Boudoir by Lily

I had SUCH an amazing experience with this shoot. I was nervous about it but Lily was so calm, warm, progressional, and organized. The studio is beautiful and the pictures came out better than I ever expected. I borrowed a pair of shoes and wore my own garments. I got the digital copies within 2 weeks and then album in about a month. I am so happy I did this and would recommend Lily to anyone!

I was thoroughly pleased with my experience and results of my photo shoot with Lily. She’s professional and has a nature ability to instill confidence in her clients. Before I booked with Lily, we had a brief but informative phone conversation about what to expect and how to prepare.
On the day of the shoot I was excited and a tad nervous, but I was instantly put at ease by Lily. We started by reviewing her products (photobooks) and then she provided feedback on the outfits and accessories that I brought (which I greatly appreciated). The studio is quaint but provides a lot of varying back drops and I loved the variety of shoots she was able to capture during my 1.5 hour session. She really has a great eye and it shows in the photos she takes. She has a tasteful and classic style to her work that appealed to me.
The photos, photobook, and video far exceeded my expectations and I was beyond happy (as was my husband) with the end result. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lily for a boudoir photo shoot.

Lily is amazing, her photos are beautiful and make you feel like a model! If you are nervous about getting boudoir photos done, she is so personable and fun, will put you at easy and walk you through the whole thing. The album is gorgeous and it was an awesome surprise present for my husband on our wedding day. I had a destination wedding and was short on time, she hand delivered the album! I wasn’t positive I was going to love having boudoir photos, but after reading the reviews decided it was worth trying with Lily. I was blown away by the whole process! Her studio is gorgeous with careful feminine details and natural light. Lily greeted me with a glass of champagne and we looked through her portfolios so that she could get a sense of my style. Lily made me feel comfortable and pretty throughout the whole shoot. I left feeling like I would get a few good shots and it was a fun experience. Then I went back to select my photos. Oh my gosh! They were better than I could have imagined. The photos were stunning with a sexy classy look. These photos are art. I am so happy I did the shoot and would go back to Lily again in a heartbeat. She made sure I was prepared and shared ideas for hair, makeup, lingere, and poses and then worked with me the day of to make sure that I was in control and getting the photos I wanted. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Lily is amazing. From my initial email inquiry, prep emails, photoshoot, follow up meetings, and ultimately my finished product (a gorgeous book that arrived packaged beautifully) my experience was everything that I had hoped for. She immediately put me at ease as I arrived and was unsure of what to expect. She poured me a glass of champagne and made me feel as if we were fast friends. Her studio is a gorgeous light filled bedroom and is perfect! She told me exactly what to do and I felt like a supermodel. I tend to be a little critical of myself, so as I headed to the follow up to preview the photos I told myself to have an open mind and pick a few of the best. I was floored when I saw them. I LOVED them all! I ended up purchasing 15 photos and had them printed in a gorgeous matte bound book. As I left that day, I felt so confident and beautiful. I presented the book on Valentine’s weekend which was also my husbands birthday and he was thrilled! He says that it is the most thoughtful gift that I have ever given him and he was so impressed with the quality of the photos and book. I would recommend Lily to anyone, and now I want to do another shoot!

First, I will say for being a one-​woman show Lily does an amazing job. She has her own studio which is beautifully decorated and included with the cost of your package. She is quick to answer emails and frequently updates her elegantly designed website and blog. She even has a photo shoot preparation guide online for her clients. Her retainer is done through Square Market and she uses Pixieset to send your final images to you. I personally appreciate her tech-​savvy in this regard.
I’d also like to emphasize that Lily is an extremely talented photographer. Before hiring her, I did my research and scoured the internet to find great boudoir photographers in the Bay Area. I perused hundreds of reviews and photos. As other clients have mentioned, Lily’s style is very feminine, flirty, romantic, and classy. Basically, the opposite of tacky, which unfortunately is how some boudoir pictures can look. She is wonderful at capturing candid moments, and uses natural lighting expertly. I was VERY satisfied with the end product.
And last but not least, she has a great personality. Undoubtedly, this is important when choosing a photographer for such an intimate setting. She is calm, focused, and professional. I didn’t feel rushed when I was with her. She gives you direction on poses without being pushy, but allows you room to «free style» as well.
Since I have done another shoot as a vintage pin-​up before, there were some aspects of the photo selection process that stood out to me because I had something to compare it to. For example, Lily prepares a fixed number of finished photos first and then asks you to choose from them. Obviously this is different from asking you to select which proofs you’d like for touch-​up. She also sits down with you to go over your photos for final selection as opposed to sending you a gallery to view on your own. So photographers will have different artistic approaches to these sorts of things, and this is something to keep in mind.
At the end of the day, I would not just recommend Lily, I would also sign up to do another boudoir shoot with her again! It was a lot of fun. Thanks again!

Her pictures are classy and elegant compared to a lot of cheap and slutty looking portfolios out there. She really knows how to capture feminine beauty and make you feel special. She’s also very professional and genuine, which can be seen in her photos. I’m so glad I found her!!!

Girls if there is something you must do not just for your significant other but for ‘you’, a Boudoir shoot is a must. And there is no one other than Lily I would recommend. I was toying with the idea for some time, being more on the shy side wasn’t sure if this was of me but Lily easily made this one of my best decisions.
Lily is professional, quick to answer email and very informative. She provided plenty of reading material before the shoot and gave me details on how to prepare. On the day of the shoot, she went through my outfits, asked me what I would like to do and went through each pose step by step. For someone who has never taken photographs, this was obviously very helpful. What I like the most however was how comfortable and at ease she made me feel with everything. She was warm and bubbly which adds to the experience.
When I went back to see how my photos turned out, I was absolutely blown away. She made me look gorgeous! The way Lily captured my emotion, expressions and movement was amazing. I could not be happier.
So if you’re looking for someone to do your shoot… look no further, you found her!

I just got home from reviewing the pictures that I took from a boudoir session with Lily from a few weeks ago. I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out and I’m so excited to get the finished product and give it to my soon to be hubby on our wedding day. Lily is a such a sweet person and I felt comfortable instantly once I met her. Her studio is in downtown Burlingame and is elegant and beautiful. I wish my bedroom looked like her studio! It’s the perfect backdrop for boudoir photos. Lily did a wonderful job guiding me through all the poses we did and made me feel confident even though I had never done anything like this before! Top to bottom she was a pleasure to work with and I would shoot with her again in a heart beat. She is well worth the money and I guarantee you will have a memorable experience and an incredible finished product!

Oh how do I even start?! She is soooo amazing!!! Lily is fun to work with and so good at what she does. I was hesitant at first but she made me feel at ease once we started shooting. All the photos turned out really great and it was such a great decision to have chosen her to do my Budoir. It’s such a great experience and I’m glad it was captured by such a great photographer.

I wanted to do a boudoir shoot as a wedding gift to my husband and was initially going to be done by a close friend but the plans fell through so here i was searching Unilocal for an affordable boudoir package and found Lily. She is very professional and easy to work with. Very prompt with her email communications and gave great advise and directions during the shoot. I absolutely love the outcome of my boudoir album. I originally purchase the diva 1 package but had to upgrade to more photos since it was so hard to choose from all the great shots! I wanted to buy them all coz I didn’t know how she made me look that good in the photos. My husband is of course stunned by the whole concept and is in love with it as well. I love how surprised he was on our wedding day.

From the first email contact to the ultimate package Lily sent me in the mail with a personalized thank you card, Lily was a pleasure to work with. Her communication skills and professionalism were outstanding!
My vision was sultry black & white photos with natural lighting. Upon much research, I felt that Lily’s photos on her blog were by far the best in the area.
I’m a little shy on camera and was hesitant about going through with the boudoir photo shoot but I’m so glad that I followed through. Lily made me feel completely at ease throughout the shoot by chatting with me while she directed poses and advised on what lighting and movement will look good. Being brand new to any type of shoot, this made me feel confident and comfortable. Her studio is tastefully done with all the props you will need. She even let me borrow some pearl necklaces to complete my look!
I chose the ‘little black book’ package that came with 10 touched up photos. I liked how discrete it looked and wanted to surprise my special someone for Valentines Day. Lily was diligent about following up after the photo shoot so I can select the photos I liked in order to have them done before the agreed date. I couldn’t be happier about the results! This was such a great experience and I can’t thank Lily enough.

Boudoir by Lily is a small bubbly studio with shaded windows for natural sunlight to shine through. Although the space is small, she is still able to make it seem like you’re in a huge space. And there’s a heater for when you’re nakie and cold!
I recently did a shoot with Lily and it was easy for me to confide in her because of her artistry and professionalism. It was easy to talk & relate to her. She’ll work according to your style & personality, and not make you do anything you wouldn’t want to, which is exactly what makes a customer satisfied with the product. Unlike most boudoir photos I’ve researched, Lily’s photos are light & picturesque – appropriate enough to place into my future new home. For 5’1″ stumpy, broad shoulder, big-​calved, muscular little ol’ me, Lily knows exactly the poses and sections of my body to emphasize to look & feel confident, feminine, romantic, classy, & elegant – without the photo coming off as forced and naughty. She made my supple breasts look like I had something! There is a certain level of class & caliber when it comes to what Lily chooses to be your best. I am totally not embarrassed to show my friends what she’s captured. In fact, one of them says it’s «very magazine-​like!» Truth be told, I had never gotten my full face make-​upized, my hair done professionally (a manicure, pedicure, or massage), nonetheless ever done a boudoir shoot in my life! This was a big step for me. I felt like this was my initiation into womanhood. Both Jane from The Glamourist and Lily can transform any aged woman into a beautiful minimalist. Definitely my style of work. I commend Lily for being one a kind in the Bay Area boudoir industry. I’m honored to get to work with her. Come to her for natural-​looking sensual portraits.
My tip for long, petite, ladies without too many curves, definitely practice your arches a few days before your shoot. Holding those arches are killer ! And make sure you have your makeup and hair done (manicure and pedicure, too, those are nice :)). Lily is very into curls with volume, and lip gloss. It does make the difference. She has some great makeup artist recommendations as well, just ask :)

In my vein of reviewing wedding-​type vendors, I wanted to review Boudoir by Lily. One of my best friends got married last year and decided to do a boudoir shoot with Lily. I accompanied for moral support.
I was very impressed with Lily’s studio (beautiful, romantic, with the right amount of classy ooh-​la-​la details) and even more impressed with Lily’s professional demeanor. My friend can be shy, but Lily was calming, had great posing tips (who knew there were so many ways to seductively contort one’s body?) and most of all, patient! My friend knew what she wanted and didn’t want and Lily worked within her boundaries while encouraging other ideas that ended up with amazing results!
Speaking of amazing results, the final album was a masterpiece! Tastefully done and truly timeless — sumptuous images with the right amount of lighting, shading and brightness where needed.

Lily is AMAZING!!! I researched a lot of boudoir photographers in the bay area and Lily’s photos were by far the best. Her style is soft, sexy, and sophisticated. She has a wonderful eye!
I did the photo shoot for my husband for our 1^st wedding anniversary. It turned out that it was just as much a gift for me as for him! It gave me a huge confident boost.
Lily is really professional and sweet. She is very quick to reply to emails. I did my shoot at a hotel in SF and she arrived on time with sample books and a bunch of necklaces to use. She made me feel super comfortable and showed me exactly what poses to get into. The photos came out amazing! She works very quickly and I got to see the pics online in a weeks time. My book came in about 3 or 4 weeks later and it turned out so well. The quality is great. The book came in a beautiful fabric cover that I wasn’t expecting, with a little note from Lily. It made it so cute and special! My husband’s eyeballs practically popped out of his head when he saw it! He said it was the best gift he had ever received. :)
I am so glad I got the courage to do this shoot. Lily made it an incredible experience!

I wanted to commemorate somewhat of a new beginning in my life. I had always wanted to do boudoir, so I decided there was no better time to mark this «rebirth» than right now.
I found Lily and I fell in love with her work. From my first interaction with her, Lily was super sweet, responsive, and told me exactly what to expect. Aside from her stunning work, I also chose Lily because of her home studio — she staged a room for photo shoots which is the ultimate blend of feminine and sexy… pink pinstripes, white fur bed cover, antique rotary phone, delicate lighting… it was perfect.
I showed up to her place, was warmly greeted by her friend & makeup artist Penney Do, and I proceeded to get dolled up while listening to music. We chatted and laughed, and slowly, my nerves went away. When my hair and makeup were done, Lily helped me pick the perfect accessories and shoes. I ended up going with HER collection rather than what I brought!
The photo shoot itself was an amazing experience. My cousin was in the room which helped me feel even more comfortable. Lily directed me with the patience and vision of a true professional. By the end of it, I was sad it was over. A few days later, she reached out to me to choose my favorite pics and approve my photobook layout — my final Little Black Book came in the mail a few weeks later.
My photos came out pretty amazing, if I say so myself :) She had a knack for emphasizing certain body parts and distracting from others (that I didn’t want to emphasize). And she takes into account what you are comfortable showing/​not showing.
I absolutely loved working with Lily and I’m so glad I did this for myself!
