History
Established in 1962.
The first Zankou Chicken was opened in 1962 in the heart of Beirut, Lebanon. In 1984, Zankou opened its doors in Hollywood. Centered in the heart of America’s motion picture industry, Zankou attracted thousands of aspiring actors, writers, artists, and musicians with its delicious, inexpensive meals. In 1992, we opened in Glendale. By this time, Zankou’s fan base had risen to match its taste. The restaurant was heavily crowded on opening day, and the immense success of this branch led us to open further restaurants in Van Nuys, Anaheim, & Pasadena. With openings in West LA and Burbank, Zankou gave customers a glimpse into the restaurant’s future: where delicious, high quality, inexpensive meals are served amidst an elegant ambiance. We just opened our newest store in Sidewalk café on Glenoaks in the heart of Glendale, and we look forward to opening a store in North Hollywood in the community of Toluca Lake, just minutes away from Universal Studios this Spring.
Meet the Business Owner
Dikran I.
Business Owner
Dikran Iskenderian has a Bachelor’s of Science in business administration with a Management concentration from Woodbury University. He also has a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Woodbury University. He now attends UCLA Extension for a Professional Certification in marketing.
He manages day-to-day operations and much of the restaurants marketing, communications with media, menu design, advertising, and R&D. He is also involved with hiring new employees, scouting for new locations, and customer relations.
