The LAB-​CIBA in Burbank, CA does the Classic Ilfochrome/​Cibachrome. Our sizes range from 8×10″ to a spectacular 50X98″. Everything is printed optically using the finest lenses and enlargers. At the LAB-​CIBA we have been printing Ilfochrome/​Cibachrome for 30 years. A lot of products try to look like Cibachrome but it is impossible to duplicate the archival qualities and beautiful richness that only Ciba has. We work with a company in Los Angeles (Bow Haus) who scans (drum) positives or negatives and outputs them to either 4×5″ or 8×10″ transparencies. Digital files can be output the same way and printed optically.

History

Established in 1983.

The Lab-​Ciba was originated as a place where artists/​photographers could realize their projects as near-​exactly as they visualized them. I have been printing Ilfochrome (formerly known as Cibachrome) for thirty years. Ilfochrome is recognized as the most stable of all photographic processes. i bring together the deep technical knowledge, refined aesthetics, and collaborative approach to each project necessary to produce museum-​quality images in print and film. I have worked with a number of the most influential artists in both Los Angeles and New York, with the results being exhibited in major museums and galleries all over the world.
