DO NOT USE PUGET SOUND PLUMBING — THEY ARE A TOTAL SCAM!!!
1) They showed up 2.5 hours later than the scheduled time. I sat around waiting and they didn’t call once to let me know they were running late.
2) They quoted me $ 1,200 to install a trim kit for my bathtub/​shower, which is absolutely ridiculous. I paid for another plumber who did this in less than 30 minutes for $ 200.
3) They then proceeded to charge me $ 100 which they never disclosed up front. I am fighting this.
As another reviewer said, they are a total scam. They charge you $ 100 for the visit and then give you some outrageous quote and walk away with the fee without doing anything at all.

Puget Sound Plumbing scammed me and I will be submitting a report to the Better Business Bureau! I scheduled a plumbing appointment to diagnose a kitchen faucet leak. Once they got at my place they quoted me 1000 dollars to change a faucet, service+new faucet, or 700 dollars just for the service. I obviously rejected the quote. Nonetheless they charged me 100 dollars for the visit. This is ridiculous!
Changing a faucet takes less than 2 hours. Which means that this company is making 350 dollars an hour.
They have the perfect scam! They charge you 100 dollars for a visit which is guaranteed money… once in your house they quote ridiculous prices that obviously no one will pay. They pocket 100 dollars.
I feel violated and scammed!
2 min search on youtube shows that ridiculously simple DIY that requires a basin wrench (15 bucks), a normal wrench (2 bucks), some sillicone sealant (optional, 5 bucks) and 1 hour of labor.

They were sent out to do an insurance job. Move the water heater today to a temporary location so water mitigation crew can fix the sub-​floor then come back in a few days to move it back. Simple? Not really. Complicated? Not Really.
First thing the guy did was try to sell me a new heater. That’s not why you’re here. Before even really looking at the water heater, «Well this kind of furnace is prone to heat exchanger cracks so you need to replace it.» Literally first words out of his mouth after hello.
Then he wrote up a bid and the insurance person who was here called it in to get approved.
Then I heard him call in to his dispatch to say that «I’m not gonna wait around here more than another five minutes.» He had been waiting so far five minutes from the time he handed the quote to the insurance guy.
Then he left.
Then 2 minutes later the insurance guy got approval on his bid via text.
So he was a impatient. He tried to upsell. He’s going to submit his $ 100 dispatch fee to my insurance because he didn’t get a dime from me. And he walked on a $ 2500 job.
But now I’m preapproved by insurance so the company they send tomorrow will get that money. Good business model, settle for $ 100 and piss people off instead of waiting a reasonable amount of time and getting $ 2500.
I could call him back and tell him the job and payment are approved but why would I?

Way too expensive. They won’t quote a price until they are at your house, but once there they charge you $ 100 dispatch fee whether you give them the job or not. $ 600 to replace a garbage disposal. Ridiculous!

Never, never, never use this company for your plumbing needs. All the one-​star ratings you see here are well deserved. We just paid $ 960 (plus tax) for the installation of a disposal that retails for less than $ 200. Bad on us for not shopping more carefully. We were in a hurry. So that works out to $ 760 for less two hours of labor by two plumbers. Having done this work in the past myself, I’m a little puzzled by the need for two plumbers. Buyer beware.

One word — opportunists. I wish I had read these Unilocal reviews before having them come to my home. I am so embarrassed that I let them overcharge me but i was worried about leaking water.
The cost to replace the cold water connector on the washing machine was over $ 400. And guess what — the cost to replace the hot water one was over $ 200 — this was done at within 30 minutes total = $ 700. Each service they provided cost no less then $ 179. It added up quickly to almost $ 3000. I was foolish to accept these prices and when all was said and done I realized that the plumbers labor rate was around $ 400 per hour.
Do surgeons even make that much?

Called them in a pinch a few months ago. The guy didn’t know what he was doing and was rude. Charged me $ 350 to tell me to call an electrician and left me with no running water. I at least had cold water prior to the rip off. All pregnant women need flushing toilets! I will never call them again!

This is Nate Wilson. I will be sending you a copy of my invoice from my electrician to you so that it will prove that your plumber technician by law was NOT suppose to touch my electrical panel except to turn it on and off. Your technician plumber, put a connector on that was not properly grounded, then he attached the bad connector to another connector that was clearly damaged. Which then caused a electrical fire in my electrical panel box where I had to call 911 and request for the fire department immediately.
I have proof and evidence your technician plumber, not only damaged my water pipes, and cut my foundation stud. But his illegally tampering with my electrical panel box caused a electrical fire at my house where the firemen had to come and put it out.
I will be sending you statements also from the fire department stating your technician Plummer or any other licensed electrician should have never plugged anything back up seeing there was any signs of arcing of wires in a electrical box.
Being your plumber technician is NOT a licensed electrician he would have never knew that he shouldn’t have hooked up or even touched anything behind the electrical panel unless he is licensed and certified.
What really makes me hurt and angry despite your bad service and poor choice of better judgement.
I talked to woman named T something that laughed about me and my family almost losing their lives because of one her employees neglect of responsibility for the safety of a customer and a human life. I hope that she realizes, I take my life and my family’s lives very seriously.
And I will hold your company to all of my capabilities liable for ALL damages caused by your company to my home.

Wow, what a rip off. Thankfully we got some more estimates, which saved us over $ 1,500! Although we had used them before, we hadn’t had a comparison.
For starters, they charge a dispatch fee of $ 99, whereas others came out free of charge.
Then they claimed that the water tank (which is not even 6 years old) should be replaced, because the connections were corroded so a replacement of the elements would only be a temporary fix. This evaluation took only about 2 minutes.
Turns out the tank is perfectly fine and the parts only rusty (which is normal) but not corroded. Furthermore, other companies would have charged us only about half for a water tank replacement and also only half for the replacement of the elements only. And then finding out the total relacement is not necessary leaves me speechless. What crooks!

We had a problem with a leaking sink faucet. Taylor Fehlen came out and looked at it and said that the leak was caused by our undermount sink coming loose from it’s mounting. He did not bother to look under the sink to see if the mount was indeed failing. What he thought was glue holding the sink up was actually silicone caulk. He refused to ateempt to repair the faucet because he was concerned that the sink would fall on him as he attempted the repair. I had another plumber look to give me a second opinion. The sink mount is solid. He was able to replace the leaking supply hose without a problem. I have contacted the business and they have refused to refund the $ 108.41 dispatch fee. While I understand that this a a fee for showing up, the fact that he misdiagnosed the problem and refused to even attempt repair based on his incorrect assumption that the sink mount was failing is troublesome to say the least. I would stay very far away from these folks.

The kitchen sink drain was blocked. I found them on Google and called them. The lady told me the dispatch cost is 99 $. I asked if the cost of service (opening the drain) is more than this. She said no.
Then the two technicians came in and gave me quote for 499 $. I rejected the quote but paid 99 $ for nothing.
After they left I fixed the issue in 10 minutes.
Don’t call them. Simply do it yourself if you have technical skills or find a local who cares for customers.

These guys have done a couple of jobs for me. The work they have done has been competent. They are a bit expensive though, in my estimation, but in fairness, I didn’t call around so I don’t know if other places charge the same or not.

I highly CAUTION you to use this business unless you want to throw several thousand dollars down the toilet. I have never written a bad review (negative if I could), but I want to help people considering this company save thousands of dollars.
Sept. 2012, we contacted Puget Sound Plumbing & Heating (Seattle) for deals they were running on tankless water heaters. Elliot came out and highly advised against a tankless, but highly recommended the latest hybrid heat pump AirTap tank by AirGenerate that has a «lifetime» warranty. Install went fine and Elliot was great to come back out to fix a few things as needed and was very responsive.
Sept. 2013 right at the 1 year mark, a loud alarm was audible throughout our large 2 story home that wouldn’t stop at all hours in the middle of the night. I took time away from work be home to have this serviced. First tech didn’t even know how to work on these units. That was a waste of everyone’s time. So I had to take more time off work so Drew (the tech could work on these units) could come out during a certain window. Nearing the end of the provided window, I would get a call from the coordinator that he wasn’t able to make it and needed to reschedule. After 4 times of me taking time off work and rescheduling, I wasn’t as nice and came across frustrated, but still mindful of not being rude (which I had every right to be, but wasn’t). So I came across very firm that we could not tolerate this random loud alarm anymore. Our kitchen was being remodeled at the same time so I asked my amazing contractor if he would be so kind to let Drew in when he needed. When Drew finally arrived, he walked into the kitchen and asked my contractor literally — «where is that b****h». My contractor was so angry at Drew’s unprofessionalism since my contractor knows what a great client I am (after 3 major remodel projects) so he advised Drew to walk away and do his plumbing job. Turns out Drew couldn’t fix it and the unit needed to be replaced which it finally was by another Puget Sound Plumbing tech who hauled the unit on it’s side even though the box clearly says not to lay it on it’s side. The tech signed a piece of paper that he did that in case there were any problems. The owner came out to double check the work and brushed off my horrible experience.
Fast forward to September 2015 as a different alarm has been going off on the new unit and won’t stop. I won’t dare contact Puget Sound again after being treated so poorly. Instead, I got smart and called several true professionals in the area. I found only 1 person in Seattle that services these units! He comes out to tell me several problems about this $ 4K unit with a «lifetime» warranty:
* The ducting wasn’t even attached!
* The fan went out
* The pump went out
* The manufacturer went out of business this year — so no parts are available and there is NO «lifetime» warranty
* To top it off, the unit should have NEVER ever been installed in the small closet to begin with. The units are designed to be in a garage with open space so that air can circulate — that is more than likely why 2 of these units have gone bad
I decided to get another opinion from a company that has experience with hybrid water pump tanks and they also came out to look at the situation and gave the exact same opinion that the unit should have never been installed in the closet!
Today, I am investing with a reputable company for a simple storage tank that will be backed up and will service their work. Unfortunately, what I thought was an investment 3 years ago wasn’t and I am out thousands of dollars. I would never on earth call Puget Sound Plumbing to rectify the situation putting us deeper in a hole. Rather cut losses now. So please look elsewhere on Unilocal for better companies. I wish I did.

Do not even attempt to use these guys… They are crooks… Quoted almost 400.00 to snake a very small washing machine line when all other plumbers charge 150.00 as I have this done routinely each year. I told them the issue they pulled out my machine and left it a mess in my laundry room and left demanding a dispatch fee of 99.00 plus tax. 108.00 for nothing when I refused the work at the rate they wanted to charge. They could not even provide me with a receipt.

Puget Sound Plumbing and Heating will not provide estimates, even when it is reasonable to do so. We had a leaking toilet. My wife tried to get an estimate to replace the flush mechanism and float. Unfortunately she agreed to let them come without securing some ballpark cost for the work. They provided a $ 600 estimate to do the work. Meanwhile, I called Beacon Plumbing another local outfit that gave me a $ 200 estimate for the same work. We were out the $ 108.41 visit fee, and I refuse to ever call them again. When I called to complain about this shakedown, I was informed that my wife’s call to them was recorded, and if we didn’t pay the site visit by the next day then it would be sent to collections.
FYI — I eventually bought a new toilet at Lowes. When the Lowes installer showed up, he asked me why I was replacing the toilet then proceeded to tell me all it needed was a $ 5 gasket.
You don’t want to do business with these PSP&H characters!!!

Worst service ever. Don’t waste your time and money with this company. There’s a minimum charge of 108 for them to show up and they will give you a ridiculous estimate for a simple job. Apparently there’s. Min charge of 299 on top of the 99 to do anything. Puzzled me why this company is still in service!

Stay away from them! They over charge their work! I got them from Amazon service. I trusted Amazon to filter out bad providers but I was wrong. They charge $ 99 for dispatch fee to inspect the toilet, then $ 469 to pull and reset the toilet. Then after they took out the toilet, they saw it was missing a flange kit and charge me another $ 417 for installed the flange kit. With «discounts», They charged me $ 900 in the end to reset a toilet and add a flange kit. Other places only charge $ 300 or less! I asked them to break down their cost and labour and they refused to do so saying this is a fixed job charge and can’t separate parts and labour. They say they charge expensively because they have a 30 day warranty. But other providers do the same for much cheaper!
I called them for a price dispute and the only thing I got was a $ 99 coupon for the next job. I will never ask them to do anything ever again!

I have used Puget Sound Plumbing several times for sewer problems. David and his team have always been very responsive, prompt and courteous. Recently they replaced my side sewer which was very complicated and turned out to be a much larger and more difficult job than originally anticipated. Chris and his crew worked very long hours trying to stay on schedule according to the timeline they gave me. They were able to completed this difficult project in a timely manner

Nearly three years later you come back with some made up tale of blackmail and conspiracy? It’s obvious that the consistency of 1 star reviews are causing your business to hemorrhage! However so, I can speak from experience that you have earned it.
I don’t recall a freeze and I’m certain if there was, your multiple no shows over a period of weeks did not qualify for that claim. I bought a Groupon for $ 300 worth of service and that is what I expected, so your $ 30 refund or claim that I was attempting to profit are both bogus. I live on a golf course, and that is the result of hard work, intelligence and education, 3 things I strongly question about you. I have no need or desire to blackmail, intimidate or lie. I’m all about the HONEST review and if it stings a little it should, because that how it felt to try and resolve this matter with you directly prior to posting any review.
You are an unhonorable business person and no amount of fake 5 star reviews will change that. In the end, I found an amazing plumber and got a full refund from you. My retelling of events cost you far in excess in potential business than what it would have for you to have done the right thing. And ironically, you just got your drain snaked in front of millions of Unilocal readers.
My advice to you is rather than try and save face at the expense of a dissatisfied customer. How about you provide the kinda service that shows from April 2015, you were able to provide consistent and competitive service to offset the overwhelming percentage of 1 star reviews. You should have never poked the bear, because I was completely satisfied in hibernation, but now you got me on watch for at least the next couple seasons.

I am upgrading the star from one to two stars. I ended up having to wait one more day before they sent me a plumber who know how to fix a tank less water heater.
The first guy — Christ showed up at my house around 1PM with another guy (who didn’t seem to do anything other than playing with his phone). I told him that my water heater had an ignition failed and we tried to re-​start it by turning it off and on but it did not come back. I gave him the manual that shows error#11 for Rinnai water heater. He read the manual for a long time. It seemed like he did not know how to fix it. After 35 minutes of messing around with it, it seemed to work. He said he just cleaned out the dust on the ignition. I paid $ 375 for that (with $ 45 Unilocal discount which is still pretty expensive since there was no part). I was OK with that if it was a permanent fix. Two hours later I tested the water, no hot water again. I called the company. They said they will send him back today whenever Christ finished with his current job. I waited until 7.30PM. Another plumber called and said he need to buy parts and he will be back tomorrow. He said he knows this kind of system. I waited all day in the house with no heater and hot water. I wish they would have told me that they can’t come today.
The next morning, Adam showed up and fixed the water heater. He changed the ignition and clean out the water heater. They charge us another $ 199 plus tax for the part. I would have give them five stars if they sent Adam from the beginning.
Suggestions to the business owner:
— Maybe you should train the operator to ask what kind of water heater they have before sending someone out. Make sure that he know the system so the customer will not have bad experiences.
— The trainee should not play on the phone while he is at work. It is totally un-​professional. The trainee asked me why they have such a bad review on Unilocal.I wonder why.
