So, I’ve been going here for a few years and the exam part is good. My prescription seems to be fine. But it’s taking about 3 weeks to get my new glasses. 1st time it was 2 weeks. Seems a bit long. And I can’t see well with over the counter readers. It’s killing me. Maybe a 3.5 star if I could.

I love this place, I’ve been going to Costco for a long time, and tried another Optometrist, but I have to say this place really gives you that individual attention that I hadn’t experienced before. Everyone who works there is SO friendly! I feel so comfortable with everyone here, especially with the optometrist, which is very important to me.

LOVE Peg (and all the staff, especially Kathi), but my go to Optician is Peg. That girl can adjust glasses just right, like nobodies business! Perfection. And she is patient, no rushing because she wants to get it right on your face. From my $ 10 «junkers» to my $ 450 Oliver Peoples, I wouldn’t let anyone adjust /​fix my glasses but Peg. Absolutely the best! I’ve been coming to this Optometry business for years and even though my Dr. Takaki has left, I will be going to Dr. Monji for my next exam. Highly recommended this office.

Nice and responsive place to choose your glasses. The staff are really awesome and they have option to select different colors on the frame if you find it online. Be clear with insurance details because they are not so good in handling insurance details.(thats why 4 star)

My review is obviously not necessary considering the high rating Takaki & Monji have already established but I’ll add my 2 cents as well. Takaki & Monji and staff are absolutely the best optometrists establishment without any doubt.
They are 100% professionals in the area of optometry. In addition, the folks here care about what they do and they always provide the best service to the customer.
My entire family agrees. If you read this, look no further and take your business to Takaki & Monji and you will be completely taken care of.

I’m sad to write this review. I had been going here for over 7 years and my vision continued to get worse. I alway mentioned the difficulty of wearing my contacts and they never could find the solution. I went to another optometrist because the wait for next appt was to long. Little did I know, I was diagnosed with an eye disease called kertoconus. I couldn’t believe it so I went to get a second opinion and it was true I had this eye disease for all this time and they never diagnosed it. It’s disappointing that this was never revealed every year I went. I now go to a eye specialist that can make custom contact lenses for my eyes.

Brought my daughter here for the first time and the staff was wonderful! So friendly. They helped her find the frames she wanted and made her feel comfortable. My daughter has exotropia and Dr. Takaki was very thorough and informative. Definitely glad we decided to come here.

Dr. Takaki has been my optometrist since 1993 and I’ve always been very pleased with the service I have received. She’s patient, friendly and also sincerely cares about her patients. You’re always made to feel like a person, rather than a wallet when you go there.

I spent most of my life thinking eye doctor school must be several units of «number 1 or number 2» followed by a unit of blow a thing in your eye to see if you have glaucoma. As it turns out, eye doctors learn a TON of really useful stuff in medical school, but very few of them seem to take the time to thoroughly explain all of the reasons your eyes are the way they are.
Dr. Monji is the only exception to this rule I’ve ever found. He told me about 3 problems with my eyes that no doctor had ever seen/​explained before, including one that is causing me vision loss that is completely self induced. Specifically, that rubbing my eyes frequently could be the cause of some of my blurred vision. He also found hints of allergies in my eyes, and his prescription has my eyes feeling so much better than they ever have before. I’m so thankful I found this place.

I saw Dr. Monji and had a great experience! The office staff are very friendly and helpful. Dr. Monji was very professional yet approachable at the same time. I hadn’t had my eyes checked in over 8 years, luckily nothing was wrong except a slight astigmatism. Just got a call from them and my glasses are ready for pickup, it was less than a week!
I highly recommend this place for your optometry needs =)

The staff are accommodating, helpful, and professional. Dr. Monji was awesome, he made my daughter and I feel very comfortable. My husband and younger daughter saw Dr. Takaki on a different date and my husband said that the Dr. Takaki was wonderful– but that’s on his Unilocal review page, I don’t want to speak for him.
Our prescription glasses were ready in a week. They also accept VSP insurance. However, they are in the heart of downtown Burbank, so parking can be a bit of a challenge– other than that, I highly recommend this place!

I have been a patient of Dr. Takaki, for several years. Dr. Takaki is an exceptional Optometrist. Currently my entire family are patients. I am very pleased with her care and also very grateful. She is caring and she takes her time with all her patients. I have worked in the medical field for 15 years and I highly recommend Dr. Takaki. Her staff is professional and very, very helpful. They know how to run an office. I am always treated kindly by the staff and my children LOVE them! They do not run from anyone in this office!!! Thank you so much for all your loving care!!!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Takaki for over a decade. I get such fantastic care, that some of my co-​workers and their families are now her patients as well. I always feel like I’m remembered, even though I only come in once a year. The staff has been the same since I started, which proves it’s a happy environment. I know my eyes are well cared for. I will happily continue to have my eyes cross while watching the hot-​air balloon in Dr. Takaki’s «eye-​arcade».

Dr. Takaki & staff are the greatest.
I’ve been going to Valley Eye Center for years, but it always felt like a cattle call operation.
So, when I needed work safety eye glasses, I came to Takaki & Monji. VEC doesn’t do safety glasses. I ended up with some OCC frames for safety glasses. 4 pairs of glasses later I’m hooked on the excellent service, and glasses that I can really see with.
Thanks Peggy for fitting my frames so well.

Dr. Takaki (formerly Dr. Saldana) is by far the best optometrist I’ve ever had. She is knowledgeable, kind, patient, and caring– highly recommended.

Drs saldana and monji are FANTASTIC! Very thorough. Take their time with each patient. Professional. Smart. They will ask the other to review their patient for a second opinion, if necessary. The only reason why my husband and i stopped going to them is because our insurance changed; however, we were thinking about going to them on a cash basis, and even drive all the way from LA (we used to live in the Valley) because they are so awesome. Highly recommended pair of doctors! Oh… and they are open on Saturdays, which is convenient.
