Joshua Sckolnick, MD

Hands down the best doctor I’ve ever dealt with. My son has been seeing Dr. Sckolnick for the last year for chronic sinus infections. He carefully and thoughtfully explored natural treatments, as well as medication before surgery. Last week he performed surgery on his sinus’ and his follow up was above and beyond anything I’ve experienced in the last few decades.

By far, one of the best doctors I have ever seen. He has the kindest, most compassionate bedside manner and works with you to resolve your issues. I wish more doctors were like him. He doesn’t make you feel inferior or like your issues are all in your head. He treats like family and not a number. He genuinely cares and wants you to be 100%. His audiologist, Jenny Yee is also extremely kind and informative. I am suffering from extreme dizziness/​vertigo and he ran me through several tests to see if it was vertigo. All tests were negative so he suspects it’s just horrible migraines that’s taking a while to adjust. Like I said, he is an awesome Doctor who you won’t regret seeing.

Believe these reviews — they are accurate. He’s a young doctor that really cares and is very communicative regarding corrective actions. He studied my vertigo problem, then selected an Epley maneuver that corrected my issue. He’s my new ENT!

Dr Joshua is a wonderful physician. He makes you feel comfortable, safe, and explains what is going on in your body, listen to you with attention and adress all your concerns and questions. We talked about the medicine, the career in MD since I’m a pre med student, and even about the patient-​doctor interaction. He also showed me inside my nose and troat with the camera equipment. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about caring for people and meeting new human beings as well as doing surgery when is needed. I definitely recommend. He prescribed the right medicine and told me to message him if it doesn’t work. He seems to care a lot about his patients and made me think again why I wanna be a physician.

Super thorough doctor who provides lots of information. He actually spends time listening to you and performing actual tests during the visit.

I came here for a 2^nd opinion and I’m so glad I did. He wasn’t just telling me what I wanted to here, but explained everything to me. I have complete confidence and I will absolutely see him whenever necessary in the future.

WOW. Just wow. What an amazing and wonderful experience I just had visiting Dr. Sckolnick. He really listened to me. He addressed all my concerns and answered all my questions. He was warm, kind, and friendly. He was extremely knowledgeable and he neither talked too far over my head, nor treated me like an idiot. He is just a really fantastic doctor and I wanted to share my very positive experience with him.
On a side note, his office at 1501 Trousdale Dr in Burlingame is new and state-​of-​the-​art. Parking is plentiful and has easy access to the clinic. The clinic is attached to the hospital, which I imagine would make lab work or any needed scans very convenient.

Dr. Sckolnick is the abosulte best! He is so kind, patient, knowledgable and imformative. My whole family loves him and would give him more stars if we could! I would recommend him for children and adults. I was sick with strep so often and together we decided to have my tonsils removed. I have not been sick going on 7 month now. Surgery went great! This was an absolutely fabulous experience. Dr. Sckolnick is a pleasure. He’s warm and welcoming, and makes you feel at ease and confident that your problem will be addressed (before you leave). He definitely knows what he’s doing.

We are very close to our mom, and very particular when it comes to locating specialist for her. After reading all the impressive reviews regarding Dr. Sckolnick I was determined to make an appointment. I can truly write that every review is absolutely spot on. Our 90 yrs young mother has some challenges that require patience, kindness and a gentle nature. Dr. Sckolnick met those requirements as well as being professional, informative, creative and resolute. Without a doubt he is our doctor for our mother’s ENT needs. As a matter of fact, he can be my doctor!

No one ever wants to go to the doctor but there is a great comfort in finding a really, really good doctor. Dr. Sckolnick is definitely an outstanding physician. I had already been to my general practitioner and to urgent care. Despite lots of prescriptions, I was not feeling better and I was really confused about what was happening to me. So I opted to go to an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist. That brought me to Dr. Sckolnick. Am I glad I found him! All of his amazing Unilocal reviews and other great reviews on medical websites led me to him.
Before he came into the exam room, he had already read up on why I was there. I thought that was so great. I’m so used to doctors that come into the exam room and have no clue why I am even there. And then they ask me, «why are you here?»
During the visit, he was patient as I explained the on-​set of the symptoms and the days that followed. As he articulated, it’s all about the story. I had a sudden onset of vertigo, nausea, vomiting, headaches, and rapid heart beats. This lasted for days. He asked questions, checked my hearing, tested me for BPPV, and did other neurological tests to make sure I didn’t have a stroke. Vestibular neuronitis was the diagnosis. It is caused by an inflammation of the vestibular nerve in the inner ear when it is attacked by a virus.
I cannot express enough how good it is to have your medical condition explained in detail so that you have a full grasp of what’s happening to you and to rule out more horrifying possibilities (like a stroke). I am grateful to Dr. Sckolnick and am so glad to have found such a great ENT specialist that genuinely cares about his patients. I also appreciate how responsive he is to emails from his patients.

I highly recommend Dr. Joshua Sckolnick. He is very knowledgeable, kind, caring and most importantly extremely skilled in his area of expertise. He has some of the most up to date technology and current techniques. He is a great Doctor and made my experience very pleasant, he explains everything in a way that you can understand and spends time listening to his patients in order to determine the best method of care. After having ear problems for most of my life, and seeing many Doctors, I can tell you he is skilled in his profession and takes pride in helping his patients. The office staff were welcoming, kind and friendly to my baby and me and Mills Peninsula Hospital is fantastic. If you need a Doctor for any issues with your ears, nose or throat, I recommend getting the best care possible and making an appointment with Dr. Sckolnick.

I had such a great experience with Dr. Sckolnick. He was very welcoming and friendly while displaying his prowess of the field. The last appointment I hand with an ENT Doctor literally lasted 3 minutes, no options were presented to me and the consultation was rushed; I won’t mention the doctors name but I will not frequent her practice any longer after discovering Dr. Sckolnick.

The best experience with a physician I’ve ever had; Dr. Sckolnick is a very personable, warm, and extremely modest man but he deserves every rock star review he has.
We traveled to Southeast Asia (India and Hong Kong) over the holidays and I got very sick with recurring sore throat, infected tonsils and a host of persistent and exhausting symptoms. Despite visits to the urgent care, my family physician (who was on the right track) twice and 2 additional visits to another ENT, lab tests were inconclusive. I was told «not to worry about it» and that my pus-​covered tonsils and roller coaster symptoms were just fine, which to me seemed absolutely ludicrous.
Doctor Sckolnick reviewed the timeline and history I gave him. He did a thorough and meticulous exam whereas every other doctor looked in my mouth for 2 – 3 seconds. He patiently answered each and every question I had (and I had many) and he made me feel respected and not «paranoid» as another doctor had suggested. He aggressively cultured my tonsils and sent a different type of request to the lab, thinking outside the box, to see what might grow.
Just now, I received a call from him, and after 10 weeks of being sick, finally got a real answer: the lab results revealed heavy growth of a type of Influenzae rarely found in the tonsils. He has given me a treatment plan and a way forward. The most important thing he has given me, though, is validation. Dr. Sckolnick is a creative thinker with an open mind — his willingness to explore this with me instead of just dismissing it lead to an interesting discovery for both of us. I have not even begun to adequately express here how exceptional this man is; his entire approach to medicine is fresh, original, smart and compassionate. Highly recommend.

I too agree with all the positive reviews on Unilocal for Dr. Sckolnick. He was so patient, taking time to discuss my concerns and help answer any questions. He went above and beyond by taking time to actually teach me about the ear and symptoms, etc. I left with a feeling that the future of medicine is good hands with doctors like him.
If anyone needs an ENT in the Bay Area, I would strongly recommend making an appointment with Dr. Sckolnick. By the way, I never leave reviews but felt compelled to give him a positive mention.

I have to agree with everyone else here. Dr. Sckolnick was a welcome breath of fresh air in the world of medicine. I have had a number of excellent doctors, but somehow his demeanor from the very moment he stepped in the room was exceptional. He is friendly, concerned, matter of fact and open about all the things going through his mind that may or may not have been going through yours. He also explains what treatment he could give, and what treatment he is going to give and why so you know exactly why he is going with one option instead of another.
I’m confident that Dr. Sckolnick will have many years of practice in front of him with hundreds of satisfied patients singing his praises as a member of his profession.
Whatever you do, don’t be concerned because he is young… he is perfect just the way he is.

Dr. Sckolnick was the only ENT in the emergency (thank God) I had went there because my throat was swelling up for the second time in two days. A catscan showed i had a large abscess in my throat by my tonsils. I was so nervous with all the doctors and nurses. But as soon as Dr. Sckolnick came in and started talking very calmly with me and explaining everything, i was so much better. It wasnt a very fun process to get rid of the abscess, but Dr. Sckolnick was fast, and calm about everything. Im so happy that he was the one to be there. I highly recommend him to EVERYONE.
