The following are just my personal emotions and impressions and are not proffered as fact. They emailed me about a position. Right away, something felt funny because the job description listed what seemed a lot of managerial responsibilities for a relatively lowly position. In my experience, it’s just not good for you when the company expects you to do a big job, with a lot of responsibility, but doesn’t empower you to make those decisions. You end up on the hook for results, but without the real ability to make things happen. I thought maybe I had misunderstood the job description. I asked Yvonne at InspiredHigher about it. It felt as if she kept interrupting me, and I did not feel as if I could speak. And that’s when I thought I heard her call me a control freak and say that we were done, and ended the conversation.
