Tresser’s Towing Service

Well that was fun. I called for a tow, and was given a timeframe of 30 – 45 mins. I thought, great and settled in to wait. After 40 minutes, I received a call saying they weren’t coming and to call someone else.

Our car broke down in Millbrae with electrical problems that were eventually diagnosed as a bad voltage regulator. We have towing service included in our auto insurance, but the only towing service our insurance company authorized to tow us home (10 miles) was $ 100 more than what our insurance covered. After phoning around I decided to use Tresser’s, which quoted a flat $ 80. The tow truck arrived when we were told it would. The driver verified that there was no easy fix for our problem, so he towed us home. He was friendly, professional, polite, and intelligent. We enjoyed chatting with him during the ride home. We were charged exactly $ 80, as promised.
We expected the worst, but received the best service ever. We cannot recommend them highly enough. :-)

Tressers is amazing! They are quick, reasonably priced, and a super honest company. When I’m on the peninsula I would never call any other towing company for anything for mine or my friend’s cars. Laura in the front office is always super helpful too! 50 stars!!!

This guy was tailgating, weaving in and out of lanes, honking, flipping people off all while towing a nice gray Ferrari 458 on the bed of his tow truck.
What a reckless driver. Whoever is in charge here should fire that driver.

For example, my car was towed 2 miles and I was charged;
$ 200 towing fee for 2 miles
$ 70 storage fee for ½ day
$ 100 After hours pick-​up fee at 5 o’clock
$ 370.
In addition, there where scratches on the driver side of my car after the towed the vehicle.

Awful customer service! The man was ruthless. I could not speak or ask questions regarding a tow away that happened while I was moving. Having incurred a great expense in the move I was willing to sign car over so it could be sold to cover cost, or discuss other options available. I’ve never had a car towed and was disheartened to speak to such a ruthless man, not open to any agreement or talk. If your a woman, bring your spouse or seek a legal aid to speak to these kinda of people.: (

I would have no problem with this company except for their poor customer service. I understand that you are going to have to deal with pissed off customers, but when you have a poor attitude to start with it makes everything go down hill from there. Kindness goes a long way they should try it sometime.

I am a mechanic I wanted to move my tool box I must of called 5 different towing truck company’s either they won’t do it or the fee are absurd your going to charge me 400 dollars or 250 but jack the rates up depending on mileage forget it I rather push it to my house. The person who came came on time and made sure my box was secure at a very decent price Chris is the man thanks tresser towing you guys are the best

Really friendly, helpful, informative, efficient, and all-​around great towing service. The driver even recommended a good shop to me, which turned out to be affordable, does quality work, and was nice and helpful too.
Drivers accept tips, keep that in mind.

Unfortunately I bought a lemon of a truck, but I am so happy that Tresser’s came to quickly to pick us up, again and again. Thanks guys!

this place is the worst. not only are they extremely unprofessional, but also extremely rude. the receptionist is by far the worst. sorry you hate your life lady, but the least you could do is your job! not only do they over charge they take many shortcuts in repairs (i am a mechanic and would know) do not go to this place! hopefully maybe in time it will be replaced.

These people are the rudest, most ridiculously hostile people who have been hiding under a rock when the rest of the world was discovering basic ethical values. They said we «should hurry up because she had 20 million other things to do».
And when we were waiting for something, they rudely SHUT the window on us. literally BANGED it down to our face. WHAT??? Unbelievable. unfreakenbelievable. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Ridiculously expensive too.

Car got damaged by these losers. Office is disgusting as well. Unethical.

I had to file a claim with the Small Claims Court. My car was damaged when it was towed from a parking space at an angle and also it rolled and hit the front of the flatbed. I had to e-​mail the business for response and was offered a very small amount for the damage. I was not treated right.

2 of my tires were having issues so I didn’t want to risk crossing a bridge in the rain with suspect tires. I discovered the problem at a gas station trying to remeasure the pressure so luckily I wasn’t stuck on the side of the road.
I called Topline (which is where I get my car serviced) and they referred me to Tresser’s. 30 minutes later, Andrew came to pick me up with a flat bed truck. He was very nice and polite and took care of everything … he was even pleasant to the annoying lady who accosted him for help on her car. Excuse me, I’m the damsel in the distress … or rather, I’m the damsel paying for this tow.
After dropping off my car, he drove me to bart in his tow truck. Can’t beat the service. In what otherwise was a very inconvenient evening, this went off without a hitch (ha ha) and at half the price of what was quoted to me by Geico for an in town tow.

While in Burlingame I got a flat =(I called my emergency roadside service (AAA) only to learn I had exhausted my service for the year already! I made my 2^nd called to my auto insurance company. They were willing to send someone out to change the flat but wanted me to pay out of pocket and then be refunded. I then noticed a Tressers Towing sign. They are located in Burlingame. I received fast, friendly & efficient service.
Plus, I felt kind of good after that flat tire because they billed my insurance! Take that SF! =)

Incredibly rude staff. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered such hostility from a company that deals with people who need help. Such a disappointment. They had come recommended.

I lost the key (and remote) to my car and these guys help me get it towed to the dealership to get new keys programmed. The truck came 30min later than our appointment, but the lady at the shop kept me updated with 2 calls about the delay, very responsible. The guy who drove the truck was resourceful and professional. He managed to get my car out of a tight parking area even though the car is locked and had handbrake on.
Good experience overall.

These guys charged me $ 600 to tow my bike 30 miles and store it in their garage for 2 days. I was in an ambulance so I had no chance to get a quote. To make matters worse, they were already near the scene for another call, yet billed both of us for the time rather than splitting it. Very frustrating, and they seem to not care at all about their customer’s opinions or experience. Maybe this is just how they treat CHP calls, but it seems very exploitative. Would not recommend them unless you enjoy being put over the barrel.

The 99 Eurovan failed on 280 in a rather dramatic fashion on the way back from a Sunday afternoon wedding in Half Moon Bay. I had a meeting with a couple getting married SOON, so I did not want to miss the appointment for something as trifling as an engine explosion.
I fired up the mobile browser from the side of the road, and the first 5 places I called were all answered by the same cranky lady telling me to hold. I don’t mind holding, but could she have at least said please? It sounded like a call center, so I kept trying.
Call #6 was to Tressers. A calm human being answered the phone and he had a driver to me in 20 minutes. I got towed to my appointment (loaded to the gills with DJ gear!) made it to my meeting on time, and impressed the pants off of them with the fact that I had a box of yummy cake from the days event.
When I got home that night — I Unilocaled out a good mechanic in the area and called Tressers in the AM to get towed 10 miles to Excelsior Auto Care in the City. (Nice folks!) The very helpful lady at tressers explained because of my destination, and their destination, it would probably be cheaper for me to call a competitor that was closer to the two. I REALLY appreciated the honesty. After spending a few minutes on the phone, I gave up and just called them back. It was only $ 20 more than the original tow.
For complicated reasons I can’t begin to explain, I ended up taking the car to Burlingame Independant. (See my review) I’m glad I did!
