pop rock martini? Whoever thought of that is a genius… it’s so great. The food is excellent as well. The mac n’ cheese bites and nachos are to die for!
This brings me to the server who made me want to write this review: Logan. He’s a shining star at Kings. He’s been my server a couple of times, and I’ve never been dissappointed. I have special diet restrictions, and he helped me figure out what would be a good option for me. He was extremely knowledgeable in regards to the ingredients, and even explained the ‘scratch kitchen concept’, which I thought was very cool and made Kings earn more respect from me. The menu is fairly large– I was a little overwhelmed but he gave me multiple recommendations and I ended up ordering a couple different appetizers plus an entrée because everything sounded so good when he was describing it. He also recommended the margarita made with CASAMIGOS tequila the last time I was there, and I will definitely be ordering it next time I come in.
I think this place can be a ‘go to’ location for Burlington, but only once they weed out the servers who don’t care. The bowling area needs more management– in the lounge I almost always have a manager ask me how everything’s going. In the bowling area, no one came around. I was also very surprised to learn that they don’t have a bowling league… seems like they are missing out on a big opportunity there. All in all, this place has a lot of potential and I will keep trying to get new people to come here with me. It’s new, and there are just some management kinks that need to be worked through.
